It was created by Father Colín MacInnes, a Scottish Catholic priest, who developed his apostolic and missionary activity, in favor of the Community of the People's Committee, along with other projects, for a period of 20 years. It is situated northeast of Quito, in the People's Committee No. 1, a marginal urban neighborhood divided into zones 1 to 12; from 1 to 5 it is called La Bota, from 6 to 12 it is called the Committee. The Hospital is in zone 11. The general population is 200,000 inhabitants, the area of influence 80,000, it is accessible to means of transportation and basic services. It began its health activities in 1989 with first-rate services: promotion, prevention, recovery and rehabilitation, which constitute the gateway to the health system with the Family Medicine model. Subsequently, since the year 2000, it has fulfilled functions of complementarity and continuity due to its greater resolution capacity with second-level services: basic specialties and support-diagnosis services.
