Awful receptionists. Completely useless.
I've called them multiple times in a week. And they always pretend they don't hear me. But I've called another hospital right after, and another hospital always hears me. So it's just lazy receptionists lying about line issues.
The CIMA website says to call reception for details about the doctor. But reception says that I have to find out the details by myself.
Rude service.
Doctors are good tho. But getting an appointment is a pain.

My bad Experience was basically with the emergency service admission. I have very good insurance coverage thanks to company where I work, and suppose to cover up to 500$ for emergency's
Well after the emergency passed and when I was on going to do insurance paperwork. Due to laziness of the workers at frontdesk instead make the regular paperwork so I do not have to anything to pay....they choose the easy way and just direct to pay from my pocket and to do the reimbursement and more beyond than just do paperwork as its name says this is an emergency, is not money is that is at my budget I already get rejected once due wrong paperwork provided by the hospital...still waiting for solution

This is my experience in Cima after surgery. It really pains me to write this review. The care is either pretty good or awful. I was hoping to like the staff, I truly was. Some staff were very attentive. But I had some horrible/unacceptable experiences.
I press the call button for service. I watched the red light activate on the handheld and I can hear my room alarm go off at the nurses station, the alam sound seems to get reset and alarm light on my room handheld clears but no one comes. This happened on more than one occasion, but not every time.
I suggest administration monitors response time to call for service to eliminate this problem. I assume there cameras above the nurses station that monitors the Control Board (or whatever it’s called). Or maybe the Call for Service equipment has a database for when request for service was made. The hall cameras show when someone entered the room. This data can be utilized to eliminate bad staff members.
If there is a problem with the Call for Service equipment, it needs to be investigated and repaired immediately but honestly it appears to be a lack of dedication in very few staff members.
A few bad apples are making the entire basket bad.

This place deserves a 5 star review! As a foreigner needing emergency surgical care in a different country, we were a bit terrified. My mom had to have an emergency appendectomy and we were rushed to this hospital from 5+ hours away. The facility was very clean and professional.
The staff were absolutely phenomenal. Her nurses went out of their way to make it a comfortable experience. Many of them spoke English well, most others were patient with using google translate. They ordered us food on Sunday when the cafeteria was closed, and even gifted us bracelets when we were leaving. The nurses were exceptionally kind.
Her surgeon Dr. Herrera was also phenomenal -- very communicative and kept things light hearted. He brought us a deck of playing cards on his day off to help with the stir crazies (we were there for 5 days). He also gave me his personal WhatsApp so I could ask any questions if I had concerns.
Overall WAY better experience than I've had in US hospitals. The only downside is that you have to pay on the spot -- so call your creditor for a credit line increase....

I must speak about the emergency service and care my wife received Sunday evening. She was complaining of headaches for several days. The staff, (who spoke English) was very professional and courteous. We just moved to Costa Rica a little over a month ago. We have great insurance in the states. We did have to pay in advance and will submit the bills for reimbursement. Dr. Melendez in the emergency room was awesome, great sense of humor and all! She even recommended a primary care doctor for us. CT scan, doctor's exam, medication, under $700. In and out in under 2 hours! Go figure! We are happy to know that we will be having a doctor affiliated with this hospital.

I have been a costumer for the last 30 years. However today am ashamed to say that to get promp costumer service about an existing appointment I had to dial for the English speaking option and request help in English to get attention!; this after 45 minutes attempt at getting a warm body in the Spanish option; noone was available to answer there this morning !.
What's going on here. Are we costarrican citizens not deserving the same costumer service or medical atention and respect ?we are paying high and same prices for such services as the northern visitors ...
Additionally my appointment got canceled today , and was notified this morning so , had to reschedule for later and not my fault ,but the doctor office had overbooked appointments , so I was faced with having to wait for over 3 hours , not good at all...this is a private clinic and not the socialize hospital were people have to wait in line for hours for service...not good at all. It seems clinica biblica is getting bigger and its costumer service is going down the hill...Not good !

Ari the MRI technologist is absolutely wonderful. I went in for my first and second MRIs in the same week and he made me feel super comfortable while being super friendly. It felt like I was with an old friend! The only downside was the wait time however I understand that’s how things go at hospitals. MG is lucky to have Ari!

Very busy hospital. What did I notice
...they are organized, staff you see in the hallways willing to point you in the right direction with a smile. You must wear a paper mask at all times (no cloth masks allowed).
Imaging centre for x-rays was very busy, but names are called and the line was moving. Expect to wait 30 minutes. I liked the chairs that have plexiglass between them, such a great idea and made me feel very comfortable while I waited.
They have Tim Hortons at the main coxwell entrance and a pharasave for prescriptions.
Taxi stand just outside the main entrance waiting to take you home.
Excellent Hospital and caring kind staff here.
If you liked my pic of plexiglass glass chair give this review a like.

Michael Garron Hospital, formerly Toronto East General Hospital founded in 1929 and located in the East of Toronto in Ontario, has been proudly serving the community of East Toronto since 1929. Over the years the hospital has continued renewing its commitment and version and today Michael Garron Hospital is a full-service and large community teaching hospital with over 500 beds, and providing comprehensive patient care to a diverse population of more than 400,000 people living in its corresponding area! As a community teaching hospital, MGH is affiliated with the University of Toronto Faculty of Medicine, the University of Toronto Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing and other educational institutions. MGH is a designated Paediatric Centre for south-east Toronto for maternal, newborn and paediatric care and a partner hospital in the Child Health Network of the Greater Toronto area. Approximately 3,500 babies are delivered annually at the hospital's Maternal Newborn and Child Health Centre! Although the patient waiting time and some other staff training are needed to be addressed and improved, thankfully, MGH has been working very hard with the provincial government to provide the best patient care for the people they care about as they could! Thank you is really needed for their efforts and hard work!

Poor quality of service from the medical lab team and patient services. Contacting via WhatsApp and Email gave imposible results after trying to reach them for weeks for a quote for labs. They give you differing information (via whatsapp they gave me a quote and then almost doubled the quote estimate via email - still unexplained). They kept me holding for weeks with no proper response nor matching prices. After waiting I still don't have a full quote for the correct labs.
Calling is also made impossible as whichever option you pick off the menu loops you back through the main menu. I do not recommend planning any tests or labs through them.

If you're traveling and get sick, think hard BEFORE you go there. This "Hospital" will take you for everything you got if you're not Colombian and have private insurance. Never again!
I took my girlfriend to this hospital because she was having strong abdominal pains on 07/02/21. The two doctors were recent graduates v. inexperienced. One of them actually told me that Coca-Cola was a good drink for hidration!!!
Today we spent most of our day worrying that we may have contracted Covid seen as one in every 5 staff members were either not wearing a mask or wearing them inappropriately. We had complained to the night manager, who didn't care less!
To pay for the treatment they tell you to go to talk to a manager in his glass office. This guy not only charged us 5000 Reais which is an obscene amount, but had zero empathy or people skills.
And to think that the doctor actually wanted her to stay overnight, probably to be able to bill me ten times as much!!!
This hospital has some serious issues.

Everything was excellent, from the operating team (special thanks to the amazing doctor Alexandre Santa Cruz, the best orthopedic surgeon there is!!!) until the nursing staff (impeccable and extremely professional, available and kind), the cleaning service (very effective) to the food!!!! (I never ate so well in a hospital!!!). The medical and customer care are so good that you enjoy being there and feel extremely safe and protected until you are ready to return home! Congratulations to all parties!!! I fully recommend this hospital!

BEWARE IF YOU ARE A TOURIST! My father was hospitalized on a family trip to Cancun. He was transported to this hospital and needed emergency surgery This hospital FAILED him. They wouldn’t even give him so much as saline or an antibiotic without payment in FULL. WE WERE CHARGED $4,000 FOR. He went 8 HOURS sitting on an emergency room bed when he should have been in surgery. THEY DEMANDED 50,000 DOLLARS PAID IN FULL BEFORE STARTING ANY CARE AND THAT WAS JUST FOR THE SURGERY. WE OFFERED TO PAY 25,000 SO THEY COULD START AND THEY REFUSED. WE OFFERED TO PAY THE REST THE NEXT DAY AND THEY REFUSED. WE TRANSFERRED MY FATHER TO THE OTHER HOSPITAL BECAUSE WE THOUGHT HE WAS GOING TO DIE. WE FELT USELESS WHILE THEY HAD ALL THE POWER TO DO SOMETHING THEY CHOSE TO DO NOTHING!!!!! THEY ARE SCAMMERS AND NOTHING MORE. ITS A MIRACLE MY FATHER SURVIVED AND ONLY BY THE HELP OF GOD WAS MY FATHER ABLE TO COME BACK HOME WITH US. It feels very comfortable being there. Olivia is the best. She arranges everything for you when you are from outside the country of Mexico. You show up and all is prepared. Her personality is very welcoming and friendly. I love not having to worry about the stress of paper work especially since i don't know Spanish well. All her subordinates speak English as well and are all very nice. Galenia might be costly however the peace of mind you get not being stresses out with paperwork helps a lot. I don't even need to Contact my insurance. They do everything for you. Best service. The receptionist at imaging are a bit slow and don't know any English. But the staff attending to you in the radiation area are super friendly and helpful. I see many people complain about the price. This is a private hospital and will be costly. It is the same in my own country. Private hospitals cost a lot but if you have insurance and you are not from Mexico, then I highly recommend using their tourism concierge. They are a great help and speak English. They are all very nice and helpful. I have had the pleasure of meeting and being assisted by Olivia (who is the best), Ellen, Ricardo and another guy i cant remember his name. Not sure if it is Daniel or something with a D. That was over 2 years ago i met him. They arranged everything with my insurance prior to going there. I just showed up and Olivia walked me through everything. I was in and out as quick as possible. No long waiting. Use the concierge service they have. It really helps you from stressing about paperwork and payments. My journey at Galenia started September 2021 and I continue into 2023......

Be careful all the tourists MOST FROM USA, in this hospital they don't try to help, they're just looking to take all your money freaking you out, using your feelings to scare you and take as much money as they can!! Please don't go there, go to the General Hospital they really help for nothing ($$). If you want to WASTE your money go to the Galenias.

PCR test done very quickly, good hygiene results the next morning. Not crowded, almost no waiting time, but people smoking marijuana, literally 2 meters IN FRONT of the entrance of the respiratory emergency... there should be security at the gates.

Expedite and most automated services, I guess for the elderly could be a bit harder, but they have staff willing to assist you

I had the best experience with all the staff at hospital. Everyone was super friendly even though I didn't speak a word of Spanish. Even other patients helped me out with translating information to the staff.

Excellent hospital, exceptional care. My mother in law was seen here as a pre-op liver transplant patient. She had multiple complications during her stay. The staff was phenomenal and found ways to treat each issue as it arose. We were able to stay the night in her room (except in ICU) and visit 24 hours a day. Many stores & restaurants within walking distance. Top of the line, cutting-edge treatments available to patients. Staff is kind and competent. Unfortunately, my mother in law was too sick to receive a new liver. The staff was so compassionate as we took turns saying our goodbyes. We are forever grateful for the care she received here.

We just had a family member go through the Transplant ICU at this hospital. The doctors, nurses, technicians and staff were amazing. Even the level of care that they showed us when our loved one passed, was beyond words. They set up the room beautifully, with little electric candles and music, so that we could say our goodbyes.
