Establishment of the Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University was an upgrade of the Institute of Postgraduate Medicine and Research (IPGMR). IPGMR was established in December 1965, as a Government-controlled postgraduate institute for medical research and studies. I've been to this hospital several times and they've always been very helpful and caring. I especially like how there's an English translator to help during your appointments. He or she stays with you and alleviates the stress I'd have if I didn't have one. I've also been to the hospital regarding my ankle and the orthopedic specialist was very thorough and spoke English well. I'm thankful for this hospital and its staff. :)

AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!! That's first and foremost. From the moment we stepped through the hospital doors, we were in for the best hospital treatment one could have! Mr. Park took us to our room and had us settle in. Right afterwards, Mr. Park went right to work and had me do whatever tests we could get done that evening. The following morning we finished up all the tests and exams before Ms. Sabina took over. She was there to guide and translate for us alongside Mr. Park. The entire hospital staff and nurses had the best hospitality I've ever encountered, and i thank them for everything they have done to make our accommodations more than comfortable. I would also like to thank all the technicians from MRI, X-ray, and Lab for making it pain free as possible. The cleaning staff here are way better than most hotels I've stayed at, they are kind, polite and greet you with a big smile everday. Before my surgery, i couldn't stand or walk for more than 10 minutes as i had a nerve and spine injury and I would love to thank most especially my doctor... Dr. Seok Kwon Kang for taking care of that problem and giving me another chance to walk that extra mile! Last but not least, I want to thank Kang Dong Orthopedic Hospital for a wonderful experience and opportunity for taking on this risky surgery. I visited you on the date of 22/8/2023 for a gestational diabetes test. A full month after the test, I was informed that I have gestational diabetes. It is worth mentioning that this delay has negatively impacted my health and the health of the fetus. I would like to point out that I discovered this problem during my subsequent visit to the doctor on 19/9/2023, where Dr. Alia Adwan explained that the delay was due to the staff member responsible for notifying patients being on leave. I find these reasons unconvincing and not reflecting the professionalism expected from a hospital of Mediclinic’s size and reputation. Therefore, I hold the hospital fully responsible for any issues that may arise for the child or fetus due to this delay.

Mediclinic Arabic doctors lack courtesy when treating Asians. They tend to dismiss the information you provide about your illness, interrupting with a display of their knowledge instead of listening. They frequently attribute symptoms to viral infections without thorough investigation. I encountered an instance where two of their doctors claimed I didn't have tonsils, yet they couldn't explain why my throat still hurt when I drank water. This experience was particularly disappointing when seeking assistance from their ENT specialists. Additionally, there's a sense of judgment towards Asians, evident in the distinction made between locals and outsiders. The communication implies assumptions about affordability. I would kindly suggest maintaining a balanced representation of Asian doctors in each department to promote fair and unbiased healthcare practices.

UPDATE. It's been 1 month, and still no one has contacted me from the hospital. They are obviously very concerned about their patients. Went to the physiotherapist Ponnu for a shoulder problem. He was distracted and vague, but promised he could fix the problem. After about 5 or 6 sessions, all I got was advice to go to his YouTube Channel, and a permanent scar from the burn of the heat pad he put on me. He did not apologise, but said that that area of my shoulder was too boney...? Where are the professionals who care about their jobs?

A very well experienced, talented and down to earth Orthopaedic doctor that put his life long skill into saving my limp. Not only he is being helpful to my needs during my recent admission, he also explained in details about my surgery and conditions. Yet after the surgery, I do not suffer any severe pain and I recover well.

It’s been around 3 months since my second cataract operation and I’m still marvelling at going around without glasses, for the first time in almost 60 years! Thank you for the follow up too. The midwife here are very friendly and willing to teach you how to feed baby if you are first time daddy/mummy. Especially the gentle Indian midwife lady, very knowledgeable on how to take care babies and teach my wife on latching the baby. Best things is the car park area are free. Although space is limited, but security guard able to guide you to park and they allow you to double park by providing phone number. So if someone getting their car, they able to call you. Such a lovely and super friendly specialist hospital. Just like their name “博爱医院”. A hospital that filled with love and care.

I recently had a surgery there. The staff really made it as easy as possible. I had a delay with my insurance and the surgical coordinator Claire was incredibly compassionate and tried her best to sort it out so that I was able to have the operation as scheduled. The surgery went really smoothly, thanks to Dr. Zakir and the rest of the surgical team. The nurses (Rose, Reshma, April and many others!) who took care of me were really helpful and made my stay as comfortable as it possible can be. Overall it's been a highly positive experience. We were privileged to attend an antenatal workshop arranged by the hospital for to be parents. It was a day long workshop and carefully addressed all the concerns and worries a new parent may have. It was an interactive and a very insightful workshop. Many thanks to the team working at Mediclinic Welcare for their compassion towards new parents. Bad management. I spent time from 12:00 pm to 18:30 pm for a simple health check-up which took longer than some public hospitals. I waited for hour just to pay the bill because the staff forgot and skip my queue. The rest of the service was okay.

Overall, the doctors, nurses, and staffs here treats me really nice. The place looks new and clean. I'm staying the premium ward, the doctor came to make sure hows the symptoms going everyday, he's super friendly🥹. The food are clean and fresh(I usually have shrimp for choice of proteins).

The worst hospital ever, if you’re planning on visiting them you will need to wait hours to see the doctor and while you’re waiting a lot of patients will just get in before you even when you came first! There’s no communication or coordination between the doctors and the nurses and the receptionists, if you’d like to spend all your day in here waiting to get it then it’s the right place for you, otherwise might as well go to another hospital

Wiated for more than half an hour for the otolaryngology in the morning which they have only one person to handle. One of the worst services in the lab and xray where there are no reception or order. You could wait for hours without even being busy.

Negative experience at lab as well parking, it takes average time to blood draw more than hour!! and struggle to find parking, no response or action, although we highlighted serval times to management safe your time and avoided it.

Long delays even with appointments. Not quite sure on why they use appointments.

Efficient and helpful staff. Their app is also excellent in updating results for lab tests or radiology tests. Me and my family have had a good experience in this hospital.

the pregnancy doctors there are very bad unless one man doctor. specially the doctor sukainah is a not good doctor just want take quick action for making surgery by fast time. and for following up will give only few minutes to talk and some subjects of pregnancy are very lack,need go out to another hospitals. ,no responsibility. no care patient. experience there is very hard and complexed.

The one star here ⭐️ is for the new building and equipment. Time management at the ER is a mystery. The staff are nice but will X- ray you for anything even a fever !. This one experience makes me concerned about the stock price and the company performance!
