The Padre Hurtado Hospital was inaugurated on November 9, 1998, starting its care on the 16th of that same month, with Maternity, Gynecology and Newborn, plus all the necessary clinical, administrative and industrial support services. It had previously been defined that this new hospital center -the first of its kind built after three decades in the capital- would be oriented towards the user, through a management model that would allow it to meet this objective. This priority was also reflected in the architectural design, the equipment acquired and the facilities. Because the Hospital was brand new, its start-up was gradual. Pediatric care was added to the Women's and Newborn Unit in May 1999, and in November of that year, care for adult patients. Over the years, progressively more services and specialties have been added; technology has been incorporated; Expansions and remodeling have been carried out, opening more beds and increasing complexity, to respond to the health care needs of the population and to provide a service with the best possible quality.
