In the early 1970s, a group of professors from the Universidad del Valle School of Medicine conceived the idea of creating a center for specialists to exercise their private practice. With this dream, the Imbanaco Medical Center (CMI) began, opening its doors to the Cali community in August 1976, with 28 offices, to which a small clinical laboratory and a team of X-rays. In the 1980s, the Imbanaco Medical Center received another group of specialists in the different branches of medicine, and took an important step by opening the 24-hour Emergency, Surgery and Hospitalization services, standing out as a pioneer at the national level of ambulatory surgery model, with all its advantages for patients, employers and the health system in general, because sick days and associated costs are minimized. Step by step, the Imbanaco Medical Center laid the foundations of an entity committed to serving with quality to care for and preserve life, and created a community of loyal customers who already perceived its differentiated value proposition from the beginning. This approach to a service strategy - which has been maintained throughout its history - is what has shaped the profile of the company, has summoned different wills, and has allowed consistent and intelligent decision-making about the appropriate allocation of resources, the choice of different services, and the adoption of new technologies. Throughout these 44 years, our unwavering commitment to preserve health and life by providing humane and excellent care has been possible thanks to our dedication to service, which is and will be an inspiration in everything we do daily for the patients and community. In the permanent path of evolution to continue strengthening ourselves and, for the benefit of patients, in 2019 the negotiation with the leading European health company Quirónsalud was closed in order to enhance the service to our patients and continue making important contributions to the sector. providing humanized care and excellence. Due to the foregoing, since the aforementioned date we continue to work under the leadership of said organization under a new name and a new image that is transformed by integrating the largest hospital group in Spain and Europe and, although our essence does not change, its experience strengthens us by allowing us to have access to best practices and new technologies that are up to the best health institutions in the world. Today we are world class, we are Imbanaco Clinic Quirónsalud Group.
