About clinic

Founded in 1853 by the Italian Benevolent Society in Buenos Aires, the Italian Hospital of Buenos Aires is a non-profit civil association dedicated to general and highly complex medicine. Assistance, teaching and research are the institutional pillars that, with a great vision of the future, were established by its founders and that today, more than a century and a half after its creation, the Hospital maintains in force with the same passion. In November 2021, the Institution ranked 1st in Argentina for the sixth consecutive year and reached 3rd place among Latin American hospitals. This is the ranking organized by the América Economía magazine, in which it evaluates safety and transparency towards the patient, human capital, capacity, knowledge management, efficiency and prestige. The Hospital has its own university , where Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, Bachelor of Nursing, Pharmacy, Biochemistry and Bachelor of Surgical Instrumentation courses are taught, as well as 26 postgraduate courses (6 master's degrees and 20 specialization courses). In addition, it offers various in-service training programs (49 residencies, 170 advanced scholarships and 17 affiliated scholarships) and forms the Institute of Translational Medicine and Biomedical Engineering , a triple dependency executing unit between the Hospital, the University Institute and CONICET. The integrated health network of Hospital Italiano is made up of the Central Headquarters, the San Justo Headquarters and 16 Ambulatory Medical Centers distributed throughout the different neighborhoods of the Federal Capital and Greater Buenos Aires. The Central and San Justo offices are available to resolve emergency and more complex situations. For their part, the Ambulatory Medical Centers bring the specialties and practices necessary for frequent and preventive health care closer to the community. More than 300 private offices complement your attention.

Those who rated this place poorly must be psychiatric patients. On each of my two visits i received extremely kind, cheerful, and genuine service, qualified and thorough care, and never waited more than 20 minutes to see a doctor. I found the quality, service and cost quite remarkable.

Amazing experience. I am a foreigner and traveler concerned of health and visiting Doc in foreign countries but this hospital completely took my anxicious away. I made a appointment to Ginacoligy department by phone with spanish speaking friend help but after that, I could ask for translater by email (no fee) and was able to visit Doc on my own. The consultation for me was 1700 peso but they did all the tegistration and gave me a hospital card so i wont need to do that next time. Very helpful receptionist spoke spanish very slow for me and the Doc was very smily and kind. translator was also amazing. came on time and assisted me well. I had great experience better than back home in the US. Thank you

Like any overcrowded and messy public hospital, just a bit cleaner and better equipped. Fair enough if you go private or thru a third party insurance. Sign in the Hospital's insurance system at your own peril, a shameful scam they call Health Plan (Plan de Salud). Mind the difference, it could cost your life
