Establishment of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University was an upgrade of the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine and Research (IPGMR). IPGMR was established in December 1965, as a Government-controlled postgraduate institute for medical research and studies. It was housed in the now defunct Hotel Shahbag, once the biggest hotel in Dhaka. The hotel got its name Shahbag from the name of the neighborhood. Before becoming a university, its name was Institute of Post Graduate Medicine and Research. It is located in Shahbagh, Dhaka. Right next to it there are two another institution these are 'Bangladesh National Meuseum' and 'Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BARDEM)'. The Institute of Post Graduate Medicine and Research (IPGMR) was established in Dhaka in 1965 to provide postgraduate courses in medical education. Although responsible for post-graduate teaching and research, this institution did not have degree-granting powers. It was entrusted to Dhaka University. Dhaka University used to offer MBBS degree in many medical colleges including IPGMR program. On April 30, 1998, it was converted into a full-fledged medical university through a parliamentary ordinance. Although the MBBS course was introduced, the institution earlier offered only post-graduate education. The new university was named after Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. This university has a hospital which is equipped to provide quality treatment. The university has a total of five multi-storied buildings; Block A, B, C, D and Cabin Block. Education, research and treatment run parallel in this medical university.

Additionally, the canteen's occasional service of subpar, even spoiled, food is a concern. Despite these drawbacks, the hospital's cleanliness and luxury contribute positively to the overall experience.

It's pathetic that they don't follow serial at all for Dr. Momenuzzaman. Staff are busy to give their known persons serial. It's costly but the service is below the belt. They don't care about patients suffering at all. It's a chaos in the management. If possible find another doctor to get proper treatment. Highly not recommended. Also before giving Bill, check the paper properly. They always try to put some extra called service cost which was never serve. If you are admitted there and take any package, try to pay the bill before 5 pm otherwise you need to pay the next day charges as well.

Most probably and this is one of the biggest hospitals in dhaka city. They have a big area. Their service is good. Here the cost is so high. If you are a middle or lower class family, you can't make an effort. It's funny but true that this hospital is mainly made for the rich. In front of the hospital they have an emergency unit. It's very useful. They have so many specialist doctors. Overall their service is too good.

Most popular private hospital in Bangladesh. But this place is best for financial harassment... The country is poor , but they made this hospital for extremely rich people. Everyone can't afford it. The charge of every service is expensive.... It will be okay if they provide better services for this kinda amount. But they don't give the proper service.. And if you want to visit a doctor for your disease . Make sure the doctor is a doctor not a businessman.

This is one of the best hospital in our country. This is very popular for there quick and unique service. Emergency response are very Quality full. I was take there service and satisfied. Well Furnished! BUT!!! But the management is still low. And one more thing , medicine price inside the Hospital is high. Hospital management should work on pricing and in the hygienic section. according to new rule, you need to pay a portion of your bill regularly and you need to buy medicine separately.

Although the new building is in construction, it serves a great deal to its patients. I wonder how a private hospital serves better than all other big names with great ratings. Most of the local and poor people heavily depend on this hospital. I think the hospital is going to be the best one in Chattogram in no time. I bet the service from the expert doctors will make you feel at home. If you can consider the old clerks, you can feel free to take the service from here. Tried a lot to give a serial for Dr. Panchayat(pshyciatric) but not found any serial.On the other hand at parkview hospital ,it's easy to give serial for any doctor.

Bit too much. The lift as slow as ever. Cabins are especially prizey.

This is one of the best hospital in Bangladesh, but the price is too much high or expensive. So if you want to come to this hospital you have calculate extra money the as usual. Besides you have to wait in a long line before any desk. This was so disappointing. Overall it was a good experience for me there. 🥀

First of all let me say it and clear it, that 1star only for most of the billing counter staff specially on level 3 (both side). Doctors, nurses and treatment are good in this hospital. Only problem I found so far with the billing counter staff on level 3. They are rude and arrogant with very less manners. Again this review is NOT for the Doctors or nurses or neither their treatment.

It's a good hospital, considering the quality of the average hospitals in Bangladesh. You can find some good consultants here. The rooms and lobbies are clean. The nurses and duty doctors are available 24x7, responsible and are cooperative. Almost all of the necessary tests and medicines are available in-house. The rooms don't have an emergency button for the patients to call for help, so for server patients, sometime must be there with the patient always. The cabins have 2 beds for this reason. The room rents don't include meals. But apparently, they don't have any restrictions for outside food or even for visitors. Being a well reputed and popular hospital, it's tight to get a cabin here. If you follow the instructions provided by the admission counter, you may get a cabin in 2-3 days. No parking available, only street side. Managing a spot sometimes seem impossible in busy day time.

Ibn sina Hospital( ইবনে সিনা হাসপাতাল) is one of the oldest private hospital in dhaka. They have other branches in Dhaka and district level also. This hospital has some top level physician and surgeon. Moreover this hospital has all kinds of facilities depending on rate, Hospital bed rent ward= from 1900 tk Cabin bed = from 2700 tk Vip cabin bed= from 6500/- They have all kinds of lab diagnostic and imaging center, everyone can get 25% discount in every test. Because of a trusty institions they give some subsidy on test. Their cardiac,pediatric,stroke, gynecologist, unit is very resourceful.

Cleanliness and service are good. But their billing system is a complete mess. People are waiting for hours to pay the bill, but not even one bill is right. Even after my own patient's bill comes to the counter, it takes 1 hour to pay. What kind of system is it? Management of the hospital should improve the speedy billing process to eliminate suffering of patients.
