Without a doubt, the BEST hospital in NYC! Even the food was good. I was there for three days, and everyone was very nice, accommodating, polite, efficient, caring and professional. Even after I was released, the doctors called me at home to check on me, or called me straight back if I left a message. Really first rate treatment!

The ER room is a real joke. They have no system. They make you wait 5-6 hours before they even treat you. No one is taking charge. A true example of horrible medical attention. You’ll wait 8 hours to get a room if you need one. They discuss your medical condition in a waiting room next to everyone. It’s embarrassing. Never again to this place. Never. They should be shut for.

Horrible hospital, some of the older less funded hospitals really get a bad wrap compared to this place. It's supposed to be one of the best in the city but that's if you're in a particular tax bracket. The staff is just pure trash, unfeeling, uncaring...the list could go on. During the pandemic they were swept under an avalanche and rose to the occasion. This I will admit, but post pandemic we the patients are left to fend with burned out, inconsiderate service that needs an overhaul. I get it we're all suffering on both ends, but must patients suffer mistreatment and an absence of care coupled with life threatening illnesses when it isn't necessary?

Lorraine is the absolute best nurse who by the end of 2 weeks felt like family who truly cared for me and wanted me to get answers as much as I did. She is truly special. Susan, Nicole, and jasmine we're also amazing nurses always smiling I wish I could remember every single one but almost everyone I had was amazing, always smiling and was always asking how they could assist me. Every single member of the PT/OT team were like a family and is what happy co-workers look like always laughing and joking with one another. They push us to do what they knew we could do and let us rest when they see we're tired and they celebrate and are just as happy as us when we met our goals. Jennifer is hands down the best case manager you will ever get she will fight for you. Mrs. Lisa is the absolute best nurse practitioner, better then some doctors I have seen on my journey, she has the best bedside manner and actually cares, she will dig and research and give you her best. Dr. Ward is just the coolest doc around and never judged me for wanting to go slow on introducing new medications and hugged me and treated me like a family member every time he saw me. I 110% recommend PAM of covington. Not only was the medical staff amazing but when they found out I was basically allergic to everything they let me smell different cleaning supplies to see what would work for me, never making me feel like a burden, they made me a special bottle of just isopropyl alcohol AND placed a professional air scrubber In my room so I had the cleanest air possible. They went above and beyond for me and I will choose PAM OF COVINGTON every single time.

So far so good, the entire staff has been extremely friendly and attentive. They are easy to talk to and care about the patients that are here. At times they can be very busy and possibly bc of short staff but they take time w each patient and do not make them feel like a burden. The therapists are all extremely friendly and knowledgeable and make therapy fun. All of the nurses are so kind and treat them like their own family. We have only been here a few days but so far so good

My husband came to PAM 3 weeks ago after multiple recommendations by people within the hospital industry. We are leaving soon, and wanted to leave a review of all the wonderful staff at the facility.
The therapy teams have been an absolute dream! John with physical therapy is patient, kind and funny. He pushes us to constantly strive for better, and is a huge asset to PAM. Kristen with occupational therapy is also the sweetest woman I've ever met. She is helpful, encouraging and a great listener. Irene with Speech therapy is so incredibly kind and also brilliant. She describes every step of the therapy and why it benefits you. It made us feel so much more at ease in an area of medical care that we had not ever participated in. Kelsey, Noe, Travis and Anika with Respiratory Therapy were wonderful to work with. They moved my husband quickly through all the stages of respiratory therapy, while making sure he was safe, but also pushing him to the next step.
The nursing staff was exceptional during the day, we adored Bonnie, Jordan, Lydia and Matt, and Monica and Natalie were great night nurses. As far as CNA's, Madison, Abby and David were all fantastic! These staff treated us like family, loved on my husband, and gave exceptional service. They constantly asked if we needed anything, were thoughtful with the meds being given, and carefully curated his healthcare to fit the need at the moment. We could not have asked for a better experience!
The administration dealt with any issues that arose quickly and efficiently. We did struggle slightly with some night staff that struggled to find the patience to understand his communication methods, but we brought this to the attention of administration, and they dealt with it immediately. He was given control of his healthcare, and this eased anxiety in so many ways. We are so incredibly blessed that we came to PAM and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an LTAC in the future.

Post Acute Medical took excellent care of my mom. From the staff that greeted you, to the nurses, doctors, food service workers, nursing assistants and the front office staff, they were always willing to help and assist in any way. The facility is so clean. The case workers stayed in communication with me on a daily basis, and were so kind and patient with all the questions I had. Thank you all for taking care of my mom and helping her get the care she needed. It’s about the human connection and spirit that helps people heal. PAM’s staff had that plus more! Thanks again!

My husbands best friend has been in the Pam Unit for 2 months. Not once was the room cleaned. Floors were so dirty. They would leave their trash laying in the room and on his bed. There was one RN nurse who was meanest uncaring person I have ever seen! They have now moved him to a nursing facility over 4 1/2 hours away that has awful reviews. It is so sad how people treat sick patients 👎🏻 they don’t even deserve a 1 star

This place is a complete joke. I should of knew the first 10 minutes we were there that it was going to be a nightmare. We got my dad there at 10 pm and when we got to the room it didn’t even have a bed in it. The speech therapy/nutrition employees were one of the rudest people ever. They are unprofessional and not very caring. One day one speech therapist said he could use a straw and have ice and water and the next day another person said he couldn't. The lack of care and compassion by most of the staff is unacceptable and unnecessary. Dr. Motaz B Hossein is very unprofessional and not friendly at all. He is not very compassionate. He doesn’t listen to the patient or the family. He is very stuck up. I hope that Kettering network never recommends this place to anyone in the future. I was actually worried for my father’s well being. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Also, i like fact they took him out to get some actual sun.

Unfortunately the HORROR was the case workers who should help you with transitioning from the rehab to next place, my mother was sent to a city 3 hours away from us and then we had to figure out a way to get her home. The facility she was sent to was from the case workers reference as trained oxygen facility and that is why she was sent there. A complete nightmare, my mom has regressed instead of progressed, fell out of bed, the facility is understaffed, no one even under stands how to use a vent. Her doctor from the rehab even confirmed he didn't authorize her move. The rehab essentially just kicked my mom out without any conscious of where she went. So disappointed in the PAM facility on how they treated us.

This place is a hoke, reading through the reviews over 50% of the positive reviews were done by the employees. Must of given them a bonus to write a good review. I agree with a former review, the nursing staff is great with the amount of people assigned to them. The in charge lady has no empathy, she should be a drill sergeant not running a hospital. Making the numbers work for the big Corp behind them pulling the strings. Don't specialize in human care anymore, it's all about how good your insurance is.

Everyone from the time my father in law was admittedly until he was discharged were exceptional. I was able to speak, at any time, with the doctor and nurses as needed. They were so helpful and caring at all times to dad. I knew at all times, if we weren’t able to be there, he was well taken care of and our community is very fortunate to have a facility of this kind to help dad recover until he was able to get to the next rehabilitation center. I can’t say enough how understanding and helpful the nursing staff are with the patient as well as the family. Thank you for taking care of dad and being so sweet and kind.

As a Founder of a Non-Profit still within its infancy stages. Within the field of respiratory, I have walked within these halls and worked, even made the company look good. My name is Brandon Hector Rocha, I do not approve of this facility even if they offered me money to begin my foundation. THEY HAVE NO HONOR.
I have seen them abuse workers from CNA to Nursing, even the patients. Just think narcissistic household, Company is the abusive narcissistic, medical staff the other adult who isn't, patient the child.
Yes they gave me a chance when returning back to the field. But they do not operate in honorable ways. Too many to list. I trust Mobsters more than them. I do not work with them, but at least they even have a code of conduct. The last straw was them over feeding a fellow respiratory therapist mother. They hire nurses but cannot keep them, why, well ask the amazing nurses who left, even the ones who stayed. But physicians orders are cat scratch and hand written. Nurses feel overwhelmed so have no time to ensure the order is proper. You try doing 6 patients with paper charting with mix of ICU, progressive care, and tele patients. tell me how you wont miss something?
But, the company knows... and from what I hear for years too.
Sad part is they say they care, but I don't care for words I care for actions. Everyone has freedom of speech. But once you act, well, its on you now.
I will not work here. Make sure to monitor your loved ones meds for pain and anxiety, especially the liquid nutrition.
They care more about money then actual care... ask any of the workers and make sure there is no recourse if they speak up.

I would like to say that I highly, highly recommend this facility. I appreciate this hospital and everything they are doing for my mother. First and foremost, let me say this: if you want the most utmost attentive care related to any type of cancer and your situation is not looking that great, please consider giving this place a chance; I *HIGHLY* recommend Memorial Sloan Kettering Center. They are experts and are well specialized when it comes to cancer itself. The staff at that hospital are the most informative, kindest and caring people my family and I have ever met, and they will fight tooth and nail to give you the best care possible. They will respond to your concerns asap and they make sure to quickly provide you with information and/or updates. They gave my mother absolute hope. My mother was being treated at Hackensack University Medical Center in NJ but they were quick to assume that we would have to prepare for the worst. I would never return to that hospital due to how they treated my mother, and for me as well when I needed surgery. Thanks to my sister's recommendation, we had her moved to this hospital. I really want to help anyone that is in the same situation that my family and I are in, thanks to Memorial Sloan Kettering Center, my mother is still with us. Thank you to every single person that works at this hospital, please realize how much of a difference you are making, words cannot express how grateful we are for this place.

No idea what these bad reviews are about because I have been treated with the best care I have ever had at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. Dr Alice Wei and Dr Judge are ROCKSTARS in the type of cancer I had. I am very proactive in my own care, so some of the issues mentioned appear to be from people, who did not properly advocate, for themselves or their loved ones.
I was seen and diagnosed immediately and had surgery within a couple weeks. I was placed in a beautiful VIP suite and looked after 24-7 by a bevy of fun and kind nurses, PT people, and maintenance folks.
Because I tested positive for Covid after surgery, I was there a week so had tons of great nurses and physical therapists except for one recovery room nurse named Camille — who lied about me not wanting any painkillers (I just didn't want any highly addictive ones!) — and Tara, the last nurse in my room, who tried to rush me out of the room by taking my clothes and throwing them on a chair while I was in the shower.
Since coming home, I have had phone calls almost daily checking on my recovery and whenever I ask a question in the portal, it is answered instantly with either a phone call or email back.
There are some changes I would make. First, there was an incident where Dr. Wei outright lied to me when I requested a routine scan that is usually done prior to surgery for the type of tumor I had. She inexplicably claimed that the scan was too expensive and that MSKCC did not do them. This was just odd since neither thing was true. That made me a bit nervous at first. However, she saved my life, so I feel so grateful that I found her. Secondly, people need more than 2 days in the hospital after surgery. I was in so much pain there is no way I could've gone home in 2 days, which I would've had to do if I had not had Covid. Also, the pain meds need to be timed with the physical therapy visits so that the patient can actually do the walks/exercises that are required. My PTs kept coming so late that my meds had worn off. Then, I couldn't do the walks. And finally, the drain bags need to be smaller. It makes no sense for patients to have to wear a 600ml drain bag if they are only outputting 20-40ml. Having a smaller bag would be much more convenient for patients, who have to wear a drain for a long time.
That said, Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center is the gold standard and I am so glad I chose to work with them. Like anything health-oriented, you need to do your homework and advocate for yourself.
There is nothing scarier than cancer, NOTHING! So if you live in NYC, make sure you come here. Because it is the best.

My father was recently discharged from about 3 weeks at PAM. I am so happy he was in their care. Very clean facility and easy visitation process.
I spoke directly with members from every team while he was in their care. They took the time to explain everything to me whenever I asked. The have the professionalism and patience I wish other facilities did.
A shout out to the entire staff. I know I'm getting some of these names wrong. Andy, Nurse Jaime, Yen, Dr. Sprague, Dr. O, Mike and Jackie from therapy and my little Cuban nurse friend (Mey-Lynne?) who put up with dad when he was a challenge and tolerated my Spanish. Front desk lady was always so welcoming. Sorry dear, I never got your name. Case workers Kris and Laura were awesome. I was freaking out a little when my dad was not doing well and Laura talked me down. I still owe you one for that... The whole staff went above and beyond even my highest expectations.

I went into the BWH spine center around a year ago concerned that something might be wrong with my neck. I was assigned a PA who was in their first year. They apparently didn't know what they were doing because ever since that day I have experienced significantly more pain and discomfort. Before that day, the pain levels were tolerable without any drugs or injections or whatever. Now I rarely get a normal nights sleep and many days are near unbearable.
I tried using the BWH patient complaint system to voice my concerns about my situation but they never got back to me even after I tried calling twice. I've had doctor visits before where they don't really offer help and that is often understandable. I've never before had a visit make my situation worse and then be ghosted when I complain. I wish I had never gone in for that appointment that day.

They were both highly competent and compassionate, not to mention patient and delivered the highest quality of care to my father. It was quite a traumatic ordeal, so we are extremely pleased with the both of them and the level of care they deliver. We highly recommend this hospital to all

They told her to be ready she’ll leaving by noon, as I’m typing still, Waiting for them to come out . 2hrs later is absurd. And still waiting . This hospital has went to dirt. Don’t have your baby here. lazy all about the $.. Do Better.

Today my father had a gastric tube replacement procedure and we ran into several unexpected obstacles. Dr. Geoffrey Anderson and Physician's Assistant Gabrielle Guetta we're phenomenal! They were both highly competent and compassionate, not to mention patient and delivered the highest quality of care to my father. It was quite a traumatic ordeal, so we are extremely pleased with the both of them and the level of care they deliver. We highly recommend this hospital to all

This specialty hospital provides no privacy for patients in that there are cameras in all rooms. Add to that: patients' visiting families are treated in a way that might be similar to visiting a prisoner. The nurses are amazing they seem to really care but management needs to take some courses in public relations.

My mother in law has been battling stage 4 cancer and we have been frequent guests. The hospital is a bit outdated. The staff seem tired and overworked. However that does not hinder this being one of the best medical research hospitals in the world.

Everybody from the Lifeline team (got transferred from another area hospital to Hopkins) to the nurses and doctors were great! Everybody was very kind and caring and went above and beyond. The thoracic team checked in everyday and gave updates and the surgery went smoothly. I felt like I was in good, caring hands my entire stay.

You may need to retrain a nurse on your staff, nurse Kimberly Heinrich has a horrible nasty attitude, shows no compassion, caring, kindness, patience or understanding. Not sure what she's going though in her life, but it's definitely showing how she treats other people coming from a parent who had lost their child to a horrible accident. This person definitely does not need to be working in the medical field she doesn't know how to talk and or treat other people..Sad world we're in. A little bit of kindness goes a long way.

There are a few employees who are gems, but very few. The facility maintains an overall culture of apathy. Less than minimal care is perfectly acceptable. Dr McNulty is fantastic, but one physician can only do so much. I would NEVER send a loved one there again.

As a previous caregiver of my mother amidst the pandemic, I have lots of experience with the
shortfalls in care that occur daily at various levels of care.
Presently, as the caregiver for my brother, we have experience what PAM Specialty Hospital of Tulsa offers. Upon arrival, bad experiences from previous facilities where we had been overpromised and under delivered made me hesitant to trust any facility. Initially when we arrived PAM, it was late, the important items, i.e., Specialty Bed, private room, etc., where not honored nor not available. Because of our past experience of being over promised and underdelivered. I asked the transporters to take us back to St. John’s. We spent another 4-days back at St John’s while I figure out our options. On the 4th day the CEO of the PAM, Audra Powell called me to apologize for the shortfalls and promised me that everything that had been promised for my brother will be honored. Her reassurance led me to return a few days later with my brother. More than anything Andrea’s assurances and follow through on promises made, allowed me to give PAM another chance. Thankfully, upon our return, everything that was promised was present. Audrea and the team at PAM worked hard to meet our needs.
Carlos, the Patient Experience Liaison of the hospital provided a service which has long been forgotten by many facilities. Which is to simply provide a listening ear and check in on my brother to see how everything is going and whether his needs are being met.
The case managers at this facility are spectacular. Nicole and Krista were the best advocates anyone could ask for. They drove my concerns in the right direction to get changes, make adjustments, and answer my MANY questions timely. They were instrumental in helping me with medication concerns. They listened and got results.
The day nursing team provided phenomenal care they were able to provide. A couple of the night nurses were not as attentive nor timely with scheduled medications. On a positive note, PJ, Jessica, Natalie, Maggie, and Bri who were all sweet, personable, and went above and beyond. Needless to say, we also want to thank all the nurses not mentioned because they also made a positive impact on his care and mental well-being. All of them were willing to thoroughly explain, were patient, kind, sweet, and truly caring of my brother. He has a long way to recovery, but the team helped to keep up his spirits.
The atmosphere of this facility really makes you feel like you are an extension of their family.
The real lasting BIG negative was my brother’s physician, Dr Harris. While a very nice man who seemingly cared about my brother, he allowed my brother to tell him what medications he needs, Norco and Dilaudid, which are highly addictive opioid pain medications. Note: When we arrived at Stroud my brother had been weaned from these medications about a week before we arrived at PAM. First day at PAM, my brother was asking for both medications. I spoke to nurses about not giving him this addictive medication and give him something else because he had already be on and weaned off of it and he has an additive personality. Despite my warnings, requests, and pleading to not giving it to him . . . it only took me going back to TX for a few days when my brother finally sweet talked the doctor into prescribing exactly what he wanted, Norco and Dilaudid. FYI – My brother is paraplegic who has no feeling from the waist down. Dr Harris disregarded my concern and objections. It took me several more weeks before anyone would hear my concerns and finally agreed with me . . . there are plenty of other pain relievers, non-addictive, in a doctor’s tool box. Thankfully and FINALLY, my brother was assigned a “Pain Management” physician who listened and wholeheartedly agree with me.

Our 88 yo mother was recently at PAM North for over 3 weeks. Unfortunately mother had neglected her health care & would not let us help until it was almost too late. Dr Ramos, Acadia, Michelle, Wes, & the rest of PAM staff were amazing. We were kept informed of mother’s care & medical/physical needs. Thanks to the excellent care she received we have a chance to spend time with her that otherwise we wouldn’t have had… THANK YOU PAM NORTH❣️

I usually don’t write reviews - if I have bad experience with something I usually just move on with my life. However, once you deal with medical emergencies it’s a different story. We usually go to either Scripps at Torrey Pines or Scripps Mercy and have always been treated with kindness and respect. This time we ended up at Scripps La Jolla Emergency Room - big mistake! We came here for an emergency with my wife. We literally just experienced a major loss in hour lives and my wife’s Dad also got diagnosed with advanced cancer. In other words we’re dealing with a lot right now and the last thing we need is being treated like garbage by some nurse (unfortunately I don’t have her name) who just has a major attitude problem. No formal greeting or welcome, just snappy, disgusting attitude towards people who come to this hospital for help. The rudeness continued once we were about to be checked in. Unbelievable snappiness and attitude. And yes I did call her out on it which I assume no one has ever done before. Anyways, after this encounter I took my wife to another emergency room because it is unacceptable to treat emergencies like that. We’re paying a lot of money for our health insurance and being treated like some worthless… is just not acceptable. It’s not acceptable anywhere but specifically not in the medical field. I am so disappointed in Scripps and am now considering to take our business elsewhere. I will also file an official grievance as well.

I had my first surgery experience here and I am so grateful I had it with these amazing people. I had a complication with my pregnancy and needed surgery. I was faced with the most difficult decision and these amazing people guided me and took care of me when I was most vulnerable. They showed me so much compassion and kindness. The nurses at labor and delivery department were heaven sent.
Laura, made sure that I was understanding everything that was to be done to me and even asked questions for me when I couldn’t even think for myself. She made sure I understood the procedures and the risks that come with them.
Julie, was the most patient and understanding. She took care of me when I was healing and trying to recover. She was there for me when I was unsure what’s about to happen to me after the surgery. She gave me peace and reassurance that everything was going well and all that I’m experiencing is normal and even shared her own experience. She was so gentle and knew how to make me feel comfortable. Julie was like a mom to me and really took care of me as if I was family.
Courtney, was new in the labor and delivery department but felt like she’s been doing it for forever. Courtney was the one that took care of me during the surgery. She was there with me every step of the way. During the worst time when I was feeling the most pain.. I held her hand and cried on her shoulders like a little kid. I was so drugged up with the anesthesia and was so scared and everything I was feeling was my first time but she was there with me and I can honestly say that during that time she gave me strength. Just her being with me gave me so much relief during one of the most difficult and scariest time of my life.
Also Dr. Starikov was amazing. He’s very direct to the point and straight forward and he makes sure that you understand everything. He uses simple words and even draws you pictures to make sure that you know what he’s talking about and you don’t get lost in medical vocabulary. He guided me through my decision making with his knowledge and experience. He’s a little scary at first but once you get to talk to him a couple of times, he even jokes around. You could really feel how much he cares and wants the best for you.
I am very thankful for the wonderful experience that Scripps’ staff gave me. I’ve always had the highest respect for our medical professionals but when they really go above and beyond, thats what separates them from just being professional to actual heroes.
