Terrible human attention, lack of humility on the part of doctors in the intensive care unit 2 floor beds from 1 to 25, especially women, my mother as a family member went to ask something, and addressed the first uniformed person calling her "woman "Do me a favor" and the lady responds, "I'm not a woman, I'm a doctor" and she leaves without saying another word. My brother, as a patient, takes too long to perform assisted position changes and personal hygiene. It lasted more than 1 hour being with him. the dirty diaper, but they do see a cell phone in the family member's hands and they run to tell them to put it away, and they use it as if nothing had happened, what a lack of respect.

For 5 consecutive days they make me fast all day waiting for a surgery around 5 pm in a rude way and without any tact that they will not operate on me, if I approach them respectfully they get indignant and respond horribly, I feel imprisoned I have been hospitalized for 12 days for some calculations .

In Sept 2023 in Cuenca, my upper arm was broken in 4 places and I needed surgery to repair the bones (titanium screws, metal plate,). I was hospitalized at Mt Sinai for two days, required a month of 6 hr/day in-home care by rotating team of Mt Sinai nurses, and had subsequent 5x/wk physicaltherapy x 2 months .The care I received was extraordinary at every level. I can't praise the competence and personal care enough.

I was just digging through some old boxes and I found the paperwork from when I had to make a visit to Monte Sinai hospital when I got sick in Cuenca back in 2017. It brought back the memories of the amazing treatment I received there. I got insanely sick while visiting Ecuador. Before I got to the hospital, I thought I was going to meet my demise and I was saying my prayers. Thank goodness to the wonderful doctors and staff at this place because they took great care of me. I didn't get to see the entire hospital, but from what I saw from my point of view, they seemed to have pretty much everything there that you would find at a regular United States hospital. Plus, all the doctor's I saw there spoke English too. The experience also really opened my eyes to make me aware of how the statesides hospital rip Americans off. I don't know if their prices have changed since then, but my entire cost with testing and treatments and medication was right around $100. No you did not read that wrong, ONLY about one hundred dollars USD. Another way Ecuador helped me to realize that the United States is good at taking advantage of their citizens, is that when you go into the pharmacies there, the medication is a fraction of the price in the United States and many of them you do not even need a prescription for. Well I just thought I would share my experience for whoever wanted to read a real review on this place.

There is only one internationally rated hospital in Ecuador and it is in Quito. After 10 days in this hospital, they are decades away from being accredited. They do not have a lot of basic equipment. Suffice it to say… it took 5 days just to find me a washcloth. Had to stay an extra 3 days due to their neglect. Ecuadorian health care is ranked 101 in the world. U.S. is ranked 32. You chose.

They take good care of patients, they are treated as they should be. The facilities are well maintained. The parking lot is ample.

What a lack of professionalism: - nurses calling each other “amiga” while tending patients in their rooms - residents and nurses rushing into the patients rooms disregarding any privacy and without any education to greet anyone in the room - nurses setting up a workstation in the rooms hallway, meaning they have no respect for patients or visitors need for peace and quiet - poor facilities and lack of maintenance

In general, it is a good service that is provided, with the exception of a nurse who, without having any idea of ​​how to channel, gave my wife her arm with a huge bruise. The staff is very friendly and the facilities are clean and comfortable. The dark one in the rice is the cashier staff, who get annoyed just because, after almost five hours of having discharged a patient, they go to ask them if the documentation to pay is already there. Without any kindness they answer curtly: we are checking, we will call you.

I was in the emergency room on August 4, 2023 and I have never been so well attended. The entire nursing team is very dear, welcoming, providing humanized care. A million compliments to Dr. Thais, an excellent professional who comforted me throughout the service, did what she could and what she could not to welcome me. Thank you very much to all!

Emergency services won’t take a sick 13 years old child as a patient. So please beware of this strange rule and don’t take your youngsters there. Very strange rule. Should be advertised widely so one wouldn’t waste their time on a case sensitive situation. Be good to communicate this on company’s website.

Please dont ever seek treatment here you are better of at a veterinary. Went here cause my girl friend got an bladder infection and it was hurting more than it normally would. They scared us to death with all these possible rare conditions she might have and do everything they can to do as many scans and tests possible. After all the ultrasounds and MRI they tell us they did not find anything and they give her a prescription with a rare intramuscular antibiotic(she was already 2 days in to a normal penicillin cure) the doctor tells us to stop taking the cure she was on and get a shot everyday of the intramuscular one she prescribed. The fun part is after that i went with my sick girlfriend around rio to try and find a place that has this medicine and can inject her with it but no pharmacy or public hospital was willing to do it. So she went without antibiotics for 2 days, only for us to go back to this hospital for them to change it to an oral one. So long story short we spent more then a 1000 euro's and 2 days trying to get her help and she only got more sick and ended up with the normal antibiotics we started our journey with

I'm only impressed by the price. My doctor was inexperienced, replied badly to my questions. They hardly speak any English. They did not give me the x-ray I payed for. Unprofessional, but overpriced.

Terrible hospital! The reception on the first floor is the worst I have ever seen. Disgraceful service and attitude from employees. I spent almost an hour waiting to be seen by reception and it was after the exam time. The receptionist told me very harshly that I wouldn't be served and I showed her the time I got the password, 58 minutes before! She got up, stamping her foot and only answered me because she had no choice. The service for booking exams is even worse, if anything.

Very good hospital!! From parking, reception and emergency room service. Polite and willing people to help and practice their profession well. My father was in the ICU surrounded by a multidisciplinary team who welcomed him very well. Everything clean and organized. It wasn't difficult to talk to the doctors, as they were there when they visited the ICU and then in the room. Terrible care in this hospital, I was hospitalized on May 19, I They channeled me to medicate me and left a piece of what appears to be a needle inside my right wrist where they put the channel. I am already in the city where I live. They do not want to take responsibility, even though I have to undergo surgery due to their negligence, I have to lose days of work, I have to lose time and the trauma that all this is causing me, they want me to travel to Acapulco again, generating MORE EXPENSES and more stress about the situation, so that according to them they can take care of me!!!

Unprofessional! My wife went through awful experience in this hospital on Friday and Saturday "Jun 24th/25th without any doctors seeing her!!!! They just gave her IV During those two days, My wife she's with high blood pressure and other high risk issues.... I was admitted due to a fall, with acute pain in my leg and the professional who was pushing my wheelchair pressed my foot, the leg that couldn't handle the pain, against the wall and without even apologizing, left. One of the best hospitals even been in, from the reception to the surgery room. Very well organized, punctual, super clean rooms, respectful staff, and great doctors. They have well preserved the mission of Santa Catarina, since 548 A.D.

Never again! I took my girlfriend to this hospital because she was having strong abdominal pains on 07/02/21. The two doctors were recent graduates v. inexperienced. One of them actually told me that Coca-Cola was a good drink for hidration!!! Today we spent most of our day worrying that we may have contracted Covid seen as one in every 5 staff members were either not wearing a mask or wearing them inappropriately. We had complained to the night manager, who didn't care less! To pay for the treatment they tell you to go to talk to a manager in his glass office. This guy not only charged us 5000 Reais which is an obscene amount, but had zero empathy or people skills. And to think that the doctor actually wanted her to stay overnight, probably to be able to bill me ten times as much!!! This hospital has some serious issues.

Everything was excellent, from the operating team (special thanks to the amazing doctor Alexandre Santa Cruz, the best orthopedic surgeon there is!!!) until the nursing staff (impeccable and extremely professional, available and kind), the cleaning service (very effective) to the food!!!! (I never ate so well in a hospital!!!). The medical and customer care are so good that you enjoy being there and feel extremely safe and protected until you are ready to return home! Hospital is not well equipped to attend cold symptoms at the emergency. You will have to wait for the arrival of an specialist at 10 AM so that he can look inside your ear canal with an otoscope. I broke my finger on 11/19/23 and went to the HSVP emergency on 11/20/23, I went in and was seen, the fracture was confirmed by the RX and the doctor, he directed me to another doctor and asked to come in the next morning, With a broken finger, the doctor told me to buy a wrist glove that holds the finger at the pharmacy. Very clean and structured hospital, but there is a chance that the doctor who attends to you makes a mistake and the delay is certain! We had such an experience that the doctor did not see the bacterial plaque in my relative's throat, which was very visible... which made it worse and the other doctor confirmed the mistake. Kudos to the Nurses, Doctors/Surgeons/Anasthesioligists, Physical Therapists, Dieticians/ Food Service, Fellows, Interns and Students.Special shout-out to my postoperative caregiver- Karina Valentine. She kept me going through the most challenging part of my surgical journey- enduring procedures to facilitate the OUT in outpatient. Lest we forget the unsung heroes that keep the hospital so hygienically safe and superior- I must now sing my praises to the custodial technicians: 🎶We could eat off of the floors But we don’t have to They give plates and forks Don’t spill dessert (I got strawberry shortcake 🍰)

Duke has reached a new low in Health Care. I'd give them stars in the minus categories if I could. My son had eye surgery and every time we went for an appointment we waited over 2 hours to be seen. I can tell you I read 150 pages of a book on one visit. We actually saw people leave without being seen because they had waited so long. My son objected to the long wait one day and was told by the surgeon that he was ruining her day. Because of the wait he asked to talk to the manager or an administrator. While waiting the police came made him leave because they said he raised his voice. He was not allowed to talk to the administrator and was escorted out. This is not the first problem we have had with Duke. My son was in the emergency room waiting for the specialist on call when the Emergency Doctor came in and told him that the specialist on call was already home and refused to come in to see him. We were told he should go to the specialist's off the next day. We did that and he was seen for less than 10 minutes and told to go back to another doctor. Seems the specialist could have cut through the chase and just told us that to begin with. My impression is that almost every one in the hospital system is very impressed with themselves and seems to think it below them to interface and deal with patient who have some real problems. I can, in no way, recommend any Duke Service. I could continue with examples but it would sound repetitive. I practiced Nursing for 45 years and never came up against any care that is this poor in quality. Giving them -5.

There is good and bad. I recently gave birth at Duke University Hospital and I want to say that my experience with Doctor Clifford, and nurses Lexi, Brenna, Tabitha, Josephine among others was phenomenal. I was blown away by the care and compassion I received so I will say it was a four star experience. However, I have one major complaint about the experience and feel it's important enough to try to voice it. The postnatal recovery rooms are terrible. They are the size of walk in closets and if you have a support person such as your husband staying with you, they have to sleep on what is essentially an airplane chair. My husband could not do it, and it made the end of my experience at Duke hard because I needed him there with me. I felt like me and my baby were locked in a cell and I was going crazy by the time I was discharged. Thank god I was discharged early. There were many people coming in and out of my closet those last few days and nights, and it was definitely too many people. After receiving an emergency C section, I felt I was improperly educated on the repercussions. I had no idea I would have trouble producing milk after my blood loss in surgery and I was not informed about any of the medication I was prescribed. Again, it would have helped if my husband could have been there because maybe I actually was given information but was too out of it for it to sink in.
