Clinic The Dentists at Søerne in Copenhagen

I had a terrible experience with the dentist named Nadia El-Makhokhi. First of all, my appointment was at 7:30 but she came to see me at 7:50. I waited with two other girls and we all have an appointment at 7:30, however, for an unknown reason, I was the one got to be seen at last. Secondly, she tried to persuade me to have a full examination on my teeth (I get it, she tried to sell me the expensive service) by keeps saying that "oh, we don't usually do teeth cleaning because you know, we don't know the condition of the patient and so on" (well, should've mentioned it when I made the appointment because I clearly told the receptionist that I'd like to have a teeth cleaning - which according to the dentist website is available). Then I told her that I will do the full examination next time, which led her to 'hand' me to her colleague (a new doctor, I presume, judging from the way she always refers to Nadia when I asked her about my future treatment plan) and she left. In the middle of the teeth cleaning, Nadia returned to the room and told me that "the bill is ready for you", and I replied, "okay, thanks". She left, but then returned again (within minutes) and told me that the bill will be 316 KR. When I paid for the service, I politely asked her how long will it take to do a full examination and she said it will be approximately 60 minutes. I asked her further, when should I get the full examination - considering that I just had the teeth cleaning - which she replied: "oh, you know, you can do it in a month, or two months because the next time it is going to be more than 2000 KR". Adding this statement to the way she keeps returning to the room in the middle of my treatment has led me to believe that she made an assumption that I don't know how the dental service works in Denmark (particularly the fact that, unlike other medical treatment, it is not free). Therefore, perhaps she thought that I was financially incapable of paying the service. While in fact, choosing this dentist was a conscious decision after I thoroughly reading the patients online review and I was well aware of their prices - I also wrote that I know the place from an online search on the patient form handed by the receptionist. Next time I will bring my bank statement to assure them that their service will be paid accordingly... not. I will defintely won't be returning to this place.

Plus: thorough explanation by the dentist Minus: very rushed, not very thorough in the actual service, a bit rude First I had an appointment with Nadia for the checkup. She was 15 min late. When I asked if we could speak English, she commented - 'yeah I could tell you couldn't understand me', which I actually could and this comment was completely unnecessary. Then she was extremely rushing, didn't even show me the x-ray she made and couldn't clearly explain what I should do next, while at the same time commenting on it in a patronizing way as if it was me not being very bright there. My second appointment was with Ulla, for fixing one small cavity and talking about another potential issue. She was very thorough and clear in explaining me the complexity of the issue, so that was a big plus. But then again added some unnecessary judgemental comments. Then while fixing the cavity, again very much rushing, I could hear she was talking in Danish with her assistant about the talk we just had. She ended up telling me about the conclusion her assistant had, but it still felt a bit rude to be commented on like that when I clearly couldn't speak and when it seemed she believed I just couldn't understand them. I don't know if it was related to them rushing very much through fixing the cavity or just a coincidence, but the anesthesia ended up numbing my face all the way up to my eye, so I couldn't blink properly for the next 3h - she said it can just happen sometimes, which is fine. It's just hard not to think it was somehow linked with how much she was in a hurry (maybe not, but I'm just talking about the impression). Especially while still after few days I can feel a bit of soreness in my gum close to the injection, which I never experienced before. Overall - I'm sure they are good professionals, but the scheduling and customer service could really be improved. I could understand it in a public institution, but not when you're paying for the service. And I could tell by another review that I'm not an isolated case.

What a great experience ! I came to this dentist with a painful wisdom tooth. I started the consultation with Nadia and she was really amazing and understand my pain ! I had another dentist called Ula after who came to remove the tooth. She was also really nice, professional and smiling. They both make me at ease. I recommend this dental place and will definitely come back ! Mange tak ❣️
