About clinic

Rush University Medical Center is an academic medical center that includes a 671-bed hospital serving adults and children, the 61-bed Johnston R. Bowman Health Center and Rush University. For more than 180 years, the Medical Center has been leading the way in developing innovative and often life-saving treatments. Today, Rush is a thriving center for basic and clinical research, with physicians and scientists involved in hundreds of research projects developing and testing the effectiveness and safety of new therapies and medical devices. The Medical Center also offers more than 70 highly selective residency and fellowship programs in medical and surgical specialties and subspecialties. In addition to its mission in patient care, education and research, the Medical Center maintains a strong commitment to the community. Rush reaches out to the Chicago community through offerings such as the Rush Community Services Initiatives Program, an umbrella for several student-led outreach programs designed to address the social and health care needs of residents in neighboring communities.

My mother is a current patient on the 12th floor of the hospital, I wanted to reach out to let you know of the excellent care my mother has received by staff members. Amir your PCT Tech on night shift is wonderful although he was training a new tech, I believe her name is Bree he was very patient and reassuring with my mom. Then your RN Autumn is outstanding, she repeatedly check in on my mom assured her that her concerns and checked on her throughout her shifts. She asked if my mom if she had any questions about the new medication they prescribed her and was patient with me as well. Staff like this should be recognized as most people would not think such young people are able to provide amazing care. Thank you for taking amazing care of my mom.

NORTHWESTERN HOSPITAL #1. I’m a senior with multiple health issues Fire Department ambulance took me to Rush hospital Emergency room. From the security guards to the nurses, very rude and disrespectful tours patients. Security @ rush have a mentality of THUGS on the streets! Saying cuss words to each other. To the nurses, VERY Unprofessional..! My ER Doctors were misguiding me about my medical condition, doctors thought that I have no idea. Shame on them! I got admitted to Rush hospitals, now let me tell you about Rush Hospital food service, so awful bunch of THUGS working there also. I called the kitchen from my room, people that I was talking to for placing my food order were very rude, I felt like rush dining service were angry when I called to place a food order. I WILL NEVER EVER come to this Rush hospital again. I WILL GO TO NORTHWESTERN HOSPITAL..!

Had a good experience. Brought my father in law into Rush to be evaluated from stroke he had 3 weeks ago. They had him in a bed in less than 30 min. He was admitted and put into their stroke rehab program in less than a week.
