Spasticity treatment in 290 Neurosurgery clinics in Europe

Very disappointing experience. My mom fell very sick while on a bus traveling from Austria to Poland through Czech Republic. She fainted, vomited, had seizures and was unconscious for 40 minutes while waiting for the ambulance. Ambulance took her to this hospital, wasted time on checking her insurance instead of helping first and foremost, and made her wait for a check up for an hour in an emergency department. Later, after receiving medical help my mom felt very thirsty and asked for a glass of water. She had to ask several times different staff, and all of them didn’t bother to help and just said there is no drinking water available (however, my mom could see two bottles of water on a table and an electric kettle, probably the staff’s, but obviously they didn’t want to share). My mom felt dizzy and weak, and yet had to get up and go to toilet to drink tap water. Just after 2 hours of staying in the hospital the staff asked my mom to vacate the bed even though she still felt very dizzy and nauseous. Just a reminder: she was in a unknown city in a foreign country took off the bus because of an emergency medical accident. The hospital staff couldn’t care less, they just asked her to leave because according to them she already “got all needed medical assistance” and “ready to leave”. She had to quickly book a hotel room and leave. When she asked to help at least with getting a taxi, the staff again acted reluctantly and didn’t help in the end. Unempathetic, unhospitable and unprofessional. Me and my family members have experienced medical assistance a few times in several countries but never had such a bad treatment.

Definitely among one of the best teaching university hospitals in the Country, spacious, with a lot of subspecialities including cardiology, gastroenterology, ENT, etc..

Very efficient. Arrive and take a ticket then wait to be called. They take your details and then you are seen according to your needs. English is spoken.

Got my Covid (#5) vaccine at this facility. Vaccination center is located in building/pavilion E next door from entrance E7. Hospital is easily accessible via public transport/trams. The service and staff are very efficient. Dr. Mankovecky (fluent in English) and his nurse are extremely friendly and pleasant. Appointment is required and recommended for the vaccination services. I recommend this facility!

This review is for the ULZ department in this hospital. I went several days to the hyperbaric chamber. The team was the best one I've ever encountered in Czech Republic, doctors, nurses, technicians, everyone was nice, positive, polite, helpful, and dedicated. They took the time to explain everything to the patients, are nice and smiling everyday. For the first time I felt they loved their job for both the medical part and the human contact. Special thanks to Mila, the nurse who took care about me all along the procedure. Please do not change anything! And for the hospital in general please take this department as an example!

It’s really a very good hospital. As I don’t speak Czech, it may be a problem in some places. But here it is very good. It’s like an international hospital. Everyone from the reception to the examination doctors all speaks good English. There is no problem with being treated. And the waiting time is not long at all.

I only visit the hospital emergency when it is very urgent, unfortunately I have never left satisfied. They didn't give me proper examinations, the drugs prescribed for inflammation in the body had side effects of "possible formation of inflammation in the body". If you have to call for the results after 3 days, you have no chance to call. When I passed out in the corridor, the lady from the cafe upstairs had to help me, because two of the sisters had a lunch break, so why should they help me, and the third one preferred not to see me. There is no point in solving anything with management - they will always turn everything against you and sweep it under the carpet.

Recently I took my friend from Poland to this hospital, the doctor demanded 3000 Czech crowns, explaining at the same time that if she was Czech, the service would be free. I’m wondering how much funding for the construction and ongoing maintenance of such a resource in the region comes directly or indirectly from EU resources?

a hospital has it's own aura decorum. the medical staff here are really powerfull not obeying the rules, wich is one of the main building blocks of great morale here and the overall success rate here, where you are in a care of true proffesionals

I tried to contact them for several days!!!! I sent emails, I called to the reception and she redirected me to a wrong department. There they gave me another phone number but they don't pick up for 2 days!!!! Hopefully their emergency department works faster.

Unfortunately we had to visit Stomatochirurgic department on Sunday evening in emergency with our kettle nephew who had an accident and the tooth got broken. The nurse was very nice to us whilst we were filling up all the paperwork. Meanwhile doctor A. Ščerbová arrived and told us her opinion about the necessity to take out the tooth. We were worried to make the decision quickly and she was so nice and patient that didn’t mind to explain everything to our family friend (dentist) over the phone. Whilst the procedure started she was communicating with our nephew, explained him everything and shortly it was done. Really amazing experience and lovely professional, but still kind attitude of the nurse and the doctor. Thank you very much again!!! PS: there is massive car park with 50czk fee.

I had a thigh lift in April after a massive weight loss . It was cheaper than the UK but not particularly cheap. The results are awful. Still so much skin left, hardly made a difference. I complained to the clinic and was told by Dr Justan than I expect too much in a very short, abrupt reply. He was the same in person. I was desperate to feel better about my legs so I went with it. I’ve since seen my UK surgeon who did my breast uplift, arm lift, tummy tuck and he has told me the results are awful. Low scars, far far too much skin left, a handful from groin to knee still needs removing. Please do your research. I tried to save money by going here but now need to start again and save money to get fixed !

I thought my friend was describing the bedsores her father had while he was there and that they had to take him away to prevent his condition from worsening. Unfortunately, then a relative of the family went to this clinic for joint replacement surgery, and while being taken from the recovery room to the lower level for recovery, a young girl drove the relative and overturned the wheelchair. Accidents happen, but the behaviour of the doctor standing next to me debating with a lady was outrageous. Instead of being a doctor, he brazenly demanded money, saying he didn't see any other way to help. Not only is this kind of "failure to help" behavior criminal in the Czech Republic, but it shows the human and professional garbage that works there. This is my opinion, after the experience of a relative. And before I didn't believe my friend that this is common there, when she had a problem with her father's bedsores, after our family's experience I have a personal opinion that is never there again, this style of health care and doctors' behavior where I want to put my relatives or God forbid to lie as a patient myself.

I had breast augmentation in October. I was booked in for implants and restructure after substantial weight loss. For the first 3 months everything looked fine but when the swelling went down my new breasts started to droop. I took the advice of Dr Justan who advised me I didn't need implants, just augmentation. This was very poor advice or a money making exercise. The Surgal Clinic now want nearly three times what I initially paid to put an implant in with full augmentation. Very poor advice and after service. They have tried to blame the elasticity of my skin being very good hence the droop but an experienced surgeon should have identified this. I am now booked in to an English clinic, where I should have gone to start with. The clinic itself is extremely nice, like a 5* hotel with excellent staff it's just unfortunate that the surgery isn't the same.

On November 21, 2023, I underwent knee arthroscopy. Heartfelt thanks for any help, care, advice and, above all, the professionalism of the doctors, nurses and staff on duty.

On November 24, I was at the emergency clinic. The approach of the nurses and doctors was very professional and humane. Thank you for everything and I wish them good health and patience in their demanding work.

I was there in the emergency room with my 1 and a half year old son when he cut off his belly on his finger. We didn't wait, they took us right away, there were wonderful nurses who calmed me down too. They played songs and sang to their son while they sewed up his finger, and there were also students trying to cheer him up. Before I left, they also packed bandages, gauze, etc. if I needed it at home. I was very surprised by the approach and I'm glad that I came across a great shift.

Today I went to ORL department at ST Michaels because of the pain in my left ear. While sailing on Danube we were just passing by and I had to run and jump in without appointment. Not only did the MUDr. Matúš Čentéš find the time for me, help me with spot on diagnose and best treatment, but he also went his way to show me where the pharmacy is, he took a few minutes out of his busy schedule to explain prescribed medicine. Hospitality perfect, the servis too. In different hospital they wanted to operate my hernia discs, i relocated here and in 3 days they fixed me up prkperly wothout operation. Thumbs up! Also food is much better then other hospitals and doctors are very friendly and will always properly explain whats going on and discuss various options for you. I will reccomend this hospital anytime!

I want to thank all the staff of the ENT Clinic, the inpatient department, from the doctors to the support staff. Their professionalism, care, empathy and human approach made my stay at the clinic after surgery very, very easy. Special thanks to Doc. Good day, on 11/14/2023, I underwent a prostate biopsy at department 8/3 in Martin. I can't help but write this review for such a super professional approach of all involved. It started already at the reception, the nurse was incredibly empathetic. It's a shame that I don't know her name, she would definitely be named. Also, big thanks to all the nurses, especially one, I think they called her Deniska. Doctor Kliment topka, golden person. Oh and I can't forget the anesthesia ladies, I wanted to thank them right away but I couldn't speak....thank you in addition, you were great! And what to write at the end? Mr. Director, you have such a great staff.

Hello, my son was operated on 3 years ago at the Martin University Hospital, Department of Surgery. We had a personal interview with Mudr. Adamik - surgeon. A doctor with a high level of professional education. Just a top. Now 3.11.2023 again after 3 years we contacted him again. He was extremely willing and accessible. He planned an operation that is difficult and is only performed in Martin and Prešov. The disease is called Hydradentis suppurativa. Since Martin is closer to us, i.e. 300 km from our place of residence, we chose this hospital again. If you suffer from such a disease, I highly recommend it.

This hospital stinks like smelly feet and doctors does even not have medicine certificate, better to give birth at home!

Waited about 30 mins for a kids X-ray. Overall very satisfied with the service. Staff was all very nice and helpful. Some spoke limited English but we were able to navigate it without major issue.

We waited way too long on Kid’s emergency department. We used to live in Bulgaria for a few years and even there is service better and faster. Disappointed

As the year is long, I don't go to the doctors. Therefore, I do not know what the procedures and approach of doctors are today. Anyway. Today's experience with the "willingness" to give advice over the phone really shocked me. "Thank you" goes to the nurse and the doctor on accident. Incredible arrogance. 4 months ago surgery in this hospital for surgery, nightmare and trauma you don't want to experience. Nurses behaving arrogantly, reluctantly, unempathetic, the very bottom of humanity. When you have problems after surgery, they make a person into a psycho patient, that they make it up. Doctors are reluctant but happy to get noticed for nothing. After months of suffering, I went to a clinic in the Czech Republic, where they immediately gave me an accurate diagnosis and did not claim that my pain was in my head. Rather, they thought that I came from some developing country. Our healthcare system is a complete mess both professionally and humanly. Honor to the huge exceptions that sooner or later get trampled out of sk and thanks to which I didn't give up and kept looking for my dg. If you have a problem, go to Šaca and the emergency room.

This review is about the surgical department. I want to thank the surgical department for the human approach to patients. It helps a lot when they see how they treat people well. They give answers to all questions, calmly, without any aggression. I was there at the end of April, for a pilonidal cyst operation. MUDr operated on me. Peter Varga. I am satisfied with that doctor. As well as the overall department is good. As for patient rooms, it's fine. Other times, it may be that many of you will already have an occupied drawer, but that's not such a big deal. I wish you a good day. In June 2023, our 89-year-old mother was operated on in your hospital. She was operated on by Mudr. Turčan, Mr. Prime Minister of the private gynecologist. Mamma center in BB. He performed the operation in an absolutely professional manner, for which we thank him very much. I also rate the cleanliness of the ward and the food very positively. Although I had a prescribed diet, the dishes were excellently flavored. Today's experience On September 10, 2023, we brought my uncle to the Department of Vascular Surgery. 11.9. they are going to operate on him in the morning. The experience happened when the nurses were admitting him to the room, one of them said come, you can go, because it was visiting hours and there were two of us with him, we wanted to unpack him in the room, but when I was walking through the corridor, there was a shout, where are we supposed to go? That we are supposed to go to Kaufland..., I don't understand, one says she can and the other is a rude, disgusting woman, I can't call her a nurse. How to treat relatives of patients? How serious? I'm a psychologist and I can't afford to treat people like this, to anyone. This has nothing to look for in a hospital, you need to communicate tactfully and work with humility in hospitals. It's sad, you want to help your relatives, right? I just wanted to carry my bag and you are blamed for it in the hospital, where that understanding should not be missing.

Long story short 🙂: I had a couple of surgeries on both hip joints when I was one year old. Everything went well at that time, living with the thought that the problem was solved forever, enjoying the outdoor activities I wanted to do. But I was wrong. The day when I started feeling pain in my right hip joint which has also reflected on my walking mobility was the life challenge I didn't ask for. It was not the way I was imaging my life further, pills were not helping a lot, the only way out was the surgery (hip replacement). As I am not Slovak, at first it was hard for me to decide where to do it, here or go home, you know so many things to take into consideration including the care after surgery especially if you do not have any family member beside you. I did search on net and found this clinic which took my attention as potential one based on all the info and patient testimonials I read. Fortunately, the orthopedist MUDr. Jozef Vojtaššák, PhD who did all my examinations advised me that this is the clinic where he is performing the surgeries. And actually this was the decisive piece for my dilemma. Today, after 15 days from the successful surgery I am happy that I feel the difference and for this nice feeling I would like sincerely to thank MUDr. Jozef Vojtaššák, PhD for his professional and caring approach, for all his support, advises and answers to my million questions, to all nurses and physiotherapists from the Clinica Orthopedica and Spine Clinic for their unconditional care, patience, friendly approach and kindness who made my two weeks stay in the clinic like home.Looking back now, it was maybe fast but definitely right decision to make, not regretting at all, thankful and grateful to the whole medical team who has for sure overachieved my expectations. My wife had a serious knee injury, surgery seemed to be inescapable, but the doctor made the utmost to avoid it, excellent diagnostic, took time to look into it and decision taken to go the conservative way. Opinion on private family natural birth. Premium package. It was my second birth. The first one was at Medeor Hospital in Łódź, which I remember much better even though I didn't pay for it. There I experienced warmth, respect and understanding that was often lacking here. I went to the hospital after 6 hours of painful contractions with severe pain. I was seen by a doctor who from the very beginning called me "you", treating me with contempt. I don't remember his name, but I think he introduced himself as Marek (I think it was Dr. Marek Korożan, but I could be wrong because 2 years have passed since the birth). Based on the CTG results, he said that I was not giving birth at all, but since I had already come from far away, I should go to the antenatal room and go to sleep, and that I would definitely not give birth in the near future. At the very beginning, I felt like an intruder and a bother of four letters. I spent several hours in the room with my husband - of course, not sleeping and fighting contractions. After a few hours, a midwife (Ms. Joanna Miłosz) came and asked if I should be examined. I agreed. It turned out that I was 6 cm dilated and they asked if I should give anesthesia. I remember the midwife fondly. The anesthesiologist was also very nice and tried to relax the atmosphere while administering anesthesia. Morning came and with it a change of staff. Another gynecologist was very cold and unpleasant. When the anesthesia was removed and I started to complain about my statement that it hurts, I heard that I had pain when I was lying under anesthesia, and now it doesn't hurt at all, so I shouldn't say that because it's not true :-) Childbirth after anesthesia lying down despite my willingness and strength to give birth in a vertical position. While pushing, I heard some sarcastic and embarrassing comments from this lady (I unfortunately didn't remember her name). I felt very uncomfortable. Even on the National Health Fund, I have never been treated so disrespectfully and unpleasantly. When complications occurred, fortunately Dr. Chmyłko and Dr. Wnuk came and alleviated the unpleasant atmosphere. The birth was difficult and had complications, but thanks to them I felt cared for and safe at that moment. I also remember the doctor fondly. med. Anna Lew-Tusk - a neonatologist who took great care of our daughter when it turned out that her test results were not good. Postpartum care was generally okay, but despite my high temperature (infection) and the baby crying all night, I was not offered to take the baby so I could rest. Despite the completed birth plan and my clear objection to it, an injection of vitamin K was administered, later claiming it was by mistake. Other objective facts: comfortable beds, nice maternity room, good food. Due to complications for me and my daughter, we stayed in the ward a few days longer and I did not pay anything extra for this. My memories of giving birth are rather unpleasant. I paid for a private birth to avoid unpleasant situations and give birth in harmony with myself - my expectations were definitely not met. I wouldn't choose to give birth at Swissmed again.

Last week I had a planned CC in Swissmed - breech position. I am very pleased with my choice, the medical staff was very nice, everyone answered my questions, doubts and explained them. My husband was able to be with me during the surgery, after the surgery the care was also very good, the midwives and neonatal nurses were very helpful, kind and understanding. Doctors nice and competent however ladies on the phone rude and not helpful… they instruct you before you even explain what is the problem and have ZERO understanding and patience for family of patients. we paid for the test we did not get results on, trying to get through to the doctor on the phone- impossible. I do not recommend this hospital unfortunately due to poor customer service.

I feel sorry for the old people. I brought my grandmother to the emergency department of this hospital on December 1, 2023. My grandmother was bitten by a street cat and needed to be vaccinated. We were told that she would be discharged tomorrow. 1. Left until Monday. 2. THEY HAVEN’T TREATED THE HAND ONE TIME IN 3 DAYS!!!!😡 Grandma asked to treat it, but no one moved. THE HAND HAS FALLED!! We sent the grandmother to the toilet to give urine, it didn’t close, the plastic jars for giving urine were not new. 4. They took a very long time to process us when we arrived, but they discharged us at the speed of a bullet, without waiting for me so that I could talk to the doctor. He can write to the Ministry of Health that in the 5th hospital there was no iodine or other disinfectants, antiseptics and bandages ♀️ 🤦🏼 and ask them to provide all this to the hospital.

I spent a couple of days in the hospital in the 1st surgical department for examination. I would like to express my gratitude to the medical staff of the department and special thanks to the doctors of the diagnostic department: doctor I.V. Goroshko and nurse A.A. In May 2022, we urgently arrived from Kazakhstan to the clinic. It was necessary to install a drainage to remove bile from the liver. The condition was quite serious, bilirubin was more than 500 units. In Kazakhstan it was not possible to install drainage, it did not work. Ivan Mikhailovich Davydov did an excellent job with this complex operation, many thanks to him and the clinic for this. Excellent care, modern equipment, competent, experienced doctors.

A good clinic, competent doctors, I really liked Nelegach Tatyana Vladimirovna. Competent professional, patient and very polite. He tells everything on the shelves, a very pleasant person. I also liked the ultrasound specialists, the comfortable atmosphere. The neurologist who did the echocardiography of the heart is very charismatic and attentive. I didn’t really like the gynecologist, Khugaeva, the feeling that I consulted not with a doctor, but in the market) I don’t like gynecologists, it’s difficult for me to have examinations, my body twitches reflexively, that I can’t do anything about it and I have to endure through force. (And I already tried to endure as best I could and lie still) this is when you try to insert lenses into your eyes and the eyelids begin to close themselves. They did a screening of the cervix, I thought I would burn with shame, during the examination, constantly “well, why are you twitching, I don’t hurt, you are having sex, but what’s terrible” post-Soviet attitude entered the chat) inappropriate questions about earnings, etc. ) Most likely, as a specialist, she is really competent, she has gone through so many institutions in her practice, but her attitude towards patients should be improved.
