I visited Perth orthopaedic clinic from a recommendation/referral from my doctor after previously visiting a different orthopaedic clinic.. I would highly recommend Perth orthopaedic as my specialist was very informative, delivered the recommendations in a simplified manner so I could understand and laid everything out in plain English to be able to know what the steps are I need to take to help the recovery of my broken foot.

I recently underwent hamstring repair with Dr Peter Annear. Couldn't fault his bedside manner and that of his theatre team and anaesthetist - thank you.

Had a Total Right Hip Replacement done by Mr Jain, the whole process from the reception staff to Shona who books your surgery date was done so easily and professionally that it made it a great experience, I'm booking in to get my shoulder done it was that good. Highly recommend this surgeon.
So I had a left reverse total shoulder replacement done on the 2nd of September, what a fantastic job, from the time I left hospital until the day I'm writing this I have had no pain what so ever, the scar has healed very well and my shoulder hasn't felt this good for a very long time. Thanks to Mr Jain and his highly skilled team for your professionalism right from the first meeting. Highly recommend Mr Jain.

I could not recommend Arvind Jain or his team at the Melbourne Bone & Joint Clinic more highly! Whilst I realise everyone’s healing journey will be different, the personalised care and attention you receive will be of the same high standard that I have experienced. Just three weeks after a total hip replacement (anterior) I am amazed at how quickly I am becoming mobile with minimal discomfort. Arvind, Shiona, Trace and the team at the Clinic provided such excellent support in the lead-up and post surgery. My personal concerns and questions were answered with care and my individual needs addressed without judgment. Thank you so much.

Husband went in for a minor procedure with an epidural. The admission forms were filled out accurately but once we were admitted the nursing staff did not understand what the term “ as required” meant when associated with a dosage regime even though we explained it twice politely. The senior nurse was aggressive and hostile tried to gaslight us, accused us of not knowing what we were talking about, effectively implying that we were stupid. So after the staff trying to insult, demean and belittle us, without success by the way, we foolishly assumed the matter as settled. Silly us! The next day, post surgery, a hostile nurse charged into my husband’s room and “told him off”. Unfortunately variations of the disrespectful behaviour continued. I arrived to find my husband upset, agitated and distressed. I came to the conclusion that it would be in his best interest to leave. It was a very unpleasant experience which we would not recommend to anyone. Needless to say we will never go to a St Vincent’s Hospital again! My husband felt disrespected, bullied and harassed. He was right. That is exactly what happened. Leaving resolved the problem with a minimum of fuss.

After staying overnight with my son for an Adenotonsillectomy surgery, I'm afraid to say that I was extremely disappointed with our overall experience.
Although St Vincent's was not our first choice, we did not have the option of going to our preferred hospital due to the surgeons availability and the urgent nature of our request. Needless to say, I was not all that fussed initially as I have been an inpatient at many private hospitals and have never had a bad experience. However, unfortunately, St Vincent's did not live up to it's expectations and I've received better care at public hospitals over the years.
For a start, the "room service" which requires the patient to phone the kitchen and place the order of their choice sounded like a fantastic idea to begin with however, they failed to advise that the kitchen won't always answer when you call and upon placing your order, there is up to a 45 minute wait to receive your meal. Too bad if your child is hungry or thirsty as we were trying to get through to them to order our breakfast for 1.5 hours with no success only to be told we could not go home until my son had something to eat - not sure how they expect that when there is no food for him to eat?! There's also no set meals so if you can't get through on the phone to place your order, you simply don't eat!
Also, the food in general was of poor quality. All the "hot" meals we ordered were served cold and utterly tasteless.
My son was in severe pain following the surgery and vomited during the middle of the night which warranted the call for a nurse as his bed sheets were all soiled. Whilst a nurse arrived promptly to our call for help, to clean up the mess, she simply pulled off the soiled sheets, threw a towel on the floor to cover the vomit which spilled off the bed and left the room, leaving my son to sleep in a half made bed with hardly any blankets.
The next morning on our discharge day, there was only one nurse rostered on for the entire paediatric unit and she advised that her shift finished at 11am and she has to close the ward down which means all patients had to be discharged by 11am. Too bad if there were complications and your kid was required to extend their stay!! I don't blame the nurses as it's not their fault they are the only ones rostered on and the one who was, was doing her best considering. However, I am incredibly disgusted with the deplorable service provided by the hospital in general, considering we pay an arm and a leg for the best possible health care - it's a disgrace.
I will never go back to that hospital and will stick to our preferred option in the future.

I had a 4 night stay after total knee replacement surgery in June 2023. It was the first time ever in hospital I did not mind being there. Meals are 'room service' on demand and were consistently very good. The nursing staff was lovely, attentive and communicative. Admin was atop everything. The facility was clean, tidy, and well maintained. Well done St Vincents Kew.

I had the best experience with really lovely staff and a room to myself as requested. Jill the receptionist is amazing and came to say hi after we had a great chat at check in.
The food was incredible and I don’t want to go home.
Extremely impressed with my stay here. Carolyn the manager is also lovely. Thank you for looking after me.

Emergency dept is an absolute joke. Sitting in here in pain, waiting to be looked at by a doctor for 4+ hours now on a Wednesday mid morning, with about 15 other patients. Nurses “visit” the waiting area of the emergency dept, as if in a hurry, but doesn’t look like any of the patients are actually receiving any care.
Came in here with a fractured hand, will be leaving with not just a fractured hand, but also a low blood sugar level and migraines as complimentary gift. Such a waste of tax payer dollars.

Vote of "No Confidence" - Do Not go here! Get yourself to Sunshine if you have an emergency!
It's definitely not the Royal Melbourne, and not even close to the experience at Sunshine. To describe the Mercy as "Parochial" is to be extremely kind. When I present at an ED in an Australian capital city, I expect a confident workforce, a competent director and a facility that provides a comprehensive ED. It's a sad indictment that Australia's shining cornerstone; its world-class medical system seems so utterly diminished and beleaguered by the shockingly poor example given up as The Mercy Hospital.
Having just moved to the area, I was appalled with my first [and I hope only] experience at the Mercy Hospital. I was directed by my GP to the Mercy after a suspected stroke. I had blurred vision and a screaming headache. I waited for Eleven uncomfortable hours to be told by a somewhat bureaucratically limited doctor lacking any ability in patient empathy, that there was no one at the Mercy who could be sure of my condition. Or apparently, possess the ability to read a CT Scan. Filled with anxiety and a lack of blood sugar, my confidence in this hospital's abilities instantly evaporated. I am a diabetic and by this time was in real need of food. Apparently, food is also on the list of things NOT currently available at the Mercy. I immediately discharged myself and had my partner drive me to Sunshine. What a difference Sunshine is compared to the Mercy. Food, doctors with empathy, doctors that can read CT scans, admin staff that know how to process an emergency department - not to mention the ability to drive up to the front door.
The Mercy needs to take a very long hard look at itself, its facilities, and its staffing capabilities. Start with replacing its director. Who by the way, made an appearance on the ED floor with a triumphantly lame attempt at explaining away his ineptitude at heading up and implementing a capable ED. A fact not lost on the onlooking and demoralized waiting room. A defective leader will only ever attract the same. The ED had a clear communication disconnect between triage and general assessment. (Yes I've had a stroke. But I'm also a diabetic - the two can be true at the same time!) It has a fundamentally flawed waiting room procedure and process reminiscent of some outback roadside clinic. The doctors and general staff seemed limited to and hindered by bureaucracy, with no evident desire to move beyond remedial procedure and develop an ability to infix confidence in their patients. This defines a workforce lacking in experience under incapable leadership. A fact that is picked up and amplified by their patient's experience. As reflected by the multitude of negative experiences retold on this public site.

The fact that this is a hospital is laughable. Lack of experienced qualified staff and good management. Almost lost my wife and child due to a staff not knowing what they were doing. Also don’t get me started on their emergency department. When I was in London during peak covid 19 while thousands of people were dying, the wait time in emergency was only 4hrs, here it’s 11hrs+ wait. How can you call this a first world country. Australians pay big tax dollars almost 30% or more of what they earn working hard, this should be invested into hospitals and other needed services. There needs to be another hospital in the west. Maybe Tarneit or Truganina because this place is shambolic. If you can, please wait to see your GP and pray it’s bulk billed or try to put your own broken legs together. It’ll be better than going into Werribee mercy.

Really odd billing experience.... Started getting weird texts saying that I owe Cabrini $12.00 with no invoice or explanation. I hadn't been to Cabrini in over a year and I thought it was a scam. After a few more texts i call them and they say they did an internal audit from my procedure from the year before and that they under quoted me and under billed me then and expected me to pay now. I know it is only $12. But I found this really odd... isn't it their responsibility to make sure they are quoting the right price before the procedure and when payment is made? Anyway... just be careful because who knows who else this has happened too and for how much!? Just felt very unprofessional to chase up $12.00 without explaining a year later!

Went for a gastroscope and most of the nurses were amazing, doctors were too!
Went there in the morning and unfortunately my partner couldn’t pick me up before 3.30 pm.
One of the nurses (don’t remember her name) a bit older, was absolutely rude to me and over the phone with my partner and to me again when I told her that I was happy to wait in the waiting room in front of the desk after the procedure, and let someone else come in. She was very pushy in a bad way and need me gone before 3pm.
Also, when I got notified for the procedure, few weeks prior the procedure, I completely forgot to reply back to a very stressful weeks of work and family situation.. got a phone call from the same rude lady and she pretended to know “why I didn’t reply to the message” ..
Not sure why she had to act like that.. but I’m sure wasn’t the first time.

Had our first baby here last week, what an amazing hospital. The maternity ward was out standing, fantastic nurses and midwives who go above and beyond despite their patient load (special shout out to Maree, Anne Marie and Yvette!)
For a hospital, the food was quite good - you order on demand and meals are made fresh. Overall, I had a great experience especially as a first time mother. Thank you again.

I was admitted for an elective surgery and could not recommend my stay at the Mater enough! What really shines at Mater is the thoughtfulness and care that the nurses and staff provided to me throughout my stay. I would like to thank Tomika, Heather, Kenny and Alyssia for their incredible assistance and the care that they provided to me. The nurses really take the time to explain what they are doing and are attentive and helpful during their shifts (even during late nights or early mornings). The little gestures that they do just to get you to be a little more comfortable really leave a mark on you. Additionally the room service offered at the Mater provides a wider selection of meal options to choose from compared to other hospitals and the ability to order a variety of meals or snacks during the day when needed. The kitchen staff are accommodating and can assist in scheduling your meals as well. Highly recommend the Mater!

I had an absolutely incredible experience that I will be forever grateful for. The staff members were not only extremely kind, but also incredibly knowledgeable in their field. I want to give a special thanks to the midwives Michelle and Hayley, who were not only amazing people, but also true professionals in every sense of the word.
On a side note, the food provided throughout our stay was exceptional, making every day a delightful culinary experience, so thank so much for the people that we couldn’t see cooking for us, but we could definitely taste their care.

A great hospital made so by its staff. The nurses make this a five star place to be (even for those of us who loathe hospitals). The compassion, attention to detail, and FOLLOW THROUGH on things which are promised to take place. Meet anyone in the mingling area outside and there isn’t a bad word to be said for all it’s arenas of practice from mental health, alcohol counselling, pain control and so forth. Management must be doing something right because staff are actually happy doing what they’re doing, which has the obvious follow on effect of stellar patient treatment. Where other places are found wanting, your loved ones will be well taken care of here.

I recently had a total Hip Replacement at Beleura Private Hospital and also did inpatient Rehabilitation on Mc Crae ward.
I cannot thank every single person enough.
From the moment I walked in the doors the professionalism and care I received was second to none.
I would highly recommend Orthopaedic Surgeon Brad Crick he has done an excellent job for me personally ( thankyou so much )
All the Drs, Nurses, OTs, Physiotherapist, Porters were absolutely amazing they all worked so well as a team and made me feel welcomed and safe ( Thankyou )
Thanks also goes to the catering team the food was excellent ( my trays always went back empty 🙂 ) and the staff were lovely and friendly.
All the cleaners were friendly and easy to talk to everyone and did a wonderful job.
I'm currently doing outpatient Rehabilitation there and still finding everyone so nice friendly and helpful.
So I'm guessing you can see by my review that I personally had a wonderful experience.

The doctors and Medical staff are great and they deserve a 5 star based on my experience. However, the Hospital desperately needs to look into how their back office staff treat people. My mother was admitted as an overseas patient. When she was discharged, a lady came and asked us to go to a private area and she put some papers asking me to sign it. When I asked her what I was being asked to sign, her response was “will explain once you have signed it.” When I declined, she started getting aggressive and rude. It came to a point that I had to ask her to get a second person come in and witness what she her aggressive and pushy behaviour. Finally when a second person was present in the room, her behaviour changed to an angel. Then we went through the invoice realising that we were charged for 3 nights when mom was admitted for 2 nights only. There were other errors as well.
I am writing this because I hope that this will alert private patients and they are prepared to deal with these scenarios.

I had to have an emergency surgery on the 11/11/2023. I just want to thank the Staff at the hospital for such a professional , polite and extremely well co-ordinated care from start to end .
From arriving at the beginning and being interviewed by the first point of contact (nurse) and then the admin staff, both professional and friendly.
When the nurse from the Emergency Department came to fetch me , she was brilliant in her care, after the Doctor saw me . She was so thorough and careful in attaching my drip for my medication . She was so careful in finding a strong vein to take my blood , and answering any questions I asked her. What an amazing nurse.
The doctor was also polite and friendly and explained what needed to be done .
One of the surgical team came to speak to me as well and told me exactly what the surgery was all about , also friendly and polite .
They then moved me to a ward and the PSA staff member was friendly and polite.
At the ward , there was a student nurse and she was so professional in her manner of asking questions and checking my Blood pressure , temperature and oxygen , she even went to find my wife a chair.
When the student's shift ended , the nurse that took care of me was even more amazing , explaining what was going to happen and reassuring me , went with me to the theatre and escorted back after the surgery. Took great care in her treatment of me , with pain relief and antibiotics through my drip. I just want to say a big thank you to her.
The anaesthetists were so thorough and reassuring as well as polite and friendly . Both were so willing in answering and explaining my concerns or questions I had .The anaesthetist nurse assistant was polite and friendly.
The surgeon was great , helpful and friendly .

If you ever need to go to hospital I suggest you don't go to this one, one of the worse hospitals in Perth.
1. My grandmother was dying in hospital so naturally all of her family were there to be with her for her last breaths, the staff were rude and wouldn't let us all be with her, these were the last moments we will never get back. Thanks for your compassion Fiona Stanley.
2. My dad had triple bypass surgery after waiting one or two weeks for one of the best open heart surgeons.
Surgery all went well apparently. One week after, the hospital called my family to say he was being discharged, my mum and sister got there and the paper work wasn't ready and said they could post it out so they didn't have to wait any longer, which is all fine but...
No doctor came to see my family to let them know what kind of care my dad would need or any other information necessary for when he's home.
Two days later he died.
What was the point for the government in spending so much money on surgeons when patients of major surgery get kicked out of the beds too soon and left to fend for themselves?!
The lack of care and compassion for patients and their families is disgusting, I really hope this hospital gets better for the sake of the people of Perth.

A beautiful modern hospital with modern fixtures a mall-like atmosphere. The main thoroughfare is lovely but some waiting rooms are small and the multi-stage waiting room system often seems somewhat unnecessary as it is less efficient now that you are unable to check yourself in for an appointment. Instead, you still have to line up to speak with a receptionist - just like you did at the old hospital.
The outdoor plaza and the garden areas are a nice touch; hosting community events and providing patients with some much needed respite, and fresh air.

NOT A REGISTERED MYOTHERAPIST !!! Which is required to call yourself a Myotherapist.
Coming up from Melbourne I was looking for Myo!!
They advertise that they have a Myotherapist as a practitioner… They do NOT… At best the Therapist is a remedial massage therapist..
There is a distinct difference between a Myotherapist and a remedial massage therapist. Their qualifications are completely different, three years of university or the equivalent in vocational training. Remedial is barely eight months and they only learn the superficial anatomy.
This is false advertising.
If you require a Myotherapist, go to the; massage and Myotherapy website,ANATA Website, Massage Association, website, or the Myotherapy Association of Australia website.
Equally, false, is the fact that the information at the bottom of the Therapist page belongs to somebody else not the therapist.

I saw Bridie last year when having some issues with pregnancy related pain. She was amazing. She took the time to carefully review my symptoms and come up with an incredibly effective treatment plan. I walked away almost entirely pain free! Highly recommend her as a top physiotherapist for any pregnancy related pain.

Jemma fixed my back !
I’ve had quite bad ongoing lower back problems from my physically demanding job, lifting large weights and being on my feet all day has taken it’s toll. I was recommended to TSM by my sister who sees a masseuse there. Jemma, my massage therapist gave the most amazing service I’ve ever received! I felt comfortable, understood and heard by her. We talked through my back and posture problems and she knew exactly what parts needed to be worked on. It was painful but I was walking on air when I was out of there. At the end of my session she gave me stretches and tips to keep my posture and back strength up! I’ll be back and I’m recommending her to anyone who needs a GREAT remedial massage! Thank you TSM and Jemma! What a great experience.

The hospital is hit miss like all of NSW Health. The nurses have mental health issues so depending on which nurse you get, either you will receive good care or be subjected to abuse like having your meds not given, information not provided, details not passed to your doctors (who often review remotely so you don’t see them every day). The outsourced food is not relevant to your needs and not replaced with adequate nutrition if you have allergies etc. I saw one new father deliberately kept outside because the nurses didn’t like him then watched them laugh at the struggling new mum who was doing things without support and the nurses just watched, didn’t help her. Same with trying to get information from Doctors, they simply don’t talk to you. The information provided by the nurses is often half-truths designed to placate people not be honest with them.

I’ve been in the Emergency Department of Prince of Wales, a number of times in my life. I waited a very long time only once. I had only 1 bad experience where I was in observation in bed and I could not get a peaceful sleep as the doctors kept checking on me every hour and kept my light on the whole time. The next day, they forgot to remove the IV from my arm and sent me home. Overall, not too bad experience.

I had an excellent experience at St Vincent's. During admission and discharge the Admin staff were friendly and efficient. The nursing staff were very professional and made me feel comfortable both prior to and post-surgery. Physios didn't make me feel like I had to overdo exercises post-surgery and the room service means of ordering meals is a great idea. And the food was good. Overall, great experience.

I had my very first planned Surgery at St vincent private hospital Werribee, very clean, calm environment. Starting from admission to post surgery care and till you go home, everything is excellent, the staff - I was with Dr Adam Boyt and team, Anaesthetists - Peter and support staff, Ema make you feel relaxed. Post surgery when I was in recovery room, remember somehow person waking me up and taking at-most care - I believe he is John or Ron my apologies for the name. After moving to my own specious private room Francies and Liam took very good care of me. At any moment they were ready to help you for anything. Overall very much satisfied with the care and services @Vincent Hospital.
I think you should start private emergencies as well. 🙂. Going to write amazing Review separately for Dr Adam Boyt and Team.

I had a hemorrhage type stroke in the ER room after being denied the usage of Ryan's Rule, staff is extremely rude and unprofessional.
Since the stroke I have been refused triage and denied medical treatment every time I attempt to present to emergency with the Doctor's very rudely telling me they aren't going to treat me and to go home during my acute medical episode which included my brain actively hemorrhaging.
Have only ever received treatment when the Police have done an EEA which involved the staff drugging with me high amounts of Morphine the first time and Fentanyl the second time making me unconscious for the EEA before releasing me outside which resulted in me getting hit by a car.
Incredibly disgusting behavior by an abhorrent group of staff and pathetic excuses for Nurses and Doctors.

I had self funded surgery here 6 weeks ago. My surgeon and anaesthetist were amazing. 10/10. The nurses I had when I came out of recovery were great. Attention to detail, caring, wonderful. The nurses I had the following day were average. The surgery cost $11950, I was in hospital less than 18 hours. My admission was messed up, so after fasting from 9pm for an 8am surgery, I wasn’t admitted until after 4pm. Surgery went great and was out of recovery by 8pm. The next morning I wasn’t given any fluids or anything and was discharged not long after waking. I was given the wrong discharge papers and medication scripts too. Please do better in future. I would definitely think twice about having surgery here again.
