Metropolitan Hospital was founded in 2001 as a part of PERSEUS Healthcare Group SA and has quickly managed to establish itself in the private healthcare sector. The Group’s shareholding structure consists of distinguished entrepreneurs and institutional investors, health managers with years of experience in the field of healthcare, as well as renowned physicians of all medical specialties, from Greece and abroad. The Hospital is equipped with the latest technology and top-of-the-line diagnostic devices so that physicians may seamlessly provide superior quality services to patients. Metropolitan Hospital is the No. 1 hospital in Greece in Medical Tourism services. Around 20% of our admissions are international patients. We accept all major European and US insurance companies and we have direct billing contracts with most of them. The hospital boasts a sophisticated, contemporary computer system, with potential interactive online communication, both for doctors and patients. International patients can enjoy an array of amenities within their rooms, such as access to a wide range of foreign television programs. All rooms also have private bathrooms. In terms of meals, they may choose between Greek flavors and international cuisine. A team of experienced dietitians plan the daily menus based on the dietary needs and preferences of each patient. All meals are prepared and cooked on site.

Hospital staff excellent even though under staffed and our neurosurgeon Nick Halasios is brilliant . The process required for admission for scheduled surgery was very badly organised and must be improved if this hospital wants to claim being a private premium hospital ! We were made to go from building to building , delayed admission as a result , frustrated patient and we didn’t have time to see patient as he was whisked off for the surgery ! It’s also really bad for the state of mind if the person who is going into surgery

The Dr's and nurses took very good care of me while I was there. It is a little different than what I am used to being from the States. I had to pay for my room and board up front. I also had to pay for everything before I could leave. I needed emergency surgery, and they had me in surgery in a couple of hours after arriving. I also really appreciated how they tried to talk to me. I don't speak a bit of Greek, but they tried to talk to me in English. It made everything so much easier. They allowed my mom to stay with me the whole time. There was a nice cafeteria there so she could go eat and get away for a bit. Being in another country I don't know much about, it could have been way worse.

A big scam, my girlfriend stood for just 4 hours they charged me 700€ , they said will check with my assurance and call me back , but never show up, they took more than 290€ for simple check up, while i have coverage from assurance 200€, the staffing is rude and they don t explain anything. Advice go to public hospital there they will take care of you and never ask for money. Such a shame , they use people health to get rich
