Hospitales Universitarios San Roque in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria is located in the historic quarter of Vegueta, in the heart of the capital city of Gran Canaria, and, there, it provides coverage to almost 400,000 inhabitants, the largest population area in the archipelago. Historically, this facility has always represented the most humane side of healthcare, as it participates directly in improving the health of both, residents and visitors in our islands. As a private centre, it complies with European healthcare standards, it provides the best medical service to all citizens and it is state-assisted by the Healthcare System of the Canary Islands. The results achieved over this period of time have been possible thanks to our longstanding commitment to the continuous improvement of our techniques and excellence, with the ultimate goal of ensuring maximum client satisfaction. Our leadership is confirmed by the development of management systems and the synergies created with the companies that are part of HSR. This hospital has been accredited as a general hospital by the regional Ministry of Health of the Canary Islands, and it has also been authorised to provide medium-term stays and surgical procedures with hospital admission. Currently, it has 162 beds, 8 surgical theatres, 8 emergency room bays and 8 Intensive Care Unit (ICU) beds. The total built area of the buildings in Vegueta is 15,573 m2.
