Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is the nation's first hospital devoted exclusively to the care of children. Since our start in 1855, CHOP has been the birthplace for countless breakthroughs and dramatic firsts in pediatric medicine. Built on a foundation of delivering safe, high-quality, family-centered care, the Hospital has fostered medical discoveries and innovations that have improved pediatric healthcare and saved countless children’s lives. Today, families facing complex conditions come to CHOP from all over the world, and our compassionate care and innovation has repeatedly earned us a spot on the U.S. News & World Report's Honor Roll of the nation's best children's hospitals.

The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia stands out as one of the top medical facilities in the region, boasting an expansive infrastructure dedicated to the well-being of children. The emergency department, in particular, provides exceptional and compassionate care to both young patients and their caregivers. My recent encounter with the hospital left me amazed; as soon as we checked in, they promptly examined my child and initiated treatment. In a matter of minutes, my son began to feel better, displaying increased vitality and alertness. Despite catering to a large population, the hospital maintains impeccable standards of hygiene and cleanliness. I have every confidence that they will continue their outstanding service to the community.

CHOP has been caring for our son since January this year (inpatient). He's been VERY ill, and this facility has been top notch since day 1. Any other hospital would have sent him home long ago. They are determined to help him get well despite Insurance or financial issues. They have put his BEST INTEREST to heart and truly care for him like no other, like their own. From the Drs, nurses, techs, social services, administration, food services, and all the way across the board with security, ALL STAFF & EMPLOYEES..THEY ALL ARE #1 in the country for a (multiple) reasons. A most heartfelt sincere THANK YOU & GOD BLESS CHOP for all they do..5 stars × infinity Update: It's now July 11th.and our son is finally improving! CHOP has NEVERRR given up..CHOP gave us hope when we had NONE!.ZERO! AND NOW...WHAT CAN WE SAY!?? TY LORD FOR ALL YOU DO..AND TY FOR GUIDING US TO CHOP!! NO WORDS CAN REPLACE HOW WE FEEL ABOUT THIS PLACE! WE ARE FINALLY STARTING TO GET OUR SON BACK! FOREVER GRATEFUL AND TRULY BLESSED AGAIN! THE FIRST TIME WHEN HE WAS BORN...AND NOW...BLESSED AGAIN! 🙏 (MOM debated on sharing a pic when he was ill and not with us so to speak..you can see by the eyes..he was not with us..CHOP even sent in haircutting services to spruce him after a long illness and not being able to leave home for a simple routine haircut..the more recent pics after his new do..you can see LIFE In there, behind the eyes..our son is coming back to us..CHOP (with help by the Almighty first) is responsible for this..TY CHOP...YOU ARE #1 FOR A REASON..GOD BLESS..) AND IF ANYONE KNOWS A CHILD IN NEED OF HELP...FOR ANYTHING OR ANY REASON..WALK THROUGH THE EMERGENCY ROOM DOORS...GIVE THEM A SHOT..SEE WHAT HAPPENS..🙏🫰😉👍💙 Oct. 11, 2023.. **NEWEST & MOST RECENT UPDATE** It's now middle October & CHOP coordinated the impossible for our son Ryan..CHOP came through & located a facility in Harrisburg..finally after a no first time round..we couldn't locate any place on the entire east coast able to help, so we started searching west coast and Down south. Fate has it cut Ryan was transported to Harrisburg & getting more brain therapy and treatment..he is starting to respond finally and is now having conversations again (small ones and few) but he's understanding and responding appropriately...he looks more healthy and is anxious to come home..CHOP thought outside the box..never gave up and was determined to help..AND BE SUCCESSFUL!! They did a lot of things CHOP has never done before...because that's what it took..and they even made an arrangement to have Ryan return to CHOP once discharged as a final checkup and monitor for however long they deem necessary...before they can say..."RYANS READY TO RETURN HOME."...which eases my mind and heart. We are finally otw to a quality, happy and healthy life it seems for everyone..and we will ALWAYS be forever grateful to CHOP AND THE ENTIRE TEAM..All we wanted was for Ryan to have a chance at getting well..the right way..and having some kind of quality life...it's all any parent wants...CHOP gave us that and most importantly they brought Ryan back to us...TY CHOP...you'll always be in our hearts forever...💕💕💙

Very friendly staff and amazing doctors. The information desk is very helpful. The front lobby is well designed and honestly fun to be in due to it's design: there is a meandering ramp that goes up several stories with interesting interactive stops on the way. The lobbies on each floor are also all well laid out: they have great views outside and inside were designed with children and comfort in mind. The plaza out front and the cafeteria/Cafe are both relaxing places to recharge.
