Had an emergency medical issue while visiting from the U.S.A. and this hospital was great! We particularly appreciated the great security personnel. They were so helpful in getting us in the door, translating, and helping us find a good place to park our trailer. They were also so kind while we were nervously waiting for the evaluation!

Last january DR. RAÚL BATISTE VÁZQUEZ diagnosed me with HPV. He told me I needed a biopsy at my cervix, probably followed by a small procedure, to remove the infected cells. And that it had to happen soon. I knew, my travel insurance would`t cover the procedure so, all of this was a very stressful situation. Fortunately, with the help of two other doctors, I found out that the form of the virus I had was completely harmless and did`t need any sort of treatment. As I later found out, it is even possible to just google the type of the virus I had to find out that it is harmless. So I have to conclude DR. RAÚL BATISTE VÁZQUEZ, was`t just misinformed but actually tried to scam my into the operation for the money.

Horrible service. Showed up here with a case of Food Poisoning and was turned away because my symptoms were "similar" to Covid-19. The front desk person told me to wait outside, didn't even ask me simple questions such as if I had a cough or shortness of breath and after "speaking with her supervisor" told me I had to go to the General Hospital because Velmar was "full". Such a lie! If it was full, why wasn't I turned away when I first showed up? I went to Clinica San Fernando after and was seen by a great doctor there. My cardiologist and urologist have their offices at Velmar and I will let them know I won't be able to attend our appointments anymore at this hospital, because they deny service to people in need.
