Very good service and support. I called them one day before for an appointment. Nex day At 11 am I met the doctor (on time!). Very good conversation in english, very fast service. You have to pay in advance. People were very friendly and helpful! Appointment costs about 80 dollars, other things on demand. you can pay by credit card easily. i highly recommend the clinic.

The international clients WhatsApp line is the worst I have experienced within the business in Medellin. I was trying to get an appointment for an MRI and responses were just like automatic system that left you for hours with no responses. If you call nobody answers. When finally someone responds your multiple messages, leaves again with no answers. I never expected such a poor service from such a reputable institution. I started around 10:00 AM and at 2:48 PM still wasn't able to get any availability for the appointment. I told them never mind and they respond to that message at 5:35 PM! I understand if the people is to busy, but so that means they need to hire more people for the job.

I paid for an Antigen COVID test and haven't received the results from the examination even as they promised to send them within 3 hours to my email address and provide access on there website! On requests I couldn't reach anyone. Thats fraud and should be a 0 Star Rating!

My husband recently had spinal fusion surgery at the hospital. There are so many great things about this hospital, but other things that need improvement. First of all, Cristina, in admissions is wonderful. She speaks perfect English (a huge bonus as my Spanish is basic) and she's extremely thorough and caring. The pre and post op care was also amazing. The hospital rooms are huge, with English TV stations and the accommodations are quite comfortable. Most of the staff (nurses, aides, etc...) are also very caring individuals. What didn't go so great is: (1) At check in we were given the rules of the hospital which requires a family member to be with the patient 24/7. This should be given in advance as we had to scramble to get a dog sitter. (2) Cristina, in admissions, asked us what we had been quoted for the procedure. This is something the hospital should already have, and in the end we were charged almost 23,000 pesos for the hospital's surcharge on the titanium metal used to fuse my husband's neck. Basically, the corkage fee for the metal to enter their hospital. We were not told about this by the doctor who gave us the quote. (3) Most of the nursing staff was great but some would let me husband's IV's run dry with alarms going off. This would cause them to come in and run saline solutions through the line which was a bit painful. When I'd go to see why the nurses had not responded to the IV alarms or our pushing the call buttons, they'd just be hanging around the nursing station. (4) Discharge was a traffic jam. The doctor said we could leave around 10:30 and that the bill was ready. I went to the nursing station to inquire and the sent me to the "caja" (cashier) downstairs who told me it wasn't ready yet so went back to the room and waited 2 hours until I finally went back to the nurses stations and requested someone who spoke English to come talk to me. After that, it finally got finished and delivered an hour later. All in all, a good hospital experience but if they are going to try and market to expats and wealthy individuals, there are many kinks in their system that they need to work out.

I had to take my 3 year old daughter to the pediatric emergency room and unfortunately I experienced racism from the first contact with the doctor asking me if I was the mother, because my daughter was white. I’m providing a unbiased and true experience of my most recent hospital visit at UNIBE in Costa Rica. I travel frequently to Costa Rica and had the most pleasant and professional experience on two previous occasions while be admitted to the hospital for long term stays from the doctors to the staff members this is why I chose to return. Unfortunately my most recent experience was negative to say the least from my initial checkin to being discharged as I was appalled with the treatment and level of service provided. The intake personal have absolutely no business being placed into these positions as they lack the customer service skills interacting with the public as it appeared they are unhappy providing even the most basic questions to the patient. Upon being released from my procedure the doctor or not even a staff members took a minute of there time to discuss my diagnosis or even medications if required in person. I was just given a piece of paper which I had so many questions as I was unfamiliar with the medications required and diagnosis provided. I have been acclimated in other hospitals throughout the world upon completing a procedure the doctor or staff member would meet you in person afterwards and discuss there findings also any medications if required even if it’s a minute or two unfortunately this didn’t happen. That particular weekend I had been enduring many unpleasant symptoms as I drove two hours to visit the hospital thinking I would have a positive interaction unfortunately this didn’t become to fruition as I was deeply disappointed. I then asked the admitting personal upon being discharged if I can discuss my results with the doctor or any staff member they said I would need to set an appointment with the doctor and pay additional fees for another date. I was beyond disappointed and infuriated as I would need to return another day to drive another 4 hours in total. Once again the behavior displayed by the admitting personal was unacceptable and discourteous. This will be my last time visiting this establishment as the level of service provided was unacceptable especially of a paying patient. I recommend future travelers or foreigners utilize other hospitals in the area which hopefully would have more of a bedside manner when someone is ill and can conduct themselves in a professional manner.

My review is solely basednon the eait in the ER , as that is the only place we have seen after 3 hours of waiting. It is dirty, gross and the staff all hate humanity. They also have one restroom for the entire ER waiting room which currently houses 20 or so people waiting to be seen.

ZERO STARS IF I COULD!!! Worst experience ever. Father arrived to ER by ambulance around 1 PM for a heart attack!! No doctor sees him until 5 PM. Labs were done, notes taken for a cardiac consult and an echo cardiogram. Notes were taken but orders were never submitted! So the next day was spent in a hospital room with NOTHING being done. Echo finally done at 3PM. Doctor show up later and hasn't reviewed any notes or tests! He tells us now that they can't do the cath until Monday (this is currently Friday!!). If they had treated his heart attack as the emergency it was, they would have done the cath right away. Nurse comes in at night with only 2 of the 6 medications needed for my father. Dosage is wrong! ER miswrote the notes for his medication!! Something very wrong is happening here!! Hoping this place doesn't kill my dad!! Avoid at all costs!! Cleveland Clinic has ruined the hospital!!

Thought I was doing the right thing by calling 911 for my mother in order to have her seen asap.that might have been the case… but don’t plan on going back to be with your family member. Seriously! Insane the way I was treated. I begged everyone I could to please let me back there to be with my 78 yo mother. “Sorry.. not protocol” zero care from anyone I spoke to. No one cared that my mom was crying for me. They all just kept telling me it’s protocol to wait for an assigned doctor, that they were extremely busy. Well.. I keep pressing the issue and was finally allowed back. To an empty room, almost empty ER.. zero doctors around. Not busy as all. Disgusting the way I was treated. Horrible They literally coukd care less. I’m sick to my stomach over how bad it went down

Night nurse Robson, totally unprepared, passed, my wife underwent a procedure in this hospital and was very poorly treated by this professional, even he and nurse Renata were just making fun and laughing at my wife. Total disregard. I would never recommend this rubbish.

We're here now and we've had a wonderful experience. Remember with all these negative reviews that you're more likely to leave a review if you're upset, and less likely to leave a nice review if you're satisfied, like this one. We're foreigners on vacation here. We were treated fairly and promptly. We were able to speak English to two staff members during our time here. I guess I won't go into our personal medical records, but expect to pay around $50 USD (September 2022) for your initial consultation. The prices have been fair and reasonable. The staff was kind and helpful. Everyone did their best to make us comfortable and helped us understand what was going on.

Like any overcrowded and messy public hospital, just a bit cleaner and better equipped. Fair enough if you go private or thru a third party insurance. Sign in the Hospital's insurance system at your own peril, a shameful scam they call Health Plan (Plan de Salud). Mind the difference, it could cost your life
