One of the main health institutions in the South of Brazil, Dona Helena Hospital during more than 100 years of existence, has been transforming and improving health care. It was achieved investing heavily in the systematic expansion of its physical structure, without neglecting the priority attention, also, to the scientific demands, which makes it a reference in innovation and humanized care. The institution grows in full harmony with Joinville, the largest city in Santa Catarina State and one of the most important industrial and economic centers in the country.
Dona Helena Hospital, maintained by the Evangelical Beneficent Association of Joinville - the largest city in Santa Catarina -, was one of the first hospital institutions in the country to certify all services by ISO standards. It is also a pioneer in adapting its system to ISO 9001/2000 - 2008 version.
In 2014, it won the most important hospital certification in the world: the Joint Commission International (JCI) accreditation, being the first institution in Santa Catarina to receive the Gold Seal Approval seal.

I made an appointment with Dr Marcela Lorentz at Hospital Dona Helena for yesterday, 12/06/22 at 5:20 pm to do my preventive exams, the hospital sent an email to confirm the presence, later they sent a text message with another request for confirmation, I confirmed twice. I always get ready to go to the doctor, do my nails, take a shower, I think it's a gesture of respect for the doctor who will examine us, I separated the previous exams, so that the doctor could evaluate. The hospital also advises to arrive 30 minutes in advance, I arrived at 4:45 pm, I went to a ward where there were several gynecologists attending, I saw that at all times most of the doctors were opening the door and calling their patients for the consultation, but when I was waiting for more than an hour and the appointment was 40 minutes late. I went to talk to the attendant because the only office that had not opened the door to call patients was Dr. Marcela. The attendant assured me that the doctor was in the room and that even she had a patient before me waiting to be seen and actually when returning to the seat the doctor finally opened the door to call the other patient. I took my things, canceled the appointment, paid for the parking and left because I needed to take my daughter to an appointment. These situations make me feel like garbage, as if my time, my dedication to being there had no value. I think that doctors are not obliged to attend any health plan, they can only attend privately if they want, it is their right, now, if they decide to attend through the plan then I think it is important that they are aware that the patient of the plan is so Be Human as the particular patient and therefore he deserves respect.

I went to Helena's Hospital on July 16th to treat a urinary infection, I was seen by the doctor Rafael Ferreira Pimenta, I informed him that I have a chronic case and that's why not all antibiotics are effective. He asked for an exam and with the result he prescribed a prescription, but without the antibiogram exam the prescribed antibiotics, one for 7 days and the other a single dose, did not work, a mistake of the doctor since I had informed about my case of chronic urinary infection, I spent a week taking the medication with no results, not to mention the expense with the medication.
So on the 27th of July I returned to the hospital's ED for a new treatment and this time I was seen by the doctor AFONSO BRAGA DE SOUZA, who started the consultation visibly without patience, with reddened eyes and altered, as I questioned, he was answering me about the antibiogram test that they had not done in the previous consultation and about medications if it was possible for him to prescribe, but at one point he simply HAD TWO HANDS on the table and SCREAMED AT ME, so I informed him that I would not continue there to be attended to that way and get out of the room.
I went to the reception and they informed me to talk to the nursing sector, in a conversation with the leader of the sector, I reported what had happened and that for emotional reasons I was no longer able to continue in that place that I would like this terrible service to be reversed. , because I didn't want to pay for it, since I didn't have a medical appointment, but a "cursing" from the doctor, but to my surprise I was informed by her that it wasn't possible, because there was the appointment. It is totally unacceptable that a sick and fragile person has to go through this when seeking care, for the second time, in the hospital and for the same reason and is treated this way.
I ask you to review my service to carry out the refund of the amount because I will not pay for a service that I did not receive and that mainly the hospital's medical coordination review what kind of professional you have, totally unprepared to deal with lives and sick people .
