You will roll the dice with anesthesiologists at this facility.
I was "assigned" Dr. Traylor. A freakishly large, imposing and intimidating man with zero resemblance of care or compassion.
I'm sure he chose this field because no one would EVER seek his services. His patients haven't a choice. He suggested a female doctor. Best suggestion he's ever made.
In walks Dr. Sarah Cocoma complete with a raging eye infection. This woman SNUCK behind my bed, DISTRACTED me and FORCEFULLY shot VERSED in my IV.
It burns given gently.
To render me unconscious, without asking, warning or care.
Filthy conditions in every area including the elevators.
Stay away from the trauma this place leaves behind.
You've been dutifully warned.

The worst communication.
Terrible gaslighting.
The INEXCUSABLE FILTH in this facility.
It was everywhere.
The waiting room, the bathrooms, the hall was littered with garbage type red biohazard bags.
Even INSIDE my Operating Room...garbage on the floor. When I objected to what I was seeing, they promptly canceled my surgery.
I couldn't get out of that place fast enough...but not before one last gross show of filth, the floor of the elevator was littered with 2x2 gauze pads...soaked in something orange. I quickly pointed it out to my husband so he can see for himself what I was trying to describe. He quickly understood as an employee's foot was standing over some ofthem.
My biggest fears were handled BEAUTIFULLY by this pre-surg staff, they are willing, if able, to accommodate women patients with women doctors/ residents...they allow small gestures of modesty and that is commendable.
And just so you know...all those personal questions they ask you? And all the personal questions you ask them?
EVERYONE CAN HEAR YOU...as there only curtains for privacy. HIPAA laws must be out back on a smoke break with the 3 janitors this place employs.
2 thumbs down and shame on you.

Have been passed around from test to test for 3 months trying to get clearance for surgery without any treatment for my condition. Seems like all they want to do is test and not treat problems. Impossible to contact doctors offices by phone. Ordered tests without telling me. Asked for referral to hand surgeon and they sent me to shoulder specialist. Asked for referral to ear doctor and they sent me to throat doctor. Did multiple tests on heart and all good but they are ordering more tests. Think they are more interested in generating revenue than healthcare

My first bad experience, I have been admitted here several times and my stay had always been good, until today that I already have 6 days admitted with my son here we had a double room where the first nights I was touched by very decent and respectful people, the last two nights I have been touched by a couple with their son who leave the light on until late at night, they spend the day in phone calls and with a very inadequate tone of voice, the husband stays to sleep and has an awful snoring because those that are very difficult For me and my baby to have rest time! I talked to the manager who didn't do anything, I don't talk to people or take the delicacy to even see if she could move us to another room I don't care if it was with another person maybe they weren't as indecent as these which the sick people have told her that please if they can keep their composure and they don't even change! The truth is that I would have liked to have another person to help me and be more condescending with the situation, because I have seen empty rooms since last night even double, but according to the person I spoke they were not available! I'm still here and I can't take a break! As a hospital you need to put some rules like do not let man stay at least in double bedrooms, do not permit loudly noise in the room and for the residents on the rooms to keep respect to others and peaceful space appropriate for recovering!

My sister had surgery at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Her surgeon called me at 11:14 to report that she was out of surgery, and that the recovery room staff would be in touch when we could see her. I did not hear from the recovery room, so I called them.
The desk clerk rudely told me that the nurse would call.
It is now 2:50 - almost 4 hours since my sister left the OR, and I still have not heard a thing from the recovery room nurse. It is inexcusable to treat family members in this way. In addition - they have a one way texting app for communicating with family members - useless, apparently, because they don't use it. I understand nurses can be extremely busy, but it only takes seconds to communicate to worried, waiting loved ones.

If I could give no stars I would this place is absolutely horrendous. My husband is paralyzed and they leave him in his bed no attempts at physical therapy nothing to actually care for him. They did a Foley catheter because it was too inconvenient to do his straight catheter. They leave him ignored at the end of a hallway. The environment is dark and dingy. The parking is a whole other issue on its own. It takes 20/30 minutes for him to be attended to after pushing his call button. They shouldn’t be accepting patients who they aren’t equipped to care for

Absolutely horrible place I do not recommend sending your loved ones here. Before my dad passed we sent him there in hopes that they would take care of him and treat him well because he was very very ill to the point of needing 24/7 care. But, we were terribly wrong the rooms were absolutely disgusting and not being cleaned even the chairs had so much build up I had to deep clean them and the room. The bed they had him in as well was gross and sticky. I unfortunately had to do their job and clean his room everyday. I unfortunately had to also monitor his colostomy bag because they would let it get so full that when they would finally clean when i asked that it overflowed and spilled on the floor. I had help them clean it up because they left it for hours and took them and hour and a half just to get the bag in the first place after i asked them to remove the old filled one with a clean new one. The list goes on unfortunately. In his stay there he also got bed sores i would ask them to help move him often and put pillows under him so that he wouldn’t get bed sores and they never did. The hospital he was at before this was osu. Every hour or two like clockwork osu’s staff would turn him and put pillows under him so he wouldn’t. PAM failed to do this even when I asked especially when I would leave they slacked at taking care of him. I had to move him myself some so that he wouldn’t be uncomfortable. He was in the hospital for months unfortunately and later passed. I’m here 4 months later after his passing to share this because I don’t want this to happen to anyone again. My father didn’t deserve to be treated the way he was at PAM especially being a veteran that served for our country.

They took excellent care of my momma! In a time when time was critical the staff was very quick with their response time. My momma was able to return to her home in a very reasonable amount of time. With out the care and dedication of the staff here she would not be back home with us.

My husbands best friend has been in the Pam Unit for 2 months. Not once was the room cleaned. Floors were so dirty. They would leave their trash laying in the room and on his bed. There was one RN nurse who was meanest uncaring person I have ever seen! They have now moved him to a nursing facility over 4 1/2 hours away that has awful reviews. DO NOT BRING YOUR FAMILY MEMBER HERE!!
If I can give this place 0 or negative I would. This guy named James is a liar, and this lady Rose will not listen to you and dismiss you!
Was on hold for more than 20 minutes, since my brother didn't receive his dinner. This guy named James put us on hold and confirmed that the patient finished his dinner but did not record it, 2 CNAs couldnt remember what food was served or what the patient ate. Spoke with the visitor that was there and confirmed that there were no food.
This lady named Rose, who is the charge nurse after answering the phone told us (without listening what we have to say), that she just gave him a sandwich and some fruits. Mainly to shut us up..
Why did they lie to us and confirmed just to get us off the phone??? They didn't even apologize. If they lie on this little thing, makes me wonder what else they could be lying. This place needs to be closed down or need to replace all the incompetent staff.

This place is an absolute nightmare. One person stood out above the rest and that was Ronnie the CNA. Holly the chief of nursing is a joke and only gives false sense of security but she doesn’t follow through. Most of the nurses are nice, some of the CNAs are helpful. There is absolutely no communication with staff. When you bring up concerns they are brushed under the rug. If you ask a question no one has the answer and they point blame to the next. They bring people in here to die here. Illegal things happen in your loved ones rooms, and the so called chief of nursing is aware. If your loved one is a respiratory patient and on oxygen or a ventilator I suggest you move them to another hospital and fast. I highly suggest if you have family in this hospital you need to be there at all times and keep a close eye on everything they do. They don’t actually care about the patients or the families, they care about the money. Even the staff have made comments that it’s all about the money to this place. Absolute disgrace to the medical community and the sick patients who need actual care and kindness. Im a true believer that we are all captains of our own ship. Life is what you make of it. However some circumstances are influenced by others. I was really worried when the doctors at Carolina East suggested that my brother who had been on a ventilator for 16 days and critically ill be transferred to PAM in Rocky Mt NC. Reading reviews only scared me more. However nothing there was working and he was slowly dying. After much prayer and research we ultimately made the best decision of his life. Only after 4 days he is eating and walking. A total miracle. When we first got here I was a little skeptic. Everything seemed old school and I wasn’t sure if I had made the right decision. But within hours I felt so comfortable confident and at ease. These people are so nice and caring. Like every hospital they have some that aren’t as good as others but for the most part we have not had a problem yet. The doctors and therapy teams are absolutely amazing. This is the first facility that encourages family members participation. They provide a place to sleep with your love one and meals all at no cost to the family.A shower and private bathroom was in our room for our convenience. My brother has been sick for over a month and for the first time I am hopeful. Thank you PAM y’all have been awesome 👏 😊🥰

My brother received excellent care last month. He was only there for about two or three weeks but the care and overall service he got was exceptional. During dinner time, we were offered dinner (which was delicious). His Second Floor nurses not only attended to his physical care but addressed his overall well-being too. This was instrumental at how fast he got better.
Thank y'all again for taking such good care of him.

From the minute the referral was made until the successful discharge, the PAM facility and staff exceeded my expectations. I have been a nurse for over thirty years and this has been the best experience I have ever seen/had at a facility. Patient placement at PAM was the right decision. I would highly recommend it!

Our loved one was at PAM in Sarasota for over a month in respiratory rehab. The entire team was excellent. They were professional and compassionate. The environment was clean and welcoming to visitors. By the time my parent was discharged we knew a lot of staff by name and had gotten to know some of the staff through their friendly conversation.
I understand that every person's experience in this type of setting will be different, but my family highly recommends this facility based on our shared experiences there.

A friend of mine recomended PAM hospital for my son who was in ICU for a week and needed an additional treatment and monitoring of his condition. From his admittion to his discharge, our experience at PAM was excellent. Staff members are professional, kind and caring. It was easy to obtain info and speak with my son's doctors, nurces and case workers. Everybody showed a great deal of concern for the well being of my son, and we both felt that he was safe and in good hands there. Everyone, without exception, was helpful and treated us with understanding, compassion and respect. In addition, my son's room was always clean and sanitised.
Thank you all for your hard work and dedication to your profession, patients and their families.

I was in a coma and on a ventilator due to Covid at Sarasota Memorial last year from January 2022 until the end of March. I was transferred to PAM, where I woke up and recovered for about a month. I felt very blessed to have those on the staff there taking care of me during that life-changing event. I have gone from deaths door and not being able to talk or walk to being fully functional and back at work for over a year now. Thanks again for doing a great job!
