The convent hospital of the Brothers of Charity Linz has been in the heart of the provincial capital for more than 250 years. At the Linz site, 25,000 inpatients and a further 85,000 outpatients are treated each year. A total of 331 beds are available in the nine departments and institutes . As an acute hospital, the convent hospital plays a central role in the care of medical emergencies. In central Linz alone, 2/3 of all strokes are treated by the Brothers of Mercy. The Linz Convention Hospital is part of one of the largest health and social facilities in the world and is therefore embedded in international structures. Nationally, the hospital works closely with the external institutions of the Austrian province of the Order. Regionally, the brothers are regionally coordinated with the Upper Austrian order hospitals and cooperatively networked with the ÖO health holding.
