A great hospital made so by its staff. The nurses make this a five star place to be (even for those of us who loathe hospitals). The compassion, attention to detail, and FOLLOW THROUGH on things which are promised to take place. Meet anyone in the mingling area outside and there isn’t a bad word to be said for all it’s arenas of practice from mental health, alcohol counselling, pain control and so forth. Management must be doing something right because staff are actually happy doing what they’re doing, which has the obvious follow on effect of stellar patient treatment. Where other places are found wanting, your loved ones will be well taken care of here.

From my wife Christine McKinsley. Had a knee replacement done on 17 aug by Dr Weber. The first few days i wasn't sure how I felt but they discovered my blood was low so after transfusion I got along in leaps and bounds. My heartfelt thanks to the doctor and nursing staff in medical ward and also to the physio staff. You all do a wonderful job. The catering and cleaning staff nursing staff etc were all so friendly and professional. I was in Portsea Ward Thank for taking care of me whilst I was there and I won't hesitate to recommend Beleura hospital to one and all. I recently had a total Hip Replacement at Beleura Private Hospital and also did inpatient Rehabilitation on Mc Crae ward. I cannot thank every single person enough. From the moment I walked in the doors the professionalism and care I received was second to none. I would highly recommend Orthopaedic Surgeon Brad Crick he has done an excellent job for me personally ( thankyou so much ) All the Drs, Nurses, OTs, Physiotherapist, Porters were absolutely amazing they all worked so well as a team and made me feel welcomed and safe ( Thankyou ) Thanks also goes to the catering team the food was excellent ( my trays always went back empty 🙂 ) and the staff were lovely and friendly. All the cleaners were friendly and easy to talk to everyone and did a wonderful job. I'm currently doing outpatient Rehabilitation there and still finding everyone so nice friendly and helpful. Treated at the old Peter Mac many years ago and it was beyond excellent. But my experience at the new Peter Mac includes a lost referral, lost history, lost blood results, lost u/s results, relevant medication information not given, existing medical conditions potentially impacted by proposed treatment not considered or discussed, and incorrect information documented that contradicts what my GP sent to them AND which contradicts reports from when I was there before!. Trying to get it sorted out - impossible.

Subjected to absolutely disgusting treatment at this hospital. Elective Surgery Manager was rude , terse and has no people skills what so ever. As expected when I lodged a request for explanation the Cancer Surgery Manager chose to disregard key facts and dismissed me completely. Patients aren’t just Medicare numbers . Avoid this hospital at all costs .

The peter mac staff are all awesome from the security and domestic staff to the teams of surgeons and nurses who helped me through the whipple procedure i had back on 15th March . I cant say thankyou enough. The ongoing post operation treatment has also been fantastic.

Shout out to Ward One. Spent two days there after surgery. From admitting to discharge everyone was knowledgeable, capable and kind. I found the rooms were amazing, far exceeded my expectations. Special acknowledgement to my nurses who went above and beyond.

Its an amazing 👏 hospital. I had day surgery and all the staff treated me with great care and respect. I was always updated on what was happening and how long each process would be. Food was yummy too 😋. Tip: they usually give out WIFI password at admission but if forgotten, just ask and they'll share.

Not the first time I've been in here but as previously even though it was for an operation all the staff right through from reception to orderlies, nurses, doctors and anaesthetists all made the experience stress free and even, although it might be a strange thing to say, enjoyable. Wouldn’t recommend as a private patient, during fasting the staff ate in front of you and it was loud and chaotic. It’s outdated and worn down. Worst experience of a hospital I have had. Was offered a sandwich at the end that had condensation on the plastic. Communication was terrible. Sat for 2.5 hours with no updates. The clothes given to wear for surgery was scratchy and uncomfortable. Bed sheets had stains. Understaffed and overbooked.

I stayed overnight in Ward 5D (Orthopedic ) in July 2023. The nurses and other staff were excellent. The only problem I had was the constant ringing of the bell. It was so loud . No one seem to be concerned about it . I did not get a minute of sleep even though the nurse gave me earplugs which didn’t block the noise at all. One staff told me the noise is always ongoing. Can they not turn the volume down a bit ? Unfortunately the specialist who treated me operated at this hospital. I have to change to another Dr and go to another private hospital if I need orthopedic treatment in future. I have mentioned this noise problem in the survey I completed post discharge. I have not received any explanation .

What can I say saved my life end of story great team of doctors, nurse's and support staff I'd love to come back but rather not haha great work keep saving lives your good at it

I hade a spine surgery 2 days ago. Thank you Dr Barnes a fantastic job. and Dr Graham .thanks all hard working nurses, they are very friendly, and always look after me. It was absolutely 5 stars

Had hip replacement surgery and Mercy made it an absolutely top experience. Thanks so much to the nurses, surgery team, physio, caterers, cleaners. Everyone made the procedure as painless as possible.

Twice I have been an inpatient at this hospital. On my first stay, I thought I’d got lucky and struck a few excellent doctors and nurses. But now, after my second stay (a year later) I realise this is a superb hospital. The kindness was almost overwhelming. I felt like the best friend or close relative of everyone. From the reception ladies, to the terrific doctors (esp Dr Mishra), the amazing nurses, even wards men (thanks Wayne), St Vincent’s Private Hospital is filled with care, compassion and competence. Sure, I love the hospital near my home town in Rockhampton. But if I’m ever in Brisbane and am unfortunate enough to get sick again, I hope I’m fortunate enough to be their patient. Thank you to everyone for all you did for me. I’m very grateful to you. ❤️

Shout out to all of the gorgeous nurses in ward 1A! Unfortunately was admitted twice but all of you made an awful painful experience a million times better. I didn’t like the fact that I was in hospital and away from my family and in pain, but it was like having friends close by. You all actually cared. You were all so lovely, caring, friendly, empathetic and advocated for me. Thank you! You all deserve a massive pay rise!

Recently stayed overnight after gallbladder removal surgery. I was very unwell afterwards, but the nursing staff were beyond amazing and caring. Loved the room service food too with great choices (have attached photos in case anyone wants to know in advance what you can get).

I recently gave birth at St Vincent's Private hospital and was impressed by the level of service and care I received during my stay. I was very well looked after by all the doctors, nurses and hospital staff. Not only did the staff provide me and my husband with lots of knowledge and insight as first time parents, they were caring and empathetic too. I highly recommend this hospital and I'd come back to deliver another baby in the future. Thank you

We had our first baby over a year ago at St. Vincent’s in Fitzroy and we had a great experience. Everyone was lovely from the nurse in the room who helped me to get ready for my c- section to the anaesthetists. I didn’t want to breastfeed and no one absolutely no one judged me or pushed me. The room was great. The care was great. Food was great and the night nurses did a wonderful job taking care of our Bub. The paediatrician was amazing and just so calm and encouraging. We are now planning to have our second baby at St. Vincent’s.

I had to spend a week in St Vincent's Private Hospital. The staff were just wonderful. Felt well taken care of at all levels. Nothing was too much trouble. The meals were basic but fresh and of good quality.
