L. Pasteur University Hospital Košice is the second largest hospital in Slovakia. At the same time, it is the terminal hospital for the entire region of eastern Slovakia.Currently, the hospital has more than 1356 beds and 3530 employees. There are 46 clinical workplaces - 25 clinics, 11 departments, 9 specialized centers and 3 institutes - operating in two campuses. It is the teaching base of the UPJŠ Faculty of Medicine in Košice, the Faculty of Health Services of the University of Prešov in Prešov and several secondary medical schools.During the first and second waves of the pandemic, it was the final "red hospital" and provided healthcare to more than 2,500 covid patients. It was among the hospitals with the largest number of reprofiled beds and beds with artificial pulmonary ventilation for covid patients, with a high success rate of treatment. It is building a program for post-covid care and rehabilitation of patients after overcoming Covid-19. It includes a vaccination center and a large-capacity collection point for PCR testing.
