The Dr. Roberto Gilbert E. Children's Hospital is a non-profit hospital unit, a component of the Guayaquil Charity Board, focused on the comprehensive care of the pediatric population of Ecuador, with the participation of a highly qualified multidisciplinary team. with great resolution capacity, and with a humanitarian spirit of solidarity and integrity. Our professional staff specializes in the care of the little ones, and is made up of 1,278 workers, divided into various pediatric medical specialties, all committed to the recovery and care of children's health. Our great structure, in addition to breaking the schemes of children's hospital centers in Ecuador, allows the care of tens of thousands of children with limited resources in Ecuador, who receive decent care, in an environment that helps not only their physical rehabilitation but also psychological. The hospital has a capacity of 385 beds for the care of children. Our hospital is also a teaching institution. We have launched a permanent postgraduate program in Paediatrics. Groups of doctors of various nationalities, specialists in pediatric fields come annually to provide medical and nursing training cycles to examine and care for children. The Antonio Pino Ycaza Children's Clinic is part of the Dr. Roberto Gilbert Elizalde Hospital, and offers specialized medical attention and first class service for people who want a more personalized service for their children. It works with 23 private and 18 semi-private rooms, and the money it generates is used to cover the expenses of the general area of the health home, which helps many small poor people receive medical care at low costs.
