Jiahui International Hospital is the first foreign-funded tertiary general hospital in China. Located in downtown Shanghai's Xuhui District, the hospital opened to the public in October 2017. From the beginning, Jiahui International Hospital has maintained a close, strategic collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital, with a particular focus on cancer care, women’s health, and pediatrics. Through this unique, long-term collaboration, Jiahui International Hospital has drawn upon Mass General’s expertise and long history of excellence to put best practices in clinical care and management at the heart of its operations. In the field of oncology, the two institutes share a multidisciplinary consultation platform that aligns standards and allows oncologists in the US and China to coordinate on diagnosis and treatment options for Chinese patients. We made bad experience with that hospital. My wife had a concussion and had to go to MRI. I wasn’t allowed to join there and my wife told the technician that she has claustrophobia. My wife tried the first time, but couldn’t stand it. The technician talked to her and let her try again and forced her to finished the procedure, even she wanted to stop. My wife was scared and now she has nightmares and insomnia because of that experience. We complained about it, but the hospital doesn’t care and insist that they were doing the right thing. This procedure wasn’t worth any coin, so therefore this hospital is totally unprofessional and they don’t care the health of the patients, only the money they get for this “professional treatment”. Also the “customer care” is very unprofessional and holding back informations.

The outdoor COVID 19 testing facility is fantastic. Pre-register and pay in advance, and you can walk up, check-in and proceed directly to testing with a QR code. The testing is super fast with efficient, merciless nasal swabbers. The easy to access results/reports are generated within a few hours and retrievable via the hospital's app. There is usually at least one staff member outside ensuring everyone in line is (i) observing social distancing, and (ii) properly scheduled and checked in with a QR code ready before getting to the testing window.
