Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) treatment in Africa

We’ve got bad service. You can’t even sit on a chair or on the floor next to a sick 92 year old lady. Only one person next to her bed. Took 4hours plus for admission. The staff told you to sit in the rest rooms if you want to sit. We are lucky they couldn’t help her at Meulmed and the ambulance took her to Heart Hospital with 5star service.

I will never set my foot in this hospital ever again, went to the hospital last week on the 8th February, I had chest pains and difficulty with breathing. Was attended by a nurse in the emergency area while waiting for the Doctor who took his time and he had very impatient and inconsiderate. Then he asked one of the nurses called Sophie to do heart test on me, the nurse came and just pulled my underwear without informing me what was that for and she was very rude. Then I was discharged at about 2am still with severe chest pains. All in all I will never recommend anyone to come to this hospital.

This is the best hospital in Pretoria,the nurses are very friendly and loving. However there is a group that works night shift this week they delay to bath patients and give them medication very late. That is not fair they are sick they need the best possible care at all times especially at night.as im typing there's a sick lady who was promised to be taken to the shower the sister came with her oxygen put it at the door and left without saying anything this people they are heartless

Waiting for over an hour and a half at the emergency room for a doctor to see my baby who has been projectile vomiting for the past 3 hours !!!! No one cares. Only one doctor on duty for the night. Tell us they didn’t know we were even waiting to see someone. Here’s the best part THEY MADE US ADMINISTER THE MEDICATION OURSELVES IN THE ER!!!! There were 2 white pills in the pill splitter. The one we saw them remove from the pack, the other was just sitting there. The doctor didn’t even know what the second pill was but wanted us to give it to my baby ???? The HOSPITAL HAD NO REHYDRATE for him!!! They had to give him tap water to check his fluids. Don’t waste your money on this pathetic excuse for a private hospital! Shocking! Standing here with a screaming baby and zero consideration from the staff. Disgusting!

Spent the night in hospital here after having surgery and it was the worst experience. Service was terrible, it takes on average 30 minutes for someone to attend to you when you call them, i had to ask for a glass of water 3 times for, yes you guessed it, 30 minutes before i got anything. It took an hour an a half for them to consult my doctor on an issue i was having where I couldn't breath when sleeping. Service aside i fell asleep and was woken up at midnight from LOUD hammering in the hospital, when i queried this (me getting up because I didn't have 30 minutes) i was told that it was maintenance. Yes, maintenance at midnight in a hospital, you read correctly, so loud enough it could wake the dead. Hammering and welding went on for an hour after which the aircon unit above my bed burst drenching my hospital bed with water. Service came in to observe what happened with a couple of "oh nos" and "oh mys" i was left sitting on a chair at 1am in the morning for, yes you guessed it, 30 minutes before someone came in and said they were moving me to another ward. Would give zero stars but the food was good so one star warranted.

After having had my baby admitted to the peads ward on two separate occasions, I can confidently say that Sandton Mediclinic has amazing facilities for littles. Their nursing staff in the pediatric ward are second to none, with each sister being super passionate and caring for each child in their care. The doctors on call are amazing and knowledgeable. The food provided for the kids (3 meals a day) are made and served with love, and quite tasty (I may have snuck a taste or two). I have delivered both of my children here too, and the maternity ward is really fantastic. The meals are amazing and they ensure new mommies are taken care of. The bathrooms in the maternity ward could do with an upgrade, but the rooms are awesome. With plenty of space and comfortable. Dr Allan-Gould is an amazing OBGYN. Dr Dance, Dr Van Der Nest and Dr Mathwin are all amazing pediatricians (Dr Dance is our usual pediatrician but the other two Dr’s have seen my child when he was admitted to the ward). Sr Nozi and Sr Mbali in the pediatric ward are AMAZING. Sr Jolene in the maternity ward is an excellent nurse.

The doctors and other staffs were really nice, helping everyone warmly. The reception was great.

Whenever you go to the orthopedic section the doctors saying go to Bwaila hospital. In bwaila the orthopedic section is not functional... Why you guys are torturing patient what's your problem with consulting the patient who are coming to your hospital??? Is there no one looking after this?

I went there for a procedure yesterday. The Day Hospital was really impressive!! The nurses were amazing, the pre and post care as well with outstanding doctors… and the food was also really tasty afterwards. Thanks so much!!!

Wonderful experience. The personnel are very friendly and professional. Most information captured beforehand on website making the questions here far less and intrusive. Will see what the food is like..

I feel Durbanville Medi Clinic ER is run by a bunch of lazy, rude, unfriendly staff from the Dr's. down to the Reception staff. A much better option is Cape Gate Medi Clinic. Friendly, helpful and competent staff.

The best experience I have had with a medical provider was at BASS. The entire staff are exceptionally friendly, pleasant, always ready to help and care for you like family. Dr Ogungbo is a wonderful neurosurgeon. I especially love how he allowed plenty of time for questions and really took his time to explain my conditions with me as well as my treatment options. They all ensured I had a smooth prep, spinal surgery, and excellent follow-up. I received an international standard care in our local environ😊. I am so glad I chose BASS and would highly recommend them to anyone.

All I can say is that God is always on my case. I found BASS on google map and went through their videos and photos. Never knew God was directing me to the best spine surgeon I would ever meet. Am grateful for their love and selflessness. I had faith in them from the first day I saw them on the map. And 3 days later I had an emergency surgery. Doctor Ogungbo saw my pain and operated me immediately without asking for a dime. Nigeria is truly going to be great with people like him. God bless your healing hands doctor. Team BASS are wonderful. Dr. Ogumbo is and his team did a great job for me when I had my spinal surgery early this year. It was a great outcome and they are good at following up with their patients. Great team indeed!

They are established for cheating on people health. We went for stomach pain and they asked us for Rontgen film. They don't know human body. If you are foreigner definitely don't trust them, get offer from another Clinique, most probably you will find better service with 1/3 price.

Been there for two c sections and it s been a breeze 😌 👌🏻 they took good care of me and my babies the staff was super helpful caring and understanding which made my healing journey easier i strongly recommended if ur looking for a good place to welcome your bundle of joy😊

MRI technician are rude. Also I was operated and the doctor brought all his students during my operation to use my body as subject sample for them ti learn without my consent. Just because I was not a Tunisian and I am a foreigner I wasn’t treated lawfully and unfairly. My body was exposed to these men my consent.

There is no organization at all!!! Especially from reception side at the clinics area, very bad attitude, very rude, shouting for the patients!! and I also waited for my turn for more than 3 hours to enter!!!!.... I have never seen a staff like this in a big hospital matching with the amount that I paid. It's the last time to visit it and I will not recommend it to anyone..

a very dirty hospital, flies flying in the resuscitation center, the nurses are not equipped with masks and gloves..., a country to avoid too! this hospital deserves no star

After suffering from a strange feeling in my ear before going on a diving trip, I wanted to see a doctor to make sure I'm safe to go. My hotel manager asked around and was told this hospital has great ENT diving specialists. That may be the case, but the doctor I saw was a young woman who prescribed totally unnecessary antibiotics. In addition, her English was barely intelligible, especially with my ear condition. The interpreter for the hospital even apologized for this doctor, saying it's the first time she saw her there. A week later, I went to a REAL specialist in Sharm, who was very unimpressed with the medicine I was prescribed. For this "pleasure" I had to pay 150 Euros - an outrageous sum! In short, unless you get a real diving specialist, avoid.

Horrible, emotionally traumatic experience,irresponsible employees(not all, yet many, to be specific); the cost of the service is unreasonably high, absolutely disastrous finance department with pricing errors beyond 5k. They didn't accept my written complaint and never responded to the verbal, although promised.

Please avoid this hospital. I went in as an emergency patient and cannot believe how me and my family including young children were treated. No chairs or seats so my kids sat on the floor. All the hospital were concerned about was how I was going to pay. Whilst weak I had to walk around the hospital to different rooms just to make payment. I can’t believe hospitals so amateur unprofessional and selfish exist . Please beware.

The worst ever hospital I have ever been to in my life, unprofessional staff, complicated process just to get Into the emergency room, fees to open up a medical file eventhough I have my medical card, long awaiting to get in and a lot of people keeps redirecting me. I'm writing this review while waiting for almost 40 minutes just to have someone to check on me and I really feel sick and bad. Worst experience ever.

I am extremely grateful to all the ICU nursing, medical and cleaning staff, who have been taking great care of my mother. She fell sick while on a vacation here and had to be admitted into ICU a few days ago. She speaks only French and was very overwhelmed with the whole situation. I arrived in Cairo a couple of days after she was admitted and was relieved to hear from her that she was well looked after. Communication with the hospital was a little hard before I came over but thankfully the International Relations team also did an amazing job of giving us updates and letting us see her through video calls. I cannot thank them all enough for taking such good care of my mom, especially when we weren't here with her and she was very much on her own. I hope she pulls through and I am confident she is in great hands here. Thank you.

I recently had to take my friend to the hospital due to a medical emergency. While the initial check-up was conducted promptly, the experience quickly turned sour. The nurse named Esraa who attended to us was rude and lacked basic communication skills. No one introduced themselves, leaving us confused and unsure of whom to speak to. To make matters worse, we found the hospital to be severely understaffed. When I went to the reception to sign some papers, I found no one there. Almost all the staff members were absent, reportedly praying in the mosque, leaving the hospital empty and unattended. It was quite late at night, and we were left feeling anxious and helpless. The wait time for the test results was also incredibly long, and there was a lack of communication about what was happening with my friend's health. I was particularly disturbed when a nurse came in and started writing down details to transfer my friend to the intensive care unit without any prior explanation or consultation with us. I had to insist on speaking to a doctor, which delayed the process even further. Finally, when we decided to leave the hospital, we were left alone in the room without any instructions or follow-up. The overall experience was extremely disappointing, particularly in the emergency unit, which is supposed to be the most prepared and equipped to handle patients in need.

Most or all reviews of thanking doctors and nurses are fake reviews made my nurses. Service is very slow and sometimes it may take ages. Not very honest you should review the bill before leaving. Out patient care is good though.

Good medical service. The clinics are running almost throughout the day. Although the service is expensive here, but almost everything there is covered by insurance, and then you will get the service for a very reasonable price.

Was attended at emergency department. Nurses responded immediately when our ambulance landed at A&E. Was impressed by how neat the department was and their private rooms in A&E, Easy to follow directions. Nurses were engaging, humble and had a kindhearted. Offering great services. A hospital to go to. I came here with an emergency patient and the response was quick and efficient. If your insurance can cover you, this is your go-to hospital. Very world class kind of a hospital. The doctors are all well knowledge endowed in their respective medical specialties. The nurses are most especially customer service oriented - loved their reception. Watch out for the Children's Specialty Hospital that's yet to be launched. Keep up the good work The Aga Khan University Hospital.

For your Surgical Clinics, Improve your appointment booking system! If Doctors have emergency surgeries, and patients appointments have to be cancelled or rescheduled, INFORM THE PATIENTS in good time. There are people who Travel from Out of the town for their appointments! And if appointments for the following days need to be amended to accommodate patients whos appointments had been cancelled due to any emergency the doctor had to attend, then those patients booked on the following days should also be advised of the situation so that they can plan themselves. Very poor service!

I am a consultant clinical oncologist, here we have all the treatments I can ask for, this is very important knowing that I can treat my patients according to the most recent international guidelines.

- Very Dirty hospital - Rude and unfocused doctors - Careless staff AVOID!

I’m here to inform you that doctors don’t know anything about medicine there, the whole system works just to drain your money! I came to this hospital with hard case of chemical hive, and dermatologist instead of making IgE test for allergy, asked me to make general blood test and CRP. Also, she was not listening to my story and what happened to me, she was making assumptions like - this is from hygiene tampons or a bug bitten you, despite the fact I said clear it’s from levothyroxine medicines which I recently was taking. So she subscribed me 2 antihistamines and cream, despite my case required immediate injection of prednisolone. Next day I felt worse, when we came again she started create another assumptions like - this is scarlet fever, this is bacterial infection. I was literally crying from skin edema. So instead of giving prednisolone injection she sent me to pass bacterial culture ( and seems to wait until I die). My CRP test was 143 instead of max 5. So when we went to pass this blood and bacterial test again she run to us and said actually your case is very serious go to emergency. There, they were very slow, making another pointless assumptions. They put me in the hospital for 1 day made me pay 15 thousands EGP as deposit for 2 days. Not listening to me they said - you have bacterial infection, we don’t know which one we will made blood culture and give you antibiotics and corticosteroids (finally), especially with the fact that my skin was not red - it was already purple! No one listened that I have high TSH and I was taking levothyroxine and even in instruction it’s written that it may cause hive. They brought me another dermatologist and endocrinologist. Meanwhile I was waiting for any treatment for 5 hours And this is emergency! After corticosteroids I felt better and next day I run away from this terrible place. They subscribe me antibiotics for a week, and on 5th day I got my blood results showing - there was no any bacterial infection. For all of this mistreatments and pointless doctors who benefit nothing to me they took 15.7k EGP. And here we don’t even count another 800 egp of first dermatologist who was doing nothing but being 101% unprofessional. If you want experience of being on edge of death with your own money - welcome to SGH.

I try only clinics, labs, rays there. The place is very organized. One of the best. Process is very smooth. Parking area is available. Doctors are really really below average with high price which is now 700 the visit.

Very rich image starting from entrance with many facilities and coffee shops in addition to a dine in well known restaurant with a very good breakfast and also various shops for gifts. Staff are friendly and active all time you can ask and get quick reply on site, Rooms are very comfortable with a richy furniture with totally isolation. Prices are very high with a good service. Medical services are the same as all huge hospitals but this one with a much more luxurious elements regarding image, furniture and polite staff.
