Nerve graft repair in 1 Neurosurgery clinic in Lithuania

From my initial contact with customer services, everything just flowed smoothly. From entering reception, having the tests and X-Rays, having the operation on my knee, recovering, and being taken to my apartment, then going through the rehab program. Everything has been worked out to run as smoothly as possible. The cars are there to meet you at the airport. They come every day and take you to the clinic and back to your place of stay. The drivers are all polite with lots of patience. I cannot praise Nordorthopaedics highly eneough. Wonderful service from all involved.

My GP was very sceptical when I told him that I was considering going to Lithuania to solve my knee problem. He immediately put me in touch with university friend who orthopedic surgeon. After a one to one consultation with him it became clear that private medical surgery in the UK (more specifically Scotland) was going to be very expensive with a minimal rehabilitation plan. I then contacted Nord through the "contact us" form on their website. Emilija phoned me the next day offering to answer any questions that I had. From then on, the process just seemed to happen. There was no hard sell or problems, just solutions! The medical team were very thorough about medical history, as they do not want anything to go wrong! I confirmed with Emilija, my date for surgery. My wife and I then booked the flight from Edinburgh and self-catering accommodation. One of Nord's drivers picked up us from Kaunas airport and took us to our apartment. From then on all transport was communicated by WhatsApp. We were collected for the pre-op check at the clinic. The X-Rays, blood tests etc were carried out incredibly efficiently with no waiting around. I was asked then to fill in all the forms and pay! On the morning of the operation, I was collected and taken to the clinic. I was shown to my room. I was to share with another gentleman who had had his partial knee replacement the previous day. I was prepared for the operation in a very professional way that I didn't even have a feeling of trepidation! The next thing I knew I awoke in the bed, with the sedation having worn off but not the epidural - very strange not to be able to feel anything below the waist! The first and second nights were fairly painful. The nursing team expect to be called whenever they are needed - they don't tend to check up unless prescribing meds or bringing food. The physio came round the day after the op for walking lessons on a pair of crutches, including down and up stairs. On day 2, another X-Ray and follow-up consultation with the surgeon confirmed my discharge; I was taken back to my apartment. I was able to walk to have some lunch on Liberty Avenue (the main street). For the next 15 days, I was picked up for physio, which included dressing changes and pain meds top-up if required. After 5 days, i was told to leave one crutch at home! within 7 days I was walking unaided, but did overdo it when my step counter logged that I had walked over 7km. The physio sessions are imperative for a smooth recovery. Mostly they are gentle and controlled, but can be brutal! The exercises are combined with cryotherapy, homework exercises and the use of icepacks. I would recommend at least 12 days physio. The journey home on the plane was less painful than the outbound one! 20 days post op, I am doing the exercises religiously. It is still sore at times, but certainly better than knee I left Scotland with less than 3 weeks ago. I drove my car on day 19! Before reviewing Nord Clinic, I wanted to finish at least 10 weeks of post-surgery rehab to see how I was doing after my total hip replacement in mid-September. I am walking much better, including stairs. The previous pain and problems are gone. I am back at the gym, and now planning without fear a hiking and mountain biking trip in New Zealand. My experience with Nord Clinic was vastly positive, with only a few very minor glitches. They lived up to their reputation on Facebook and elsewhere. Should I have family members or friends in need of the services which Nord Clinic offers, I would 100% recommend Nord Clinic. Now that I have recovered my mobility, I am realizing that the surgery is turning out to be one of the best decisions I have made in quite some time. As a final note, my stay for Rehab was at the Radisson Hotel -- which I can also recommend as a solid choice.

Give a birth here on September. All employees were very professional, helpful and nice to me, during the birth and during the staying.

The Nurse Lady at the Evidence Pacientu was so rude, I was trying to speak in Czech even tho I understand just a little, she was literally shouting at me, while I asked how long after doctor is coming because I was going through a pain, She really doesn’t know how a nurse should talk with a patient who comes for a emergency treatment. It was such a bad experience.😕 No complains to the doctor, he was so helpful and Understanding.

The ophthalmology emergency service of the hospital, situated at floor 16, is quite bad,in the sense of the attention from the part of nurses and doctors, I went several times, and just two doctors from 6 where nice to me, I don’t speak czech perfectly and I was trying to make me understand talking in czech, majority of them didn’t want to understand me.... recommending sant Anne.. the crew there it’s seem more profesional and trying to find a solution to my health problem.

Hernia operation. I had a hernia for years. It started to be worst so i decided to go for operation. Waiting time to get operated was 4 months. Not great. Not great ... I read somewhere it is result of cutting staff. Experience with the doctors was however great. I was operated by a young Female doctor M B (thanks again you are great and talented) I stayed altogether 3 days in hospital (one day before operation and 2 days after ) they removed 2 hernias, one lomparoscopy and one net stitching. The nurses were great and helpers too. I would have liked being helped to the door for exit process. I walked out with spinning head. Very very very bad experience was front desk administrative nurse. miss J. She either hate people or her job. Who knows maybe both. Her approach and the words used were conflictual and distasteful even if i was nice. Pain was very manageable 3/10

Crazy person on the line. Just not normal to talk to people like that. Why do you work in the hospital if you hate them so much?

I went to this hospital several months ago to run some tests. Upon trying to reschedule an appointment for a checkup, I was told that they do not accept foreigners, despite the fact I have Czech residency, and was referred elsewhere. The level of unprofessionalism is frankly appalling; it appears the staff at this hospital has forgotten the fall of communism was over 30 years ago.

Emergency on sunday morning, professional servis, all in one place, x-rays, ultrasonic, labs, all pretty fast, nice nurses. Do not use nearest first toilet at ground floor, use the other one, check out the paper, otherwise... In general, best solution, if you need a help urgently.

The worst hospital I have ever visited, the staff is thinking that they can figure what problems are important and which are not. They just thought I have nothing important to work with, so just said to visit another doctor. The next day morning another doctor said that I should have come earlier 🫠 I hope they will be treated like they treat other people!

No complaint about medical stuff. They are kind and very professional as always, however woman at reception with red hair at that info point kiosk at entrance is very arrogant and rude not only to us but while i was waiting there same behavior with all other patients.

The worst hospitalization I've ever had. Mean nurses, no one wants to help, one time I was yelling for help from 16:00 to 20:30 to only be said to shut up. BIG THUMBS DOWN

Very disappointing experience. My mom fell very sick while on a bus traveling from Austria to Poland through Czech Republic. She fainted, vomited, had seizures and was unconscious for 40 minutes while waiting for the ambulance. Ambulance took her to this hospital, wasted time on checking her insurance instead of helping first and foremost, and made her wait for a check up for an hour in an emergency department. Later, after receiving medical help my mom felt very thirsty and asked for a glass of water. She had to ask several times different staff, and all of them didn’t bother to help and just said there is no drinking water available (however, my mom could see two bottles of water on a table and an electric kettle, probably the staff’s, but obviously they didn’t want to share). My mom felt dizzy and weak, and yet had to get up and go to toilet to drink tap water. Just after 2 hours of staying in the hospital the staff asked my mom to vacate the bed even though she still felt very dizzy and nauseous. Just a reminder: she was in a unknown city in a foreign country took off the bus because of an emergency medical accident. The hospital staff couldn’t care less, they just asked her to leave because according to them she already “got all needed medical assistance” and “ready to leave”. She had to quickly book a hotel room and leave. When she asked to help at least with getting a taxi, the staff again acted reluctantly and didn’t help in the end. Unempathetic, unhospitable and unprofessional. Me and my family members have experienced medical assistance a few times in several countries but never had such a bad treatment.

Definitely among one of the best teaching university hospitals in the Country, spacious, with a lot of subspecialities including cardiology, gastroenterology, ENT, etc..

Very efficient. Arrive and take a ticket then wait to be called. They take your details and then you are seen according to your needs. English is spoken.

We came with an urgent emergency during the night. They rejected us and told us we should go to the doctor the next day. Extremely unfriendly and the „doctor“ was completely overslept. We didn’t receive any medical assistance

The best ER experience I have had in my entire life. I saw the doctors about 5 times for different tests, each time it took maximum 2 minutes to be called in. I was constantly being taken care of, had things explained to me, always asked if my problem was getting any better. All of the doctors and nurses I saw spoke perfect English. Huge props to MUDr. Marek Žižka and MUDr. Klara Brezovska, they both did an incredible job. As for the prices; I have VZP and the only thing I had to pay for was 90 kč for the ER entry, other than that, everything was free. Stellar experience, extremely satisfied, truly recommend this place.

When I first came to the hospital, the reception was empty so after waiting 10 minutes a security guard had to direct me to a emergency room where I gave the staff my papers, after I was called inside the staff was extremely rude, asking me why am I going so late for a emergency and why I couldn't go yesterday. So after the doctor took some samples of my blood I had to go for a rentgen, where the staff was nice. After that I went back to a emergency room where I had to wait for 2 hrs (I was the only patient in the room for the 2 hrs). After the 2 hrs and 20 mins passed I politely asked the staff if I had to wait much longer. The rude sister told me it's going to be when it's going be now take a seat and wait.... I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone. Especially the emergency section. Truly the worst experience.
