This type of cancer is rare and often detected late because it rarely causes specific symptoms early on. When symptoms do appear, they may include abdominal pain, jaundice, and nausea. Treatment typically involves surgery to remove the gallbladder, possibly along with parts of the liver and lymph nodes, followed by chemotherapy or radiation therapy to target any remaining cancer cells.
