About clinic

Durdans Hospital has been a trusted name in Sri Lankan healthcare for more than seven Decades. Since our foundation in 1946, we have built a reputation for regional leadership in medical excellence and innovation, based on a simple philosophy: that improving the health of our community should be driven by passion as well as compassion. Durdans Hospital offers 260 beds – including 60 in our critical care department – across a range of spacious, modern rooms. We offer the best consultants, specialists and employees, all of whom are dedicated to providing exceptional clinical outcomes and utmost customer satisfaction. With cutting-edge technology, we have evolved into a world-class tertiary care institute. Our facilities include an ultramodern theatre complex comprising eight theatres and state-of-the-art intensive care units (ICUs). We also offer a modern radiology unit, fully equipped physiotherapy unit and two catheterisation laboratories. Durdans Hospital is the first healthcare institution in Sri Lanka to be endorsed by Joint Commission International (JCI) for meeting the Gold Standard in Global Healthcare. In 2017, we were re-accredited with the Gold Seal of Approval by JCI, the world’s leading accreditation organisation, based in the United States of America.

This hospital is maintaining the best qualities of private hospitals. The facility has a separate car park building just before (~100m) the hospital; this is a paid car park and we can get discount for parking fee if we are getting service from the hospital, for this we have to tap the parking card on the card reader machine at the front desk. A renovation work is going on, hence, the access road is quite narrow and be-careful of falling objects for your safety. They are still care about covid rules and check the body temperature of all the visitors. On the first floor we have access to number of elevators and moderate crowd can be seen. The lift lobby area have few other facilities like bill payment machine, vending machine for hot drinks, chocolate and few other items; other than that, we can get our medical bill printed through bill printing machine. Other common areas are clean and tidy. Water dispensers are available at some locations. Wash rooms also are tidy and clean with automatic operation of water tap, hand drying machines and water closet flushing. Perfect air-conditioning throughout the common public floors. The staff is normal and nothing to highlight about them; however, nothing to complain about them too.

One of the best hospitals in SL despite so much of construction ongoing which was noisy everywhere. The service is really good, everyone wants to greet you and are very welcoming. The nurses and attendants are very friendly. Very well trained staff. The hospital does NOT try to overcharge you as other comments highlight.
