Laryngeal cancer is a type of malignant tumor that develops in the larynx, or voice box, often originating in the squamous cells that line the inside of the larynx. It is strongly associated with risk factors like smoking, heavy alcohol use, and human papillomavirus (HPV) infection. Treatment typically involves surgery, radiation therapy, and/or chemotherapy, with the approach depending on the stage of the cancer and its location within the larynx.
