Want to give a shout out to the nurses and staff on the 17th floor. I was briefly there this past Thursday to pick up my uncle Juan who received treatment. It felt very welcoming and calm on the floor. I am assuming that they were nurses (I apologize if they’re not) as they were sitting in the central location and also running around taking care of patients. When we asked for a wheelchairs, they processed the request with a smile. One of the folks even asked how my day was going and asked about the Buffalo Bills. I know this may sound small but it’s the little things that can make a difference. I had some anxiety coming to visit and was exhausted from my 8 hour drive to get here, but all that went away when I entered the 17th floor of this hospital.

The nurses, admin team, patient care team I have no complaints about. I dread thinking how the doctors here have handled my Dads care since the very beginning of his AML diagnosis in April. To begin when he was initially admitted, he received his chemo and was discharged with oral meds that he was told to keep taking upon going home. Doing some basic internet research we discovered he was taking the meds for 20 days longer than he was supposed to. We had a teledoc visit with his doctor, she described it as a “misscommunication” and that he indeed took it weeks longer than he was supposed to. Also during this period, he was doing outpatient in New Jersey and never had any follow up from his doctor until weeks after discharge his initial diagnosis. I do not think this is standard. He was discharged with no Oncology follow ups scheduled or anything. When we finally did talk to his Doctor she said to move to a clinical trial that had not been successful on anyone, nor was it even available. She gave him more chemo that did not make any progress towards treating his disease. To say she was hands off is an understatement. I personally messaged about clinical trials that had success with patients with similar diagnosis and subtypes. We were told to reach out to hospitals that had them while she continuously kept stringing my father along without any real plan besides what was already not working. I asked about transplants she said it could kill him, now they have no viable plan as the chemo and lung issues (related) are too much to overcome. I continue to seek treatments for him. In short, I feel like we experienced a 1980s treatment plan, with no creativity or critical thinking applied to treating my Dad. He is a number to (most) of the doctors. They also will scheduled him for blood transfusions once a week on outpatient when he got them daily in the hospital. Extremely frustrating. Their bedside manner was also… abysmal. Offered little hope this whole time and didnt give confidence to other centers that would have been more capable in treating him. I would not recommend MSKCC and wished he went somewhere like Mayo or MD Anderson. Maybe they can be helpful for more straightforward treatment plans, but my Dad has a very rare subtype that made it complicated. Several doctors come off as thinking they are the end all be all of what is known about my father’s disease. Newsflash - we’re all capable of reading studies that show efficacy of treatments but your heads are too far up your own you know wheres to listen to family. They also give off a vibe of thinking they are the Almighty as well and it breaks my heart to see how they spoke to him and how it affects his mood, graces, and personal outlook.

I had surgery with DR Cláudio Kawasaki on my knee at the hospital, I was hospitalized for one night, the food at dinner and snacks were excellent, but not the same as the attention given by the girls and boys, nursing technicians and nurses, super attentive and patient surreal, even with a lot of pain they did everything they could to minimize it and give it all their attention. Hospital Paulistano is excellent, incredible professionals from reception to departure, delicious food, I was very well assisted by neurosurgeon Dr Adil Bachir and Dr Rodrigo during my anterior and posterior lumbar arthrodesis surgery, on the L4, L5 and S1 vertebrae, almost 8 hours, doctors on duty, very human and attentive, wonderful nursing technicians, excellent nurses, excellent and committed physiotherapists, it was an immense joy 1 day after the surgery to get up from the bed and walk around, without any support. Today I had it at the oncology outpatient unit with an appointment more than 30 days ago. When I got there I found out that it was no longer scheduled. Because my plan, which was Amil, changed on 11/01/23 to Bradesco and they simply didn't send me a confirmation email. And on June 14th of this year, during my first surgery, they lost all my exams from the surgical center back to the room. What I heard from the Surgical Center Manager... I trust my team... I had to go to the Lavosier and Tecnolab laboratories to request a duplicate of the image exams.

I had knee surgery on 6/24. The service was all polite. They always ask you to arrive two hours before surgery completely fasting. Before the surgery I spent time with nursing, with an anesthesiologist and with my doctor. All facilities clean and well organized.

Traveling internationally with young kids is stressful enough, but when a baby starts running a high fever, it takes the stress to another level. Edwin De La Cruz was a calming voice for us. His knowledge and expertise were great, and his willingness to explain what and why he was evaluating, was appreciated. Please dont ever seek treatment here you are better of at a veterinary. Went here cause my girl friend got an bladder infection and it was hurting more than it normally would. They scared us to death with all these possible rare conditions she might have and do everything they can to do as many scans and tests possible. After all the ultrasounds and MRI they tell us they did not find anything and they give her a prescription with a rare intramuscular antibiotic(she was already 2 days in to a normal penicillin cure) the doctor tells us to stop taking the cure she was on and get a shot everyday of the intramuscular one she prescribed. The fun part is after that i went with my sick girlfriend around rio to try and find a place that has this medicine and can inject her with it but no pharmacy or public hospital was willing to do it. So she went without antibiotics for 2 days, only for us to go back to this hospital for them to change it to an oral one. So long story short we spent more then a 1000 euro's and 2 days trying to get her help and she only got more sick and ended up with the normal antibiotics we started our journey with

I'm only impressed by the price. My doctor was inexperienced, replied badly to my questions. They hardly speak any English. They did not give me the x-ray I payed for. Unprofessional, but overpriced.

I didn't imagine we would have such a positive experience, from reception to the surgical center staff, nursing staff, concierge. We were treated with incredible affection, the nurses took care of the patient and companion as if they were family. Do not come here even if you think that your dying or have any serious medical problem, absolutely terrible care and attention takes 6-12 hours for them to even do simple blood test or any real examinations. Really there rating should BE honest and lower then where it currently is, also technologically speaking their WAY behind.

If you need immediate medical attention do not come here this is absolutely the worst hospital I've ever had to come, unfortunately, I almost died here from a heart attack and they did nothing to help me except treat me like a ragdoll. Absolute garbage attention and no care for the patients, I literally had to waddle my way out of that hospital as If this is a movie, I would give them ZERO STARS if I could, save uour time and go elsewhere.
