About clinic

This health center is part of a joint-stock company called Grupo Alemana SpA, whose sole owner is the Corporación Chileno Alemana de Beneficencia, a non-profit entity created in 1905, and to which the Clínica Alemana de Temuco and Valdivia also belong. This health center has two locations in the eastern sector of the capital, where a multidisciplinary professional team and the most advanced technology for diagnosis and treatment in all medical specialties have been brought together. The main building is located in Vitacura and, in addition to offering clinical services, hospitalization and exams, it includes a 16-story tower for medical consultations and outpatient procedures. Then, in front of this structure, is the Manquehue Oriente Building , inaugurated in 2013, which houses the Maternity and other medical-surgical services. Likewise, since 1999, it has had the German Clinic of La Dehesa , located in the commune of Lo Barnechea, an institution that since 2014 has Major Ambulatory Surgery and a modern Children's Center. Also at Clínica Alemana de La Dehesa, during 2019 Alemana Sport is inaugurated , a Traumatology and Sports Medicine Center with an innovative approach, cutting-edge technology and the best multidisciplinary team of specialists. Together, these buildings add 400 beds, 22 surgical pavilions and 202 thousand m2 built. In addition, its facilities offer the care of more than 1,000 medical specialists.

International patient service is useless. They never ever receive any kind of emails. One has to carry the hard copies of all the documents including the payment guarantee letter from the insurance company. People sitting at the reception of the international patient desk very rude. It takes double the time to make them understand any kind of situation. I would also like to add the the doctors here are amazing. It would be very very helpful for foreign patients who do not speak Spanish to have a better service. I would love to come to this hospital again only if there are more helpful and better people at the internatinal patient desk.

Not as `International` as I`d expected... I chose this hospital as when dealing with the gyno area, I would prefer to speak in English... Firstly, I have to say the Dr I saw was excellent (and fluent in English)! FIRST VISIT I arrived to my appointment on time and afer 15-20minutes at the reception (gyno dept) the staff were still having trouble entering me in to the system in order for me to pay and see the Dr... in the meantime, the Dr walked past on his way out and said it was impossible for him to see me that day. The staff said it was a problem with their computers and that I would be in the system next time. They arranged another appointment. Bearing in mind I had to take a taxi both ways, I was frustrated but fair enough, I guess I could have arrived earlier to the appointment. SECOND VISIT All well and pretty straight forward, I arrived, I paid, saw the Dr, but I`d been added to the system as `male` and the Dr was unable to upload the female!!! tests in to the system and had to make several calls and in the end wrote what I`d had done on a piece of paper and gave me his email address. I left the hospital thinking I could get the results online and had his email address if I had any questions... Great! A week or so later... When it came to checking my results, I realise (after navigating the predominanlty spanish website) that I can`t access my account without getting a clave (password) from the actual hospital... Oh! So I email the Dr, I hate to bother him but wonder if there`s a way of me finding these results without having to take 2 more taxi rides to/from the hospital!! He responds promptly and is helpful, informs me about the results of one test but makes it sound like everything is fine... ok great thanks I reply, feeling relieved that everything is ok... "and just to confirm, everything is fine, I should book another smear test in 1 year`s time?", he replies that they haven`t uploaded my results as I never made the payment....... What payment?? I had no idea. So tomorrow I will make my THIRD visit to the hospital to pay?? and ask for my password.... and I pray that that is my last visit! Extremely frustrating and not the service I`d expect for the "2nd best clinic in LA"
