More than one hundred years of history and medical advances highlight the Hospital San Vicente Fundación in Colombia and Latin America, which, supported by its nearly 2,350 collaborators, performs more than 19,000 surgeries and 120,000 consultations every year, through a wide range of specialties and medical subspecialties typical of a high level of complexity medical center. It is one of the five IPS accredited in health in Antioquia by ICONTEC for its high quality standards. It has five Functional Units for comprehensive patient care: Trauma, Surgery and Osteomuscular; Chronic Diseases, Oncology and Neurosciences; Digestive diseases; Cardiopulmonary and Vascular; and Maternal and Child, which are supported by more than 70 medical specialties and subspecialties. To support children and their parents, the Children's Hospital is a pediatric clinic within this large organization where all the pediatric specialties and subspecialties come together, in the emergency services, hospitalization, operating rooms, intensive and intermediate care and the emergency care unit. pediatric burns.Along with this, the Hospital offers diagnostic and therapeutic support services with personnel, infrastructure and advanced technology: outpatient consultation, clinical laboratory, blood bank, diagnostic and therapeutic imaging center, nuclear medicine. In addition, the entity provides the support of health disciplines that contribute to the recovery of the patient and the family: nursing, social work, nutrition and dietetics, psychology, physiotherapy. To support the nearly 30,000 hospital discharges each year, the institution has extensive capacities such as 409 basic hospitalization beds, 20 basic obstetric beds, 101 ICU beds and 92 CSU beds, 70 emergency beds, 15 procedures, 16 operating rooms and 86 consulting rooms.Remaining at the forefront of health services requires the Hospital to carry out continuous research and administrative and financial management, in order to renew and update technology, equipment, procedures, and the service agenda. Even though it is amazing how old the building is, technology is very modern and well suited. Historic building. Long hallways.

This opinion is directed to block 6 of the hospital, which is in an area where you can see people who consume drugs, although there is surveillance and once inside the hospital it is safer, if it is scary, at least walk to the hospital at dawn, and block 6 is opened at 6 in the morning and meanwhile everything is dark or with little light, a perfect place for homeless people, you have to travel with great caution and at least if you are patient and come from somewhere other than Medellín, it is not advisable to be in line before 6 in the morning to check in at block 6, arrive with 5 minutes left or at 6:00 am, there a guard opens the door and when you are already inside the place is much more pleasant and neat, there is a waiting room with chairs where you can wait for them to call you for the billing card, there are elevators, there is natural ventilation in that waiting room, almost all the staff there are friendly to the extent they should be. I give it a 3 star rating, for a not very pleasant event that I had to go through in there, I think that of all the possible days in which that bad event had to happen, it happened just on the day of my appointment, I don't know who it was from the fault of that negligence but thanks to a call to my eps I was able to quickly solve that difficulty so as not to continue in that unpleasant situation in that hospital block.
