Helping people with heart disease by providing the best possible medical care using the very latest technology – that’s the mission of the medical and nursing staff at the German Heart Center Berlin. Helping patients and their families, supporting doctors in their day-to-day practice, funding research and providing information on the possibilities offered by cardiac medicine – that has been the mission of the Friends of the German Heart Center Berlin for more than 30 years. Though every patient at the German Heart Center Berlin receives the best possible care, budgets for special technologies, science and ongoing education are nonetheless often very limited. That’s where the Friends of the German Heart Center Berlin comes in – a role it pursues with great dedication. What we do We fund life-saving heart surgeries which are not covered by health insurance. We support campaigns to save children from all over the world whose parents are without financial means and who therefore have no chance of being treated in their home country. We fund state-of-the-art technology that enables doctors to offer patients highly accurate, low-invasive diagnostic techniques and treatments. We support scientific work at the German Heart Center Berlin – by supporting ongoing training, research projects and medical publications. We also support efforts to inform and educate the general public about cardiac medicine by running information events and producing brochures and films.
