I wasn't going to write a review (I'm so over all this), but I feel compelled to after reading a review that was extremely similar to what I experienced here for COVID-19 treatment. I tested COVID-positive on January 3rd and started Paxlovid. I saw my neighborhood doctor on January 4th. I am vaccinated (and boosted) but am at high risk with asthma. I was given steroids and breathing medicine. I was instructed to go to the hospital if I got worse. I got worse. The following evening, my oxygen dropped below 80. Scared, I called an ambulance and requested to be taken to this hospital as it was supposed to be the best. They took my oxygen in the ambulance and immediately gave me oxygen. I was on oxygen the whole time in the ambulance. I was taken off oxygen when I arrived as my saturation reached the high 90s. I requested the antiviral remdesivir. The doctor refused to give me the medicine. I explained how my condition worsened despite days on Paxlovid, steroid injections, oral steroids, bronchodilators, and rescue inhalers. He could not have cared less. I requested to leave as the doctor was not going to treat me (he charged me, though). The doctor told me there were other ID specialists. I requested to speak to one of them, and the doctor left. While waiting, someone else came in and said there were no other ID specialists there, so I paid and left. It should be noted my saturation had fallen to 92% by that time. I struggled at home with symptoms for the next few days. I continued testing positive after completing Paxlovid. My condition worsened, and I returned to the neighboring doctor about a week after leaving the hospital. Still symptomatic and COVID-positive, he examined me and found pneumonia. My labs were also abnormal, showing evidence I had developed blood clots due to COVID-19. He prescribed medicine for pneumonia and clots (which worked). All this could have been prevented. Trying to get my medical records from this hospital afterwords (for insurance) was like pulling teeth. It took forever to get my records, and when I finally did, I was shocked. The doctor noted that I said things I never did. My signature was forged on the documents. Worst hospital experience ever. Very expensive and received no treatment. The administration is a nightmare as well. Avoid it if possible.

We have been living In 3 different countries for the past 9 years, never experienced anything as bad. We have a a top insurance but they “suddenly” only excepts credit card payment. Stayed for additional 5 hours because they did not let’s leave. No one speaks English except the doctors. However, doctors are very competent and reason for not one but two stars.

Absurdly (like, for real) expensive for a very mediocre level of service. I went to the urgency center, and i found it very useless that on every stage (reception, triage, first and second doctor) they asked me the same questions. The doctor took more than half an hour to arrive. The receptionist has misinformed me and I did a very expensive (since I’m traveling abroad) call which wasn’t necessary at that moment. Also, several times there were several people coming in at a time, also unnecessary, certainly didn’t create a feeling of comfort. The room in which I was attended was small and the door was never closed.

Our treatment with Alvorada was good up to a certain point, Doctors were cordial and treatment was decent. Our problem starts with some of the Administration staff that failed to inform us of the costs, and a Week after my partners X-ray exams the hospital decides to charge us extra, failing to properly explain the reason for the extra charges. It was also disappointing the lack of instruction from the admnistrative team, I felt like all it was needed from them was collecting the "payment". I understand hospital is a Business, but I still feel disappointed that my Mother was charged extra instead of my Partner and I - Let alone the charge came a week late with little explanation. Doctors unprepared to provide PA care. As it is the only hospital in the city, professionals should have more experience.

Terrible service, old rooms, they charge you ghost expenses. I believe that the morning nurses are not paid well, because they do things reluctantly, they make faces at you, they do not come soon, they are not organized in patient care, they do not disinfect the thermometers every time they come to take signs. . I found myself sick in Mexico City and after some hesitation I took myself to Angeles. I am from the United States and my review will be from the perspective of someone who is used to USA healthcare. Angeles was amazing when it came to everything important. My intake was awkward but the woman who helped me did everything she could for me since I was incapable at that time. The doctors where amazing and everything to do with my diagnostic evaluation was efficient and professional. (however, unlike in the USA, the doctors took there time to perform a complete evaluation and were not rushed). The emergency room care was also excellent. When I left the emergency room and went to a normal room things were not as good, in fact I was pretty angry with my nurse there. I was blessed to have a friend in Columbia to use for translation but everything to do with being in the regular room and paying my bill was extremely awkward. Hospital translation services were never made available to me. Regardless, I feel like the healthcare I received was excellent and I would never hesitate to use Hospital Angeles. I found my care here to be at least equivalent if not superior to the care I'm used to in the USA

To my fellow US Citizens I suggest this hospital but please don’t get services from Dr. Gilberto Hernandez Bautista. Unprofessional anesthesiologist. Be sure he won’t be involved in your surgery.

This is the worst hospital experience I've had in my life. I arrived to the emergency room at noon and left at 4 PM whit out being attended to. They charged me $290 USD upon arrival and then made me whit for 2 hours. When they finally call me in, the doctor looked at me 30 seconds and ordered an ultrasonic check that NEVER came. Finally I decided to leave as the lack of attention, the negligence, the lack of information, the complete disregard for my problem and obviously the time spent doing absolutely nothing and listening to the nurses laugh and joke around out side my cubicle, got the best of me. When I decided to leave they made me what another 45 minutes just to return my deposit and give me back my ID which was retained! (Yes the take your official ID and they DON'T give it back until they secure your payment. This is illegal by the way) by the receptionists. By the way, I came to the ER with an internal bleeding due to a fall. The Traumatology "Dr. Jenny" gave me 30 seconds to look at the huge hematoma I had, and then one hour later another 30 seconds to give me the "self leave paper" to sign. NEVER She gave me any indication or had the intention to help me. In fact she said "there is nothing I can do". AVOID THIS EMERGENCY ROOM AT ALL COSTS!

Worst hospitals only into making money I could have got my treatment done cheaper in the USA...they just dump what ever they want for kidney stone laser treatment and stay was a bomb 210000 pesos+80000 for doctors fees...they will empty ur pockets with sweet talks beware doctors are good you could use their services in other hospitals....the taxation department should look into these scamsters

What a slow clinic! They make him come on time but he is late in his shifts, no one comes out to give a reason. The only redeemable thing is the girl at the reception, the rest is a terrible service, the air conditioning in the surgery waiting room does not work. If you can avoid using their services, almost 8 hours for a simple surgery. The worst thing is that EPS SURA has an agreement with them but it is horrible!! The waiting room is horrible. There are patients lying everywhere on the floor. The runners. There is no decent place for the elderly while they undergo examinations and remain under observation. There is one bathroom for many people. And they don't clean it. This is in the emergency room. It is a site where all rights are violated

I hae been there a few times, because my insurance has them as a provider. Once I managed to secure an appointment, all works; however setting up an appointment can be a formidable task, as they dont answer the phone and if they do they pass the buck to sumeone else, or worse they ask you to call a bunch of wrong numbers. The whatsup useless. Today I spent 4 hours trying to get an apointment without any luck. I will soon go in person with a spy camera and will publish my experience on all available social media. What a shame, good doctors and deplorable IT and customer service. Management is unreachable for some strange reason (NOT !!!)

Terrible admin care. There is no real patient ownership and each unit blames the other. There is deep lack of coordination among stakeholders. Patient has been to the hospital 3 times now to get surgery and something always fails because there is lack of coordination and communication between staff. There is need for a real overhaul. Very sad to see this historically best-in-class hospital treat patients this way.

First off this is the best hospital in Bogota according to the locals and my Colombian friends. I came here on a work trip and had an emergency operation to remove my appendix. I came in at 2am, got the diagnosis at 3:30am and they didn’t operate on me until 12pm. The delay was due to the incompetent hospital admin people dealing with my work insurance. I offered to pay out of pocket to get things rolling but they refused. They told me they don’t want double payment incase the insurance goes through. I definitely suggest bringing a Spanish speaker here if you don’t speed to local language because most of the staff don’t speak english. Before the surgery, I had to sign a bunch of disclaimers and waivers which were all in Spanish. My surgery was great. The surgeon spoke good english and was very professional. He reassured that I’m not going to die. As far as hygiene goes, the facility looks clean except there were a few times I caught my nurses taking my blood and iv out without wearing any gloves. Make sure you have money before coming to the hospital. They wont operate on you until payment is confirmed. Last but not least bring a blanket and pillow so you can sleep on the bench while you wait to be seen. Overall I’m grateful for the nurses and Drs that saved my life. My appendix was on the verge of bursting. I would like to give this place a 5 stars had it not been for the front desk admin people.

I had to get a covid antigen test prior to flying back to the US, and was reading reviews at labs all over Bogota, stating the antigen test took 5-7 days to come back. I was worried that would be the case here, so when we went in, I asked, and they said only 4 hrs at the most (it took about 2 hrs, yay!). The staff was so kind and helpful, even though we understood hardly any Spanish. They were very patient with us and we were able to get all the paperwork filled out without any problems. Also, the antigen test was only 120,000 COP, which was better than anywhere else I had found at the time.

Terrible!! The triage staff are rude and the doctor who treated us doesn't even answer the greeting. They lack empathy. If one day they want to get certified, they should start with the staff. You can see the hatred they have for their work, which they project into customer service. The only good people are those in the goal and the laboratory!

I have blood cancer, so I get test at other testing place and than go here for treatment. Lots of waiting, I have to go down street to pay for service. Than more waiting. Not bad place, but everyone seems to be confused. Other than that, it's fine

The telephone service is very poor, they never answer and do not give information. They need to improve in that regard.

A very regular clinic does not have specialized staff, such as a radiologist, not even for the endoscopy service. My experience with my father was very sad.

It is a place where I have had several experiences. More good than bad. It has good transportation, access roads. Good facilities with the different equipment and logistics that a medical center must have and qualified personnel to care for the different patients who are referred there. Hopefully more will be invested in the sector to improve the quality of life of patients.

What a disgusting clinic, terrible, how sad, I entered the page to request an appointment with a cardiologist, he never entered, I went there to request the appointment, I missed the trip, I put a PQR, they gave me the appointment after three months, I went to the appointment and 40 minutes queuing to make the payment, I went up to wait for them to call me and it took another hour to attend me. It is a terrible service from the Vigilante, who brought two dogs to the Hospital (what a hygiene thing) they serve you in waiting chairs where they give you medicine and they are not waiting to remove it when they are finished, even where they place the serum there were more medicines other patients who were no longer in the Hospital and do not pick them up to leave them in the trash. I was treated by Doctor Walter Antonio Lopes Torres who diagnosed me with a kidney infection and pneumonia (with pneumonia but he sent me home) despite continuing my bad condition, I came to Barranquilla of my own free will, feeling very little improvement after the medications where, surprise, I have dengue. Terrible service in the laboratory area…. Too long waiting time for fasting patients, which makes the results of some exams very unreliable. Two hours to care for only 25 patients. We arrived at 7:30 and we got file 82... it's 10:26 and they are only on file 57. At that rate, 6 hours waiting for a blood sample to be taken from the patient

Terrible facilities, the room we paid for without heating, the chair old and hard, the recliner broken... a 29-inch television located almost on the ceiling of the room. Emergency services won’t take a sick 13 years old child as a patient. So please beware of this strange rule and don’t take your youngsters there. Very strange rule. Please dont ever seek treatment here you are better of at a veterinary. Went here cause my girl friend got an bladder infection and it was hurting more than it normally would. They scared us to death with all these possible rare conditions she might have and do everything they can to do as many scans and tests possible. After all the ultrasounds and MRI they tell us they did not find anything and they give her a prescription with a rare intramuscular antibiotic(she was already 2 days in to a normal penicillin cure) the doctor tells us to stop taking the cure she was on and get a shot everyday of the intramuscular one she prescribed. The fun part is after that i went with my sick girlfriend around rio to try and find a place that has this medicine and can inject her with it but no pharmacy or public hospital was willing to do it. So she went without antibiotics for 2 days, only for us to go back to this hospital for them to change it to an oral one. So long story short we spent more then a 1000 euro's and 2 days trying to get her help and she only got more sick and ended up with the normal antibiotics we started our journey with

I'm only impressed by the price. My doctor was inexperienced, replied badly to my questions. They hardly speak any English. They did not give me the x-ray I payed for. Unprofessional, but overpriced.

As a student, I was always welcomed by hospital professionals, especially for admission to the hospital. However, after some changes at the hospital, there is a DISTURBANCE with students, delaying our entry and jeopardizing our classes at the hospital.
