Jaw tumor treatment in 2 Dentistry and Oncology clinics in Florence

They requested that I leave a review, so I do so, albeit with some hesitation. I arrived in Florence with a cracked crown and they were very kind in seeing me, extremely quick and accommodating. The office was clean, and their staff was always kind, communicative, and reassuring, for which I am grateful. They were patient when I was indecisive (they convinced me that in paying more for a root canal, I would avoid future pain and sensitivity in the damaged area, and I did ultimately opt to do so, for a total of €1300). Fitting the crown was difficult, as I suspect is the norm, but at some point it seems they nicked on one of my neighboring teeth (or, hopefully, perhaps they left a dab of cement that remains there after over a month), and it required 3-4 different visits to adjust it. Anyway, the crown remained high enough where my other teeth wouldn't touch when I closed my mouth, which was so maddening. The dentist seemed like she didn't really believe me, and I left each time thinking, "OK, maybe I'm just being too sensitive and I'll get used to it." Finally, upon my last visit, the "main" dentist took over with great fanfare, and he was much more thorough, even polishing the surface of the crown, which made it much more comfortable in my mouth (which, by the way, I'm surprised the other dentist never did). Unfortunately, while the fit is better than before, it still does stick out every-so-slightly when I close my mouth, and now hurts when I eat. I'm hoping eventually I will get used to it and the soreness will go away, and I know that they would offer to try to help adjust it again, but after so many tries I just don't see the point anymore. Perhaps I should have articulated myself better when I was there -- I guess it speaks to the limitations of my Italian, or to me not wanting to complain too much -- but at this point after two months, my time in Italy is ending, and will have to visit my old dentist in the USA to see what's up. I wish I didn't have to do so, as it's going to end up costing much more in time and money in the long run, but that was the risk I took. Anyway, I hate to leave a negative review, but that's where I stand now.

The process was smooth, their facility was modern and clean, and the dentists were exceptionally skilled. I'm so pleased with the experience!

We had an emergency whilst we were travelling Italy. It was for both myself, pain & broken tooth, and my wife, pain, infection and possible crown. They booked us in as an emergency and were able to complete the work. Filling for me & tooth removal and implant for my wife. Crown will be inserted when we get back home. They speak English, which made things so much easier & explained the process. They were so professional, friendly, with minimal or no pain, and completed the work whilst we were in Florence. I have to thank to doctors and nurses for saving my fiancé’s life when having acute pancreatitis. Everyone was very nice and kind, there was no problem talking in English, doctor and nurses were all very emphaticand kind. The emergency came in 30 minutes, after arriving to hospital my fiancée got help immediately. Thank you for doing your job on 100%!

One the best hospitals in Tuscany. Particularly, I’ve found the staff incredibly helpful and emphatic. Differently from other places in Italy where foreigners are often looked down and staff doesn’t even try to speak English or give simple directions, I’ve personally witnessed nurses trying their best to give clear concise communication in English to help out foreigners looking for a specific exam.

Excellent, well explained care by Dr. John Barton. Accepts international tourists at very fair prices. He is from the UK which made our communication very easy.

My first day in Rome of a two week vacation I had a dental issue. I contacted American Dental and they were able to see me the same day. Dr. Loredana Carnovale Winter was wonderful. She was able to correct my issue and the price was reasonable. Thank you Doctor Winter!

Waiting times of more than 9 hours!! Cannot recommend going there if there is any other option. Absolutely understaffed. No air conditioning in the waiting room. The vending machine only takes coins, therefore big risk for dehydration. Haven’t had a worse experience in a hospital ever.

Being a tourist in Bologna and having to attend Pronto Soccorso was daunting, however my experience of the treatment I received was first class. Most of the staff spoke English at a level that I could understand what was happening regarding my treatment, from doctors to porters. I am very grateful for the medical care that was provided during a time of stress and pain.

Bizzare standarts for European Hospital, emergency waits are due 6 to 12 hours.Shortage of staff is visible and maintenance of the hospital is bad, terrible experience.Shocking

I'm sure the doctors are good, but reception is slow inefficient most of the windows are closed and the few people there are are gossiping with each other instead of accepting patients. I went 3hours early to be sure to have my prebooked Cardiology appointment and arrived at the nurses desk at cardiology an hour before as I needed an ECG. The rude nurse laughed at my booking and asked me if I booked it myself. Yes I answered but I need the booked ECG as that's what is writen on the doctors door. She threw my sheet to one side and said we will call you 45minutes later noone called I went to ask her again. She told me to sit down. They the 4nurses were all chatting together and doing nothing. Terrible experience, completely incompetent.

This hospital is amazing. They are always timely and take the best care of their patients. I love all the nurses and doctors. They are kinda and attentive. I really appreciate everyone here. Hearts ❤️

My mother became ill while we were traveling in Italy. Our tour guide sent us to Salvatore Mundi where my mother received excellent care. Y the staff, nurses and doctor. They took care of her right away and the costs of tests, medicine and a private room on a virtually private floor cost a mere $16! Wish we had that type of care and cost here in the States.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. DO NOT COME HERE. I had a terrible experience at SMIH. I thought that I would be in good care as the embassy and my university recommend them as the best place to go while abroad in Rome. I had little to no translators the entire time and was very confused as to what I was being given and uncomfortable about it in all honesty. I have NO privacy at all in my room as nurses would come barging in whenever they needed to without a knock which was also very uncomfortable to me. They did not accommodate to me and I had to practically beg for water and help as my fever started to rise. They were also not helpful when I called translators to help me during the process. The nurses were very vague and rude. I used the best Italian I could and would use google translate to help me with the rest and it still unfortunately not good enough. I was fortunate enough to find a Spanish speaking nurse and it was the first time I had some form of comfort. The main doctor seeing me only saw me once and it was an u pleasant visit as it was just to scold me for wanting to leave. Then when I finally was able to be discharged the nurses and staff were rude, did not give me my diagnosis, my results, follow up or discharge papers. They literally told me “no go home”. Already being frustrated with the treatment I received, alone and confused being in a completely different country trying to revive help I did as they said and just left. Which then later caused me a lot of issues when trying to revive help else where.
