I moved to Jacksonville 7 years ago and my wife and I have been fortunate that all of our care is done by Mayo doctors. Without exaggerating EVERY interaction with the doctors and staff have been first class. They take the time to complete thorough diagnoses and make sure we are satisfied with the conversation. We have both experienced the ER which is like no other. They are very attentive and make sure you are as comfortable as possible with quick and accurate treatment. I can only equate it to the Ritz Carlton of hospitals. If you use the patient portal your test results are usually posted the same day or next morning. Even on Saturday!! The hype about Mayo Clinic is true. If you want the best it may take a minute to get in but well worth the wait!!

This review is regarding care received in the ER, I can’t speak to the facility beyond this.
While I can’t say I’ve ever been happy to be in an emergency room, I was definitely happy we were near Jacksonville Mayo Clinic when I needed one! An unexpected medical emergency during our travels meant, rather than waiting until we were home, I needed care right away and the care I received was fantastic. Despite its size the facility is easy to navigate, inside and out, and once inside they have such a streamlined process that I was through reception, admissions, triage, and in a room faster than I’ve ever even had my information taken at hospitals back home. Once in the room there’s a screen displaying any labs/tests ordered, where in the process those are, who is seeing you, and basically any important information you could need. It removed any of the “I wonder” guesswork which is invaluable when you’re already feeling anxious and unwell. Even the bathroom for providing a sample was set up with extra toiletries and comfort in mind. Everyone was so friendly, not only to my husband and I but each other as well. They worked great as a team which I’m sure is part of why things run so smoothly. A few people who had already finished their part of my care would stop by when they passed my door to ask how it was going or offer me blankets, it was really just above and beyond. My doctor explained everything very clearly and eased my concerns without invalidating them. They gave me instructions for what was next and once home I set up my patient portal. Even that had me impressed with how clear and concise it all was. The whole experience was outstandingly positive and left me with the realization that hospitals where I live desperately need improving and updating. While I hope to never end up there again, it was hands down the best experience in any medical facility I have ever had and I cannot recommend them enough!

Gorgeous campus and excellent care. I was very impressed with the friendliness of the staff at all levels from the security guard to the clinicians. Radiology department is impressive with 16 new MRIs! Makes sense why they are the Number One hospital in Florida! As someone with fellowship training from Cleveland Clinic I know excellence in healthcare and Mayo Clinic Florida lives up to the Mayo reputation. The Courtyard Marriott is right on campus for added conveince. Parking in the garage is $5 all day and only $8 to valet or free on surface lots.

Without a doubt, the BEST hospital in NYC! Even the food was good. I was there for three days, and everyone was very nice, accommodating, polite, efficient, caring and professional. Even after I was released, the doctors called me at home to check on me, or called me straight back if I left a message. Really first rate treatment!

The ER room is a real joke. They have no system. They make you wait 5-6 hours before they even treat you. No one is taking charge. A true example of horrible medical attention. You’ll wait 8 hours to get a room if you need one. They discuss your medical condition in a waiting room next to everyone. It’s embarrassing. Never again to this place. Never. They should be shut for.

Horrible hospital, some of the older less funded hospitals really get a bad wrap compared to this place. It's supposed to be one of the best in the city but that's if you're in a particular tax bracket. The staff is just pure trash, unfeeling, uncaring...the list could go on. During the pandemic they were swept under an avalanche and rose to the occasion. This I will admit, but post pandemic we the patients are left to fend with burned out, inconsiderate service that needs an overhaul. I get it we're all suffering on both ends, but must patients suffer mistreatment and an absence of care coupled with life threatening illnesses when it isn't necessary?

We are so very lucky to have Duke Medical Center in our city and community . After a recent visit to the emergency room and admission our treatment was excellent. The staff in the emergency Room and in cardiology were excellent. Thank you for your treatment and your expertise.
Valet parking was so kind and accommodating .
Transport service did just as well.
I say Go to Duke for your health care.
Thank you Duke Medical Center you are number one in my book.

Amazing hospital. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. The doctors were vigilant to ensure they covered all bases before releasing my husband from care. Thorough is an understatement. As I navigated the building, staff readily escorted me so I wouldn’t get lost. The nurses are top notch, knowledgeable and supportive. No rock goes unturned. State of the art equipment ensured my husband got the best evaluation available. I will never go to an average hospital again after this experience. It is your choice where to go when there isn’t a bed or you need a referral, don’t let anyone let you think otherwise. With the healthcare system stressed as it is in America, insist on going to Duke or what’s comparable in your area.

My husband came to PAM 3 weeks ago after multiple recommendations by people within the hospital industry. We are leaving soon, and wanted to leave a review of all the wonderful staff at the facility.
The therapy teams have been an absolute dream! John with physical therapy is patient, kind and funny. He pushes us to constantly strive for better, and is a huge asset to PAM. Kristen with occupational therapy is also the sweetest woman I've ever met. She is helpful, encouraging and a great listener. Irene with Speech therapy is so incredibly kind and also brilliant. She describes every step of the therapy and why it benefits you. It made us feel so much more at ease in an area of medical care that we had not ever participated in. Kelsey, Noe, Travis and Anika with Respiratory Therapy were wonderful to work with. They moved my husband quickly through all the stages of respiratory therapy, while making sure he was safe, but also pushing him to the next step.
The nursing staff was exceptional during the day, we adored Bonnie, Jordan, Lydia and Matt, and Monica and Natalie were great night nurses. As far as CNA's, Madison, Abby and David were all fantastic! These staff treated us like family, loved on my husband, and gave exceptional service. They constantly asked if we needed anything, were thoughtful with the meds being given, and carefully curated his healthcare to fit the need at the moment. We could not have asked for a better experience!
The administration dealt with any issues that arose quickly and efficiently. We did struggle slightly with some night staff that struggled to find the patience to understand his communication methods, but we brought this to the attention of administration, and they dealt with it immediately. He was given control of his healthcare, and this eased anxiety in so many ways. We are so incredibly blessed that we came to PAM and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an LTAC in the future.

My husbands best friend has been in the Pam Unit for 2 months. Not once was the room cleaned. Floors were so dirty. They would leave their trash laying in the room and on his bed. There was one RN nurse who was meanest uncaring person I have ever seen! They have now moved him to a nursing facility over 4 1/2 hours away that has awful reviews. This place is a complete joke. I should of knew the first 10 minutes we were there that it was going to be a nightmare. We got my dad there at 10 pm and when we got to the room it didn’t even have a bed in it. The speech therapy/nutrition employees were one of the rudest people ever. They are unprofessional and not very caring. One day one speech therapist said he could use a straw and have ice and water and the next day another person said he couldn't. The lack of care and compassion by most of the staff is unacceptable and unnecessary. Dr. Motaz B Hossein is very unprofessional and not friendly at all. He is not very compassionate. He doesn’t listen to the patient or the family. He is very stuck up. I hope that Kettering network never recommends this place to anyone in the future. I was actually worried for my father’s well being. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy.

Everyone from the time my father in law was admittedly until he was discharged were exceptional. I was able to speak, at any time, with the doctor and nurses as needed. They were so helpful and caring at all times to dad. I knew at all times, if we weren’t able to be there, he was well taken care of and our community is very fortunate to have a facility of this kind to help dad recover until he was able to get to the next rehabilitation center. I can’t say enough how understanding and helpful the nursing staff are with the patient as well as the family. Thank you for taking care of dad and being so sweet and kind.

I cannot express how pleased my family and father is with our experience at Pam Specialty Hospital! All the staff caring for my father has been exceptional! Without their care, my father would not have made great strides in his recovery to live a better life. The staff has become our family. This hospital, with their phenomenal team, will hold a special place in my family and father’s heart forever.
