The experience I have is sitting outside on the sidewalk, my wife arrived an hour before me for emergency treatment and entered without problems, since I did not enter with her I have to wait outside, the doctor tells her that only the guard can decide if I go in or not and he tells me that only the doctor... well, there is my wife feeling very bad and unable to accompany her. In Sept 2023 in Cuenca, my upper arm was broken in 4 places and I needed surgery to repair the bones (titanium screws, metal plate,). I was hospitalized at Mt Sinai for two days, required a month of 6 hr/day in-home care by rotating team of Mt Sinai nurses, and had subsequent 5x/wk physicaltherapy x 2 months .The care I received was extraordinary at every level. I can't praise the competence and personal care enough.

I was just digging through some old boxes and I found the paperwork from when I had to make a visit to Monte Sinai hospital when I got sick in Cuenca back in 2017. It brought back the memories of the amazing treatment I received there. I got insanely sick while visiting Ecuador. Before I got to the hospital, I thought I was going to meet my demise and I was saying my prayers. Thank goodness to the wonderful doctors and staff at this place because they took great care of me. I didn't get to see the entire hospital, but from what I saw from my point of view, they seemed to have pretty much everything there that you would find at a regular United States hospital. Plus, all the doctor's I saw there spoke English too. The experience also really opened my eyes to make me aware of how the statesides hospital rip Americans off. I don't know if their prices have changed since then, but my entire cost with testing and treatments and medication was right around $100. No you did not read that wrong, ONLY about one hundred dollars USD. Another way Ecuador helped me to realize that the United States is good at taking advantage of their citizens, is that when you go into the pharmacies there, the medication is a fraction of the price in the United States and many of them you do not even need a prescription for. There is only one internationally rated hospital in Ecuador and it is in Quito. After 10 days in this hospital, they are decades away from being accredited. They do not have a lot of basic equipment. Went in to get an abscess removed on three different visits. I was scheduled at 10am but the room wasn't available until 8pm. Told to wait. I luckily asked for a written cost estimate and was told 58,000 PESOS (not including blood work, ultrasound and "hospital fees"). I said "no" and before I left, I paid the receptionist the 2,000 peso consult fee which she strangely handed over to one of the doctors. I never got a receipt for the two times that I paid. I went down the street and had the abscess removed for 2,000 pesos. BE SURE TO GET A WRITTEN COST ESTIMATE BEFORE ANY PROCEDURE. GO ELSEWHERE- THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF! 30x more than the competition. Terrible money scam. People were nice, but not professional. My mom had a heart issue and was sent here by Xcaret Hotel Mexico (this is a partner hospital with the hotel, says something about the hotel too). She was given EKG and blood test, which was charged 1300USD. The emergency doctor couldn't give any diagnosis with these results and wanted to refer an internal medicine doctor to continue with more procedures (for more charges). The whole time we were there there was no monitor of vital signs, the IV stopped working. We ran away without continuing with any procedure. Stay away from this hospital if you can!

My son hurt his knee pretty bad after landing awkwardly trampolining at our resort. He couldn’t bare weight on it and had a lot of pain so we researched a few local hospitals and decided on Amerimed based on some of the Google reviews. We were not disappointed and so glad we picked this one. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and got us in, x-rayed, meds and a knee brace for 6,500 pesos/ $400usd. We were out within 90 minutes. Very clean, modern and professional. Similar to an urgent care in the US. You pay out of pocket but prices are relatively reasonable. Everyone speaks English. I wasn’t sure what to expect so hope this review is comforting if you need to see a doctor while traveling.

While on a dive trip to Cozumel, my husband became seriously ill and was hospitalized at Costamed. He received excellent treatment. This review is about the patient services people, particularly Jesus Pineda and Israel Cuerca, who were so helpful. My phone would not work and Jesus let me use his phone to contact my bank. He was a very calming influence at a trying time. All the staff was kind and helpful but these two stand out, especially Jesus.

I've been with my grandmother at HDH twice in the last 30 days. The first time on October 21st in orthopedics, service provided by the doctor Barbara Miroski de Oliveira Pinto. The second appointment was today, a clinical appointment by doctor Murilo Melocra. In both appointments, the doctors were very clear, detailed and were excellent in their consultations. On Saturday, 02/08, my wife and I were admitted to the hospital through the emergency ward. We needed obstetric care. The reception was perfect. The nurses were amazing. The doctor who carried out the first assessment did well. But everything fell apart when they told us that there was NO doctor responsible for ultrasounds at the hospital, they were on alert. This specific doctor was supposed to be at the beach, as it took him over an hour to arrive. When he attended to my wife, he treated it as if it were nothing. A cretin. In a moment of total fragility. Irresponsibility on the part of the hospital for not having a team on duty (probably to save a few bucks) and the doctor is certainly from that new generation who only thinks about fundraising. Ultrasound care was vital for us, regardless of whether it changed the result or not. We just wanted an answer. The doctor (whose name I will refrain from mentioning here, but you will find out from the ombudsman) came in, gave the diagnosis and simply left. He left the rest to the other doctor who attended to us first (very well) and to the nurses. I had to go to the Lavosier and Tecnolab laboratories to request a duplicate of the image exams.

I had knee surgery on 6/24. The service was all polite. They always ask you to arrive two hours before surgery completely fasting. Before the surgery I spent time with nursing, with an anesthesiologist and with my doctor. All facilities clean and well organized.
