we have been to AR heart hospital several times to care for my husband's heart issues. This hospital hands down is one of the best! Every single nurse we had was so great. They are very skilled and knowledgeable yet so kind at the same time. Shout out to my husbands nurse Greg on floor 3..he took the best care of us. I wish all hospitals and nursing staff would use this one for a template. They surpass expectations in every way. Even the food was great, which usually isn't the case for hospital food.😂 I can't thank AR heart hospital enough for taking care of my guy and helping him feel better. We recommend this hospital and staff to anyone having heart issues..you will not be disappointed in your care here.

PROS: I took my mom through this hospital for a mitral valve surgery. We used a cardiologist from a regional heart clinic who sent us through Dr. Nolen for mitral valve surgery. The surgery went fantastic even with my mother’s many other complications like COPD, afib, and half a lung 🫁 missing. Their surgical team led by Nolen were top notch. The nurse in PACU was the absolute best! She was So on top of everything. She told me all about her two grown kids that worked there too. Very impressed with how well she took care of mom. The in house cafe was really fantastic! And cheap! I ate there every day I could. CONS: Intake was a longer process but well managed. Just expect it to be like an restaurant or airport wait sometimes. Weekends suck… my mom’s surgery was on a Friday and it felt like the weekend staff were just there to keep the lights on. My mom ran into lots of issues with kidneys, urine output, and was unconscious over the weekend. Also, no leg boots or compression socks for that length of inactivity. It seemed to get kicked down the road and were handled immediately on Monday when the doctors were back. They saw her, made some changes, and Mom popped out of it immediately. This 48 hours of worry could have been avoided with a more attentive weekend staff or not doing Friday surgery. There were better nurses and worse. I’m an annoying caregiver as I want to be informed and listened to all the time and most of them were really good about it. Overall still a wonderful experience but next time surgery on a Tuesday! 😂 (I still might swing by for lunch even if I’m not there for an appointment!!) 😋

My 1st appointment with Dr. Lo was on 06/28. I was given an EKG and after reading the results and consulting with me regarding my medical history, Dr. Lo listened to my heart and was able to get me approved for an Echocardiogram and lab work immediately 2 hours later. Getting 3 tests performed in 3 different departments in the same building on my 1st appointment was not only convenient but crucial. I received a call 24 hours later and was advised that I have a complete heart block and that Dr. Lo wanted me back immediately and scheduled me for surgery Monday 07/03. It's been 6 weeks since I received ER heart surgery and a pacemaker to save my life. Thank you Dr. Monica Lo and your team at the Arkansas heart hospital for going above and beyond for a new patient that was literally on borrowed time. I am truly blessed to have you as my cardiologist. I highly recommend Dr. Lo and her team at the AHH. Leicha Wilkerson
