Every day, across all three of our sites (Mercy Hospital in Epsom; Ascot Hospital in Remuera, and our Endoscopy clinics in Epsom and in Takapuna, North Shore), more than 650+ staff believe that delivering the best care possible means leaving no stone unturned. While every year, together with committed Specialists of the highest calibre, we treat many thousands of patients with utmost care.MercyAscot’s heritage goes back over 117 years to when Mercy Hospital started to provide healthcare services to the people of Auckland. Located in Auckland, we operate across three sites: Mercy Hospital in Epsom; Ascot Hospital in Remuera; and our Endoscopy service based in Epsom and Takapuna, North Shore. MercyAscot is owned by parent company Healthcare Holdings Limited. We are now one of New Zealand’s largest private surgical facilities, with 22 operating theatres, a high dependency unit and an intensive care unit. Ascot Integrated Hospital opened in April 1999. With private hotel-style rooms and greater operating capacity than any other private hospital in the city, Ascot challenged the public perception of the scope and potential of private medicine.

we have been going to ascot medical since my boys were 5 yrs old. Went in today to have my older son who is 22 now have his throat checked. Went to reception and gave our name and address. We weren’t asked any other questions so since we’ve been there before I assumed all details are up to date. We were told to sit then 10 mins later nurse saw us. After that we waited 5 hours to be seen. In between I went to reception several times to ask where we were on the list. Was told 3rd then 1 hour later were told 2nd then 2 hours later we were still 2nd. After 5 hours were finally seen by doctor for a whole 10 mins or so. We went to reception to pay thinking we are enrolled and eligible since we were in the past. Was told the total was $160. Omg $160 for sore throat some antibiotics and Panadol. After trying to get an explanation from the receptionist as to why she still didn’t clearly explain. All she said was that you haven’t been here in a while and you’re not enrolled or eligible. I said to her we’ve been coming here for years and if it’s not then why didn’t u let me know that before we wouldn’t have waited coz I can’t afford that. We thought we were paying $39. She didn’t seem to care in helping us or to correct the problem. So we paid and left. There goes the grocery money for the week because the receptionist was too lacking in communication and couldn’t be bothered to help. She didn’t look too sure herself a to what she needed to do. So please before you spend time waiting ask for the charges and fees for yourself even if you’re enrolled or eligible. These people are just trying to make money. I’m the past year’s reception that we use to go there the reception would tell u if you weren’t enrolled. But now the communication and standard has gone down.

Very long wait times, as they are short-staffed; I was waiting 3 hours for what ended up being a 5 minute chat with the doctor past midnight. Overall, it was a good experience, however, and we were treated well.

I went To this facility. For A asthma attack that was Induced by A infection The wait time was very long though. This is understandable as they were Short-staffed. The nurses were lovely. And took good care of us. The issue I came across. Was the doctor? At this point I had been Coughing to the point of not being able to breathe and almost throwing up for 2, maybe 3. Hours The nurses moved me to a room by myself so I wouldn't disturb. Other patients? But when the doctor finally arrived. She looked at me with a raised eyebrow. And accuse me of faking it. I was In shock Not 5 minutes into talking to the doctor. She says "Your coughing has picked up a lot since I came here." She called it convenient. She sat there looking at me not giving me Instructions But she did give me a asthma inhaler. Something a nurse had already done. She proceeded to interrogate me. And ask me what I was trying to skip out on. This was because I had asked for a medical notice To give to my strict school. This blatant disrespect completely ruined The experience I was already exhausted from a being late. And having coughing fits every 5 seconds. And then I had to deal with that. To be honest, it seems like a decent facility. I think I just got unlucky with either a too tired or too unprofessional doctor.
