Microvascular decompression (MVD) in 139 Neurosurgery clinics in Americas

In Sept 2023 in Cuenca, my upper arm was broken in 4 places and I needed surgery to repair the bones (titanium screws, metal plate,). I was hospitalized at Mt Sinai for two days, required a month of 6 hr/day in-home care by rotating team of Mt Sinai nurses, and had subsequent 5x/wk physicaltherapy x 2 months .The care I received was extraordinary at every level. I can't praise the competence and personal care enough.

I was just digging through some old boxes and I found the paperwork from when I had to make a visit to Monte Sinai hospital when I got sick in Cuenca back in 2017. It brought back the memories of the amazing treatment I received there. I got insanely sick while visiting Ecuador. Before I got to the hospital, I thought I was going to meet my demise and I was saying my prayers. Thank goodness to the wonderful doctors and staff at this place because they took great care of me. I didn't get to see the entire hospital, but from what I saw from my point of view, they seemed to have pretty much everything there that you would find at a regular United States hospital. Plus, all the doctor's I saw there spoke English too. The experience also really opened my eyes to make me aware of how the statesides hospital rip Americans off. I don't know if their prices have changed since then, but my entire cost with testing and treatments and medication was right around $100. No you did not read that wrong, ONLY about one hundred dollars USD. Another way Ecuador helped me to realize that the United States is good at taking advantage of their citizens, is that when you go into the pharmacies there, the medication is a fraction of the price in the United States and many of them you do not even need a prescription for. Well I just thought I would share my experience for whoever wanted to read a real review on this place.

There is only one internationally rated hospital in Ecuador and it is in Quito. After 10 days in this hospital, they are decades away from being accredited. They do not have a lot of basic equipment. Suffice it to say… it took 5 days just to find me a washcloth. Had to stay an extra 3 days due to their neglect. Ecuadorian health care is ranked 101 in the world. U.S. is ranked 32. You chose.

It seems to be the best among the many hospitals in Monterrey for health check-ups. All hospitals are friendly... I was satisfied with the most detailed check. I was able to see the doctor more comfortably than at other general hospitals. The food in the last week was tastier than any other hospital.

Great hospital. Better service than some hospital in the US.

Hands down, one of the best hospitals I've ever been to. Within minutes of bringing my dad here, the entire team was assisting him with his high blood pressure and symptoms of a stroke. The staff is very friendly and attentive. It's important to keep in mind that this is a private hospital, so if you don't have insurance, they will ask you to deposit a certain amount of money into the account. Make sure to mention that you are self-pay. So they can bundle everything up into one packet. I was so impressed with the ability to be able to just walk down to the administrative office and ask what my balance was and get that information within seconds. It is worth every single penny they charge.

I was a patient her for 2 nights and it had truly been one a the better experiences of being at a hospital ever. Staff was attentive, cleanliness was amazing and the over all experience with my surgeon was amazing! Highly recommend! Coming from the USA, this is like being at a 5 star hotel!

I can’t begin to express how much I enjoyed my visit here. From Admission, medical, food service everyone was so kind! Also, food was a 10/10!

I did not get to take the consultation that was already scheduled, they asked me to reschedule and I was no longer able to attend, the prices are affordable, at least for what I was asking for in terms of gynecology. The attention was via WhatsApp, I didn't like it at all. From the beginning I had already seen such terrible opinions that there are here about that clinic, but I base myself more on my own experience to leave a criticism, I cannot misjudge the medical care because I did not attend the consultation in the end, but the administrative care and service are bad, they take a long time to respond, nothing proper, they spell your name wrong and are inattentive. An excellent hospital, I would say one of the best in the entire State of Puebla. The staff is very professional, attentive, friendly, they treat patients in a dignified and humane way. The facilities are First Level 👌👌👌 Technology, Science and Professionalism working at the service of Health.

On March 23, I took my wife to her scheduled cesarean section, we arrived at the hospital and we waited for them to complete all the paperwork for more than 3 hours. After the surgery, my wife spent more than 6 hours recovering from anesthesia, the A nurse was terrible, my wife was in pain and she was asked to apply medication, which since it was shift change time, she did not give notice and the medication was given 1 hour after requesting it, payment was made to pediatrician Arturo Gonzalez and he I request an invoice for the fees, which to this day you have not sent me the receipt or invoice... I am tired of talking to you, sending you messages and nothing, and for that reason I cannot charge my insurance company for that expense, which It's a shame that a hospital ignores the request claiming that it is no longer their problem and it is directly with Dr. In my case I went through the GNP insurance and the amount they assigned me was insufficient and they even charged me for the air I breathed inside the hospital. NOTHING RECOMMENDED.

The place needs renovations

There service is the best! I was admitted for a week there and they incredibly took care of me and if I gave it a rating it would be an absolute 5 star! Their food, my gosh it was delicious. I never imagine that they serve great quality of food with numerous options. The taste were not bland, it is well seasoned. I always look forward for every meal. heheh. Oh, and their rooms are so clean! They make sure that a cleaner visits my room twice a day to mop and clean the toilet and they remove the trash. And finally, the Nurses are very kind, caring and gentle.. They check up on you multiple times a day/night and responds quickly if you call them.

Bad place to go to an emergency... They pick you up whenever they want and they don't attend to you... I arrived at 10 pm... I was left waiting for 2 hours on the stretcher with the curtain closed so that in the end no doctor would arrive. check me... On Friday, October 27 at approximately 8:00 pm, we came to the emergency room to check my daughter who had a throat infection and urinary tract infection. Dr. Jesús María Hernández Reyna did not test her with the reagent strip and so I He prescribed an antibiotic, and I asked him if he was not going to take a test, and very bleeding and sharp, he answered that there was the medicine for both infections. Please remove Cynthia Solís (plastic) from this hospital. My family and I were her patients and she almost killed one of us. She is ignorant, an extreme danger to patients and commits medical malpractice for which she is currently under investigation.

My second time here in the past month…this is one of the best Hospitals I’ve ever been in. Excellent staff, World class service. No problems whatsoever like the other reviews. Blue Cross insurance was accepted and I was taken care of around the clock. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Went in to get an abscess removed on three different visits. I was scheduled at 10am but the room wasn't available until 8pm. Told to wait. I luckily asked for a written cost estimate and was told 58,000 PESOS (not including blood work, ultrasound and "hospital fees"). I said "no" and before I left, I paid the receptionist the 2,000 peso consult fee which she strangely handed over to one of the doctors. I never got a receipt for the two times that I paid. I went down the street and had the abscess removed for 2,000 pesos. BE SURE TO GET A WRITTEN COST ESTIMATE BEFORE ANY PROCEDURE. GO ELSEWHERE- THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF! 30x more than the competition. Shady billing, accounting, payment, no receipts and handing cash to doctors?

My father was hospitalized for a complication of the bile ducts, in general the hospital is exaggeratedly expensive for the service offered, the facilities are old, the staff that works there and does everything possible to ensure that the patient stays longer days to charge more, Since it costs approximately $25,000 per day, I do not recommend it in the least.

The worst clinic, my grandfather was admitted there for a stroke, they charged for medication that was not even relevant, the devices and facilities are super old, the nurses, especially the intensive care ones, were very despotic and rude, there were bedbugs in the waiting room. Good service from the staff, but it is very slow. They should make the way they serve donors more agile, something that is not so easy to achieve.

My sister was treated for kidney stones in August and we signed a document agreeing to pay $13,800. When we got home, our credit card was charged $38,000. We have made numerous attempts to speak to the hospital, no one has responded. They sent a credit card receipt that clearly shows that they forged our signature and are still demanding payment. Stay away from this hospital, they will scam you out of lots of money.

Terrible money scam. People were nice, but not professional. My mom had a heart issue and was sent here by Xcaret Hotel Mexico (this is a partner hospital with the hotel, says something about the hotel too). She was given EKG and blood test, which was charged 1300USD. The emergency doctor couldn't give any diagnosis with these results and wanted to refer an internal medicine doctor to continue with more procedures (for more charges). The whole time we were there there was no monitor of vital signs, the IV stopped working. We ran away without continuing with any procedure. Stay away from this hospital if you can!

My son hurt his knee pretty bad after landing awkwardly trampolining at our resort. He couldn’t bare weight on it and had a lot of pain so we researched a few local hospitals and decided on Amerimed based on some of the Google reviews. We were not disappointed and so glad we picked this one. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and got us in, x-rayed, meds and a knee brace for 6,500 pesos/ $400usd. We were out within 90 minutes. I’m an American, living in San Francisco and accustomed to high level of medical care. My father developed an infection and the hotel recommended this hospital. Great experience. Very clean, modern and professional. Similar to an urgent care in the US. You pay out of pocket but prices are relatively reasonable. Everyone speaks English. I wasn’t sure what to expect so hope this review is comforting if you need to see a doctor while traveling.

While on a dive trip to Cozumel, my husband became seriously ill and was hospitalized at Costamed. He received excellent treatment. This review is about the patient services people, particularly Jesus Pineda and Israel Cuerca, who were so helpful. My phone would not work and Jesus let me use his phone to contact my bank. He was a very calming influence at a trying time. All the staff was kind and helpful but these two stand out, especially Jesus.

I'm hospitalized, I'm going to spend a few days being treated for bacteria and I find myself in a filthy apartment, water leaking from the central unit into the apartment, flooding the floor, the bathroom walls and ceilings are filthy, water is leaking from the taps, the electric shower doesn't work. ..simply useless.I've already complained and nothing has been resolved.

Emergency services won’t take a sick 13 years old child as a patient. So please beware of this strange rule and don’t take your youngsters there. Very strange rule. Should be advertised widely so one wouldn’t waste their time on a case sensitive situation. Be good to communicate this on company’s website.

Please dont ever seek treatment here you are better of at a veterinary. Went here cause my girl friend got an bladder infection and it was hurting more than it normally would. They scared us to death with all these possible rare conditions she might have and do everything they can to do as many scans and tests possible. After all the ultrasounds and MRI they tell us they did not find anything and they give her a prescription with a rare intramuscular antibiotic(she was already 2 days in to a normal penicillin cure) the doctor tells us to stop taking the cure she was on and get a shot everyday of the intramuscular one she prescribed. The fun part is after that i went with my sick girlfriend around rio to try and find a place that has this medicine and can inject her with it but no pharmacy or public hospital was willing to do it. So she went without antibiotics for 2 days, only for us to go back to this hospital for them to change it to an oral one. So long story short we spent more then a 1000 euro's and 2 days trying to get her help and she only got more sick and ended up with the normal antibiotics we started our journey with

I'm only impressed by the price. My doctor was inexperienced, replied badly to my questions. They hardly speak any English. They did not give me the x-ray I payed for. Unprofessional, but overpriced.

Terrible hospital! The reception on the first floor is the worst I have ever seen. Disgraceful service and attitude from employees. I spent almost an hour waiting to be seen by reception and it was after the exam time. The receptionist told me very harshly that I wouldn't be served and I showed her the time I got the password, 58 minutes before! Very good hospital!! From parking, reception and emergency room service. Polite and willing people to help and practice their profession well. My father was in the ICU surrounded by a multidisciplinary team who welcomed him very well. Everything clean and organized. It wasn't difficult to talk to the doctors, as they were there when they visited the ICU and then in the room. This hospital is terrible!!!! I had an ear problem last month and I went to this hospital that charged me for a consultation without first telling me that they did NOT have an ENT doctor available who could help me (even after having gone through the screening), and now even having spoken to the ombudsman, they claim that I was notified, which is an absurd lie. What I take away from this is that in addition to having terrible service and incompetent nurses, they also lie. Don't go to Santa Paula, they won't solve your problem, and then they will claim that “you were too stunned to understand” which is an absurd lack of empathy and humanity for a hospital to say something like that.

Good afternoon everybody. My 18 year old daughter was hospitalized on 10/06 with teratomas on her ovary. A huge scare, because we went to the emergency room with suspected kidney stones. We were very scared and very worried, but I would like to record here the excellent and extremely humanized care provided by everyone, without exception, at the hospital. My daughter had recently turned 18 and so I couldn't sleep with her in the hospital, imagine my despair and worry? So, in addition to never being hospitalized, she had to be alone. But, all (without exception) the nurses, receptionists, doctors, were very careful, loving, attentive and caring.
