In 2021 I have give birth in this hospital. I had a horrible and traumatic experience, the staff member were not professional at all, lack of communication, 0 empathy, after 2 years I am still recovering because the experience was so traumatic. I ended with emergency C-section and total anestesy, the midwife was not comunicating with me, telling me what she is doing, nurses were always having bad attitude when I was saying I am in pain, they were like: other patients are also in pain! Also no lactation consultat was available, even though when we discussed on the phone they lied that the consultant was there. No help with lactation, because of them my baby starved for 2 day, I didn't knew how to latch and received 0 help. Basic help was not provided, my husband was helping me changing the sheets when it was too much blood, also my husband was changind the baby and everything else. When the nurse was coming they were bothered that we are disturbing them. If you have another option for giving birth, please Don,t choose this hospital. Not sure if I had this experience because I am an expat and I don't speak English, but anyhow I still have nightmares and treating the ptsd, not that they even cared to check-up on me or provide any help postpartum, so I was on my own.

Absolutely horrible service. My father broke his arm and we had to wait like 10-15 minutes just checking in. And then they gave him a terrible cast and diagnosis. We had to come back to the US and go to our local Kaiser Permanente to get actual care for my dad. Please avoid this place, especially if you are visiting from the US. We have used the services of Valmar Hospital, including surgery and emergency care. Could not ask for better service and care. Having so many specialists at one location is so helpful. Received excellent care from Doctors , nurses and staff.

Horrible service. Showed up here with a case of Food Poisoning and was turned away because my symptoms were "similar" to Covid-19. The front desk person told me to wait outside, didn't even ask me simple questions such as if I had a cough or shortness of breath and after "speaking with her supervisor" told me I had to go to the General Hospital because Velmar was "full". Such a lie! If it was full, why wasn't I turned away when I first showed up? I went to Clinica San Fernando after and was seen by a great doctor there. My cardiologist and urologist have their offices at Velmar and I will let them know I won't be able to attend our appointments anymore at this hospital, because they deny service to people in need.

Chaotic and no communication between departments. My 6 year old daughter was referred by a paediatrician from the same hospital for an immediate ct scan and the staff in the ER made her wait for 2.5 hours before telling us that we had to have various blood tests before they will do the scan. When we questioned the reason for only telling us that after 2.5 hours they accused us of attempting to cut the queue. Bizarre. There are plenty of other private hospitals in Bahrain, so no need to suffer like we did.

Worst hospital in bahrain. Really unprofessional staff including Drs. as well. Out of 100, 80 times Drs. are clueless what they are doing. For a minor case they take years to resolve. They give appointments after months and once you are in hospital to attend the appointment you need to wait 2 to 3 hours for your turn. I don't think qualified and competent persons are running this hospital.

I went to this clinic for an emergency case and an ent (ear, nose and throat) doctor saw my ear and gave me an ear drop with a nose one. The staff was very friendly and helped me with English speaking. They even have the registration form in different languages. Great.

1. Nobody speaks English in the Information 2. They send me to have a corona rapid test to a apotheke/pharmacy a few meters away, while I was hurting 3. The private room is spacious, clean and equipped with anything you may need for your overnight stay. The room service team take into account your dietary requirements and offers options for all your meals.

I had an ACL reconstruction surgery with Dr Gardon and my experience was great, even though it is rough to have this kind of procedure. All the nurses were absolutely wonderful with me; I could not have asked for a better experience.

About a month ago I tried to end my life. It was late in the evening, she wasn't on duty and she saw that something was wrong with me. She approached me and asked if I needed help. For hours she listened to me, gave me advice on how to move on and how to see the future of my life in a different light. In today's reality it is difficult to find people who will give of their free time to help others in need without receiving anything in return. Dear dr tina, if you remember me, I thank you for the attention and time you gave me, for making me understand that there is a way to deal with problems without running away from them. You are an amazing person! She is definitely an excellent person and deserves the best the world has to offer. The emek hospital, you have won a doctor who is literally an asset. I would like to ask the relevant parties to thank her for her humanity and kindness.

Absolute embarrassment for a medicinal center. My sister spent 7 hours in the ER with chest pain, provided doctor with all her records from other physicians. After 1 x-ray they disregarded everything, told her it's "probably" stress and sent her home. Thank you for reconfirming the public opinion in this countries medical standards. You are the heroes this country deserves.

I receivedan excellent care from very friendly and warm staffs from cardiology department.all doctors nurses and hospital staffs are so supportive. From start to end I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of care, warmth and kindness of every person I met. I highly recommend this hospital.

Worst emergency experience ever. Come here with my friend with breath problem. Waited 5 hours until he almost fainted, then they gave him ibuprofen and didn’t try to find real problem. When he decided to leave so unprofessional SOR, the nurse was rude and severely pulled out a dropper with useless saline. Works for parking counter, not people.

It's a very rubbish hospital. A group of children are waiting to see a doctor. Only one doctor sees a child for 20-30 minutes, and he is said to be an expert. If you don’t have good medical skills, you have to make up your time. It takes at least 3 hours from registration to seeing the doctor. I think it's funny. The attitude of the two Indian nurses was particularly bad. They were very impatient when asking her questions. I think this hospital needs to be managed well.

Due to the doctors' slowness and their selection, my mother, who trusted them, passed away 4 months after the first visit, even though her condition was not that bad at the beginning. People on whom medicine would have given up a few years ago, or even a few kilometers away, have a very reasonnable chance here. The hospital is second to none in interventionnal cardiology and some of the procedures in which they specialize can only be performed in a handful of hospitals around the world. They are the only hospital in France which can perform pulmonary endarterectomy. I know these facts first-hand, for having had relatives and close people being successfully attended there for life threatening conditions.

My best hospital experience so far - top surgeons and fantastic staff

I wasn't going to write a review (I'm so over all this), but I feel compelled to after reading a review that was extremely similar to what I experienced here for COVID-19 treatment. I tested COVID-positive on January 3rd and started Paxlovid. I saw my neighborhood doctor on January 4th. I am vaccinated (and boosted) but am at high risk with asthma. I was given steroids and breathing medicine. I was instructed to go to the hospital if I got worse. I got worse. The following evening, my oxygen dropped below 80. Scared, I called an ambulance and requested to be taken to this hospital as it was supposed to be the best. They took my oxygen in the ambulance and immediately gave me oxygen. I was on oxygen the whole time in the ambulance. I was taken off oxygen when I arrived as my saturation reached the high 90s. I requested the antiviral remdesivir. The doctor refused to give me the medicine. I explained how my condition worsened despite days on Paxlovid, steroid injections, oral steroids, bronchodilators, and rescue inhalers. He could not have cared less. I requested to leave as the doctor was not going to treat me (he charged me, though). The doctor told me there were other ID specialists. I requested to speak to one of them, and the doctor left. While waiting, someone else came in and said there were no other ID specialists there, so I paid and left. It should be noted my saturation had fallen to 92% by that time. I struggled at home with symptoms for the next few days. I continued testing positive after completing Paxlovid. My condition worsened, and I returned to the neighboring doctor about a week after leaving the hospital. Still symptomatic and COVID-positive, he examined me and found pneumonia. My labs were also abnormal, showing evidence I had developed blood clots due to COVID-19. He prescribed medicine for pneumonia and clots (which worked). All this could have been prevented. Trying to get my medical records from this hospital afterwords (for insurance) was like pulling teeth. It took forever to get my records, and when I finally did, I was shocked. The doctor noted that I said things I never did. My signature was forged on the documents. Worst hospital experience ever. Very expensive and received no treatment. The administration is a nightmare as well. Avoid it if possible.

We have been living In 3 different countries for the past 9 years, never experienced anything as bad. We have a a top insurance but they “suddenly” only excepts credit card payment. Stayed for additional 5 hours because they did not let’s leave. No one speaks English except the doctors. However, doctors are very competent and reason for not one but two stars.

Absurdly (like, for real) expensive for a very mediocre level of service. I went to the urgency center, and i found it very useless that on every stage (reception, triage, first and second doctor) they asked me the same questions. The doctor took more than half an hour to arrive. The receptionist has misinformed me and I did a very expensive (since I’m traveling abroad) call which wasn’t necessary at that moment. Also, several times there were several people coming in at a time, also unnecessary, certainly didn’t create a feeling of comfort. The room in which I was attended was small and the door was never closed.

My elderly mother was hospitalized, and was very well attended and cared for, as well as her guardian being promptly informed of her condition. Had a bike accident, broke my elbow and collarbone and got admitted to Thomayerova. Very satisfied with the entire treatment from arriving at the emergency until being released 10 days later, after two surgeries. I do speak some Czech but not enough for everything. Neverthless, all the nurses, doctors and other stuff were kind and friendly. We managed to get along using google translate and even have some fun while overcoming language barriers. Been there with severe lower back pain unable to even stand straight. I have been told that it will be some waiting time between 1 to 2 hours and i accepted that. After 4 hours i asked the nurses why noone from the people in waiting room have not been approached by a nurse or some explanation given to the waiting. The doctor was chatting all this time with the nurses ignoring the visible pain suffered by the waiting patients . Only after i raised my voice they decided to call me inside the cabinet for a check. This without carrying that a lady patient who was there before me was visible crying out of pain in the waiting room. The lack of empathy and respect i have never see before in a Prague Hospital. I did heard about horrible stories coming out from Thomayerova Hospital with some high profile cases on national television and i was hoping that after this some measures were taken by the ministry of health. Obviously there is business as usual. Avoid with all costs. Now i came to Neurology Clinic in Prague 2 and i feel better just by the kindness and empathy the staff have showed me here.

I got chest infection and I admitted in this hospital.i am not Czech and I don't speak Cezch at all.But almost all Doctors here speaks good English and Nurses hardly speaks English but they are kind and they know they job well,so no need to communicate much..Here Hospital food is on another level..each food design according on your diet and health conditions..thank you all the team members of this Hospital.🙏

Today my father was discharged from the internal ward for a pulmonary embolism. What he experienced there with the cleaners is simply unfathomable. Rude, arrogant, humanity means nothing to them. They raised their voices at the patients, ran into the room in the morning with such a roar, with the intention of waking them up, and even when that didn't help, they shouted at my father that hey hey hey we're building. My father, who is seriously ill on the devices, should have been sober and not put up with such inappropriate behavior of the cleaning ladies. It seems that they consider themselves to be of a higher caste, because what they allow themselves to do to patients is unparalleled. Unfortunately, they spoil the good name of the hospital. Someone competent should sort things out with them and order a course in empathy and, above all, decent behavior.

I am extremely dissatisfied with the emergency room staff and especially with the approach of the nurses. My son had a coughing fit, I rang the bell about 5 times and no one answered. An unknown number of people wait for a CT scan at the orthopedic clinic. I couldn't do it even after two days and 7.5 hours of waiting. There is total chaos here during the reception of patients. Kind staff but the place is in extreme need of reconstruction

"internal" Some patients are tied to the bed. They don't give them anything to drink, eat, anything... they give the patients crap... this hospital is a death factory. On the day of discharge, when the patients are supposed to go home, they are fine in the morning, but in the afternoon they are unrecognizable when picked up. After discharge, in the report, they are supposed to give home medicine equipment for the patient for 3 days....they give empty containers. Apparently, this is how the insurance company makes money... the hospital charges for something it doesn't even give. At the time of the spread of the coronavirus, no nurse even uses a mask and in the isolation room where there is covid I do not use protective suits... now I also caught covid from the hospital. If I don't have empathy and feeling for people.....get the hell out of the job! You might get away with it now....but karma.....it works....one day you will also be lying on your shoulder blades and begging for help...

My experiences there have consistently been the worst, primarily due to the limited English-speaking staff. I would strongly advise against recommending this hospital to anyone. It's incredibly frustrating to receive appointments scheduled months in advance at 9:30 AM, only to still be waiting for an examination at 1 PM. This is, in my opinion, the worst hospital to visit.

I participated in my daughter's labor. I say that I participated, because I was not there as a spectator, but being an active part of the labor. I didn't give birth to my daughter, I didn't feel the labor pains, my body is still intact and strong. My wife suffered and went to her physical limit to bring our little seed into this world. But I was there, in her every contraction, I was there in every sigh of pain, I was there holding her in my arms and living in our moment, taking care of my family and being the strength and support for my loved one. It was 14 hours of labor, it was exhausting and suffering, but it was also beautiful, magical, poetic, it was our moment, where our connection was strengthened even more. My heart is filled with the most beautiful emotions every time I remember that moment. St Joseph Krankenhaus, I have no words to describe this amazing hospital, I can't think of a better place for us to experience all of this. The midwives, the nurses, the doctors, the pediatricians, how much sensitivity and respect for us, for our moment. They were a fundamental part of all of this, I can only thank them. The "birth ritual" conducted by the midwives was the dance of life, the path of light for our Sementinha. And where some people see suffering, I see beauty, the beauty of giving birth to the beauty of life.

Excellent nursing team, I had problems on a few occasions releasing the medication (bureaucratic part), but something punctual. The team was very attentive and dedicated to the patient. Very happy to recognize the quality and exceptional service of the entire team.

Great service, especially from the receptionists and customer service assistant. I didn't really like the hematologist's care, but everything else was very good.

I gave priority to starting treatment at the clinic, on the recommendation of an incredible doctor. I was received very well by Dr. Clarissa and Dr. Liliana who are accompanying me in this process, but the reception team, appointments, among others, do not have the same desire to help, I believe that they are not strongly aligned with the purpose of the institution, there is no point in having welcoming doctors and the other sectors are involved in the process . We visited Emergency of this hospital. As we don’t speak French we were treated like prisoners. Hospital staff including doctors pretended like they don’t understand us. My wife came from a different hospital where she was initially admitted but only received very basic care because this one is accepted by our insurance. Despite having severe abdominal pain she was told that she will not be given any attention and she must go back to the original hospital. Doctor Jessica Franchitti was extremely rude to my wife and shouted to her to leave. Nobody ever treated us this way, especially in hospital. We had no choice but to leave and spend a day in a hotel hoping that the abdominal pain will get better. After we got back home my wife was immediately accepted to hospital to do hernia surgery.
