Ankle impingement is a condition where soft tissues in the ankle become compressed during movement, often due to previous injuries, overuse, or bone spurs. This results in pain, swelling, and restricted range of motion, especially when the ankle is flexed. Treatment includes rest, physical therapy, anti-inflammatory medications, and, in more severe cases, arthroscopic surgery to remove the impinging tissue or bone.
